No Terrell Owens for the Cowboys against the Giants?
Sunday, January 13, the NFC divisional playoffs will conclude at Texas Stadium in Irving, Texas.
Yep, it’ll be the New York Giants visiting the Dallas Cowboys as the 2008 NFL playoffs continue with this huge divisional playoff game. The problem here is, one of the league’s biggest stars probably will miss this one.
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens was is expected to be a game-time decision on Sunday against the Giants for their NFC divisional playoff game. Owens sprained his left ankle a few weeks ago against the Carolina Panthers and his status for next weekend’s big playoff game is uncertain.
Of course, his teammates expect him to play, especially if it’s a playoff game against rivals New York Giants.
‘’Absolutely, we’re all counting on him playing,'’ Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten said after a light workout Monday. ‘’He’s a tough guy. Nobody wants it more than he wants it himself to get out there and play. He’s a quick healer, and he looked good out there, I thought.'’
‘’I don’t know if 81 [Owens] is at full strength, but he’s good enough to where he said he was going to practice this week so he can get some timing back and everything,'’ Cowboys wideout Patrick Crayton said.
‘’It’s going to be great to have him back out there on the field,'’ Witten said. ‘’Obviously, he’s our playmaker and he makes all of our jobs easier, and helps our team win.'’
Terrell Owens, the explosive wideout who wears No.81 for the Cowboys, ironically has 81 catches for 1,355 yards and 15 touchdowns, that tops the NFC. Obviously, having him around will be a huge thing for the Cowboys as they try to end this mean streak the New York Giants are in right now.
Who will win this NFC divisional playoff game between the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys? Bodog Sportsbook has the odds.
