Tom Brady to play New England Patriots Season Opener
Hopefully, he’ll stay the hell away from the probable list this time.
Because the way he tends to stay on that list always makes his fantasy owners skip a heartbeat. And oh yeah, Brady will play for the Patriots to start the 2008-09 NFL football season after suffering another foot injury which he claims is entirely different from the one he got before Super Bowl XLII.
Oh yeah, in case you forgot, Tom Brady was playing with an injured foot then when his then undefeated New England Patriots lost to the New York Giants at the Super Bowl.
As of press time, Brady claims
he’s feeling great and when his Patriots play the New York Giants for their last exhibition game of the preseason on Thursday, you can bet your ass Brady would want to have a part of it.
‘’I'm hoping I’m always out there,'’ Tom Brady said, referring to the preseason games he missed because of the injury, ‘’and if I don’t play, I’ll be ready for Kansas City.'’
The Patriots are scheduled to play the Kansas City Chiefs when they begin their 2008 campaign at Foxboro. Thankfully, the Chiefs are in disarray this season and I’m not expecting Brady to require that much effort from his injured foot to beat those guys.
How bad does New England need Brady? The Patriots are at a dismal 0-3 in the offseason without no.12, and for some reason, the team’s offense, defense and special teams play poorly when he’s not around.
That’s probably the reason why his availability for the season opener against Kansas City is a big deal. For what it’s worth, Brady is confident he’ll be able to play, despite the fact that he missed three preseason games already.
‘’Yeah, I sure do. I’ve been playing a lot of football, so whether you play or don’t play [in the preseason] I’d be ready, no matter what. It’s up to Coach. I was hoping I could play last week,'’ Tom Brady said.
