New York Yankees V Chicago White Sox on Monday

seth-edward-oneal.jpgThere’s absolutely wrong with you if you prefer to watch this than the huge game between the Cowboys and the Eagles on Monday night.

But in case you are, you must still be one of them remaining Yankees fans hoping that the Bronx bombers will be able to turn it around and finish strong in the 2008 MLB baseball season because quite frankly, watching Oprah Winfrey fart is more entertaining than watching this year’s Yankees screw with each other’s balls on that diamond.

With just over two weeks left in the season, the New York Yankees are still searching for answers on what seems to be a disappointing year for them in the American League East.

The Yankees have a 78-70 New York Yankeeswin-loss slate and if things continue to go downwards, they might not make it in the 2008 MLB baseball playoffs. Wow huh? Despite having one of the more talented (and expensive) rosters in the league, the Yankees just can’t seem to put it together this year.

On Monday night, they do battle with the American League Central leader Chicago White Sox. Unlike the Yankees, these guys have a remarkable 81-65 mark and I won’t be surprised if Chicago slaps the crap out of the Yankees in New York.

Chicago White Sox pitching coach Don Cooper has been juggling his rotation every way he can so that it lines up how the club wants it to. That means that the club is prepared to bring LHP Mark Buehrle, RHP Gavin Floyd and RHP Lance Broadway back from short rest to pitch in against the New York Yankees in their three-game season series starting Monday night at the Yankee Stadium.

Let’s look at the match-up between Chicago’s Mark Buehrle, a left handed pitcher who has a (13-11, 3.88) and New York Yankees’ Alfredo Aceves.

Buehrle stepped up when the White Sox needed a victory to end a three-game losing skid last week. The left-hander only allowed seven hits and two walks over 7 1/3 scoreless innings, striking out six against Toronto.

He improved his record to 10-3 at U.S. Cellular and made his 30th start for a club-record eighth consecutive season. Buehrle has not faced the Yankees this season but this is probably the perfect time for him to score a win over those guys.

Alfredo Aceves, on the other hand, threw 63 of his 89 pitches for strikes, walking none and striking out two, while turning a nifty double play to help his team win the last time he was on the mound. The Mexican League product is 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA through his first 14 big league innings.
