Was MLB Star Roger Clemens lying about steroids use?
It turns out that Roger Clemens appears to be lying. That’s according to this 18-page memorandum compiled by congressional staff members.
Uh oh… The Rocket sure is facing a TOUGH OUT even before the 2008 MLB baseball season starts eh? In case you’ve been living under a rock, ‘’the Rocket'’ Roger Clemens is being accused of using baseball’s ‘’most hated'’ drug, steroids. And lately, the schmuck is being accused of lying UNDER OATH.
That means, if Roger Clemens is found guilty of lying under oath, he could be slapped with a perjury case faster than Dwyane Wade getting a foul call from a referee who has a hundred bucks riding with his bookie.
The document, released Wednesday by Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., the majority leader of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, lists ‘’seven sets of assertions'’ the former New York Yankees pitcher made during his Feb.5 deposition and Feb.13 testimony that are ‘’implausible'’ or ‘’appear to be contradicted by other evidence before the Committee.'’
The first of the aforementioned assertions Roger Clemens made could very well be the most important one. He testified under oath that he has never taken steroids. Well, three pieces of evidence tell otherwise.
One, Clemens’ own personal trainer, Brian McNamee, stated that he has injected Clemens with the steroid, Winstrol, ‘’maybe 16 to 20 times'’ in 1998, ‘’more than six times'’ of testosterone in 2000 and testosterone with nandrolone ‘’8 to 14 times'’ in 2001. WTF?!?
This was confirmed by Clemens’ teammates, Andy Pettitte and Chuck Knoblauch, who both admitted that they were injected by Clemens’ trainer as well.
Additional evidence cited to question Clemens’ denial includes statements from Pettitte and his wife, Laura, recounting two separate conversations Andy Pettitte said he had with Clemens about human growth hormone. As well, the memo suggests that medical evidence, records and interviews with trainers and physicians, raises doubts about whether a 1998 mass that developed on Clemens’ right buttocks was caused by a B-12 injection, as the pitcher suggested.
And mind you, this is only assertion No.1 of the seven lies Clemens made. In case you didn’t get it yet, yes, Roger Clemens is fucked, BIG TIME.
