Who will you pick for your NBA Fantasy Teams?

Um… Kobe, then maybe LeBron.

Of course, that’s a given. But for all of you who are still confused on who to draft in your fantasy basketball leagues with the 2008-09 NBA basketball season finally here, we’ve provided a short list for you.

These rankings are based on 9-category leagues (points, assists, rebounds, steals, blocks, three-pointers made, turnovers, FG percentage and FT percentage).

First of the list is LeBron James LeBron Jamesof the Cleveland Cavaliers. King James can be selected anywhere in the top 3 and you could easily justify the pick. Nothing changed in Cleveland, so expect James to do what he has done since his rookie season, dominate.

Add the fact that LeBron James is still an ultimate triple double threat. Last year, he averaged 30 ppg, 7.9 rpg and 7.2 apg. Though his free throw percentages can still be considered a weakness, he’s insanely awesome in everything else. LeBron’s your guy and he doesn’t even have to win games to win in fantasy leagues, OBVIOUSLY.

Next up is the leader of the New Orleans Hornets, Chris Paul. Many people will lobby that he should also be a legitimate No.1 pick because, like LeBron, he’s great at every aspect of the game other than rebounding and blocking shots.

Chris Paul is hands down the best fantasy PG in the game right now, and an argument can be made to take CP3 first overall in a draft. The only problem here is, you’re STILL better off taking James at No.1 since there’s still a lot of decent point guards left when you do take James over Paul with the likes Deron Williams and Chauncey Billups

Following at third is Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Entering his 30s, Kobe Bryant is still at his prime. Having Pau Gasol and a healthy Andrew Bynum will help the Lakers immensely, giving Kobe the opportunity to fill the stat sheet other than scoring with the basketball.

That’s it, the top three guys you can take as your overall No.1 draft pick. Get one of them and you’ll surely dominate the coming fantasy basketball season. Good luck and enjoy people.
