Ronaldinho to play for Manchester City?

This way, at least Manchester city will have a new star if Cristiano Ronaldo moves to Real Madrid right?

It seems the 2008-09 English Premier League season just keeps getting interesting by the minute eh? And for some reason, all the big news have come from the city of Manchester so far.

Why? For one, the city has TWO big football clubs. They have the defending English football champions, the Manchester United Red Devils, and that other one simply dubbed as Manchester City.

However, after these developments Ronaldinhothat could land them one of the best Brazilian footballers to ever play the game in Ronaldinho, the team simply tagged as Manchester City could change faster than Paris Hilton can take off her panties.

You read it, new owner and former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra wants the 28-year-old Ronaldinho. This is after Ronaldinho’s Spanish football club, Barcelona, have made it public that the Brazilian phenom is no longer included in their plans for the future.

You see, Ronaldinho has been slowed down by a number of injuries the last few years and Barcelona, after missing out on the title last season, is ready to finally let him go. Manchester City on the other hand, has always played second fiddle to Man-United and they need all the help they can get to get them over the hump.

It simply doesn’t matter to them if that help will come from an injury-plagued footballer who is now merely a shell of his former self.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta confirms that Manchester City wants to have Ronaldinho. However, it seems the English football club is not the only one who wants their guy. Laporta reveals they are studying TWO proposals for the player, with the other one coming from Italian giants AC Milan.

My my…

‘’Ronaldinho has two interesting proposals, although they (Ronaldinho and his agent) are favoring more the Manchester City offer,'’ Laporta said. ‘’Ronaldinho should leave the club with honor, because he was a man who gave Barca fans their excitement back, he excited us all.'’
