The Cleveland Browns admit that they are Quitters after putting up a pathetic 3-6 stand this 2008 NFL Season
Yes, big ones.
After nine games played into the 2008-09 NFL football season, the Cleveland Browns are right behind the 1-8 Bengals for the title ‘’worst team in the AFC North'’ with the dismal 3-6 stand they have put up this year.
Yes, the Cleveland Browns wasted the momentum they were able to have at the end of last season that made virtual unknown Derek Anderson into a bonafide Pro Bowler after firing nothing but blanks in this campaign.
Last Thursday, the Browns looked good offensively for the first time in weeks against a tough Denver Broncos team that’s currently having
their fair share of problems as of late. They were leading 23-13 in the fourth and final quarter and it looked like the Browns were on their way to their fourth win of the season.
Unfortunately for the Browns, for some reason, they just gave up, giving up 21 fourth quarter points to the Denver Broncos, letting Mike Shanahan’s team stay on top of the AFC West. That gave Cleveland the miserable 3-6 mark and at this point, they can’t do shit but admit that they just gave up last Thursday night, right there on their own field.
‘’When you have a team like that that comes into our house and we’re capable of beating them, that’s the first thing that comes to mind,'’ Browns wide receiver Josh Cribbs said.
‘’We can’t figure out what man, but that’s what it looked like, some guys quit. We know if everybody didn’t quit, we would have won that ballgame.'’
Jamal Lewis was the first guy who brought up the notion that his team simply gave up on the field. And being the longtime veteran that Lewis is, his teammates have to agree with his sentiments.
‘’[Lewis’] input is very valuable to this team,'’ Browns linebacker and team captain Andra Davis said. ‘’So if he says something like that, then guys really need to check their egos.'’
