Tony Romo returns on Sunday Night Football

A return fitting for a superstar.

You read it, after missing the last three games of the 2008-09 NFL football season, Tony Romo will be making his return to the Cowboys lineup, taking over for veteran Brad Johnson who has only been able to lead the team to a 1-2 stand that dropped them dead least in the NFC East.

And since Tony Romo is one of the league’s brightest young superstars, he probably felt that it was only right for him to make his return on primetime, Sunday Night Football, when they resume one of the better rivalries in football with the Washington Redskins.

Talk about being a fan for the dramatic huh? Tony RomoThe question now is, will Romo be able to lead the Dallas Cowboys to a win over one of the hottest teams in the league today.

At 6-3, the Washington Redskins have really put it together since handing this Dallas team its first loss of the season back in Week 4. They are right behind the defending Super Bowl champions Giants for the NFC East lead and as long as that West Coast offense continues to work, the sky’s the limit for this team from the nation’s capital.

For what it’s worth, Romo is confident that his broken pinkie won’t be an issue for this huge Sunday Night Football game. ‘’It’s getting better,'’ Tony Romo said. ‘’Every day it gets a little better and I’m confident that I’ll feel pretty good for the game.'’

And while he’s confident that he’ll be able to make a smooth transition back behind center for Dallas, he’s still bashful about the notion that he’s the cure for all these problems his team suffered the last few weeks playing without him.

‘’We will find out on Sunday,'’ Romo said. ‘’A lot of different people may have gotten to a point where they feel we might not have a chance to do what we hoped to do at the beginning of the year. I think that is something that can bring a team together.'’

Let’s find out if Terrell Owens will finally have more catches now that Romo is back throwing the football.
