The 2008 F1 Season resumes with the Grand Prix of Monaco this Sunday in Monte Carlo
The most grandiose race in Formula One racing is ON this Sunday.
And even though there won’t be much of overtaking again, (like any other race in the past on this very track…) it is still one of the highly anticipated races of the 2008 F1 season.
Yup, you ain’t won shit in motor racing if you don’t have a win in Monaco. The Grand Prix of Monaco is one of the, if not the most prestigious event in the world of motor sports. That’s why the best F1 drivers in the world will go all out to win this one once the five lights illuminate on the 25th of May at the Circuit de Monaco in Monte Carlo.
The Monaco Grand Prix is an event held each year on the Circuit de Monaco since 1929. It is widely considered to be one of the most
important and prestigious automobile races in the world alongside the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans with which forms the Triple Crown of motor sports. All its history, spectacle and glamor result in a race being considered as ”the jewel of the Formula One crown.”
Contenders of the 2008 Monaco Grand Prix will make their way through the streets of Monte Carlo and La Condamine.
One of which is Fernando Alonso, having already won the last two races here, should be one of the big favorites to win this Sunday on the Monte Carlo circuit. It is one of the best tracks on the F1 racing calendar with all the glitz and glamor, as well as the yachts and the beautiful weather, creating a perfect atmosphere for racing.
The track is bumpy and has many elevation changes, tight corners and a narrow course that makes it perhaps the most demanding track of the 2008 F1 season. One small mistake means you go into the wall.
Challenging Fernando Alonso is the defending F1 world champion Kimi Raikkonen. He currently leads the standings for the drivers’ championship and would stop at nothing in adding to that lead.
Who will win the 2008 F1 Drivers Championship? Bodog Sportsbook has the odds.
