WRONG. After Osi Umenyiora suffered a season-ending knee injury even before the regular season began, the focus quickly shifted to the now retired Michael Strahan, hoping that the leader of the Giants defense will give it another shot to fill in for the injured defensive end.

Will Michael Strahan actually give it another go? The Giants know how important defense was in their Super Bowl title run last season. And those guys know too that the most important piece in that defense is the 36-year-old retired Giant.

Strahan’s agent, Tony Agnone, still doesn’t know if his client will actually give it another shot. Let’s hope Strahan doesn’t do any of those stuff Brett Favre has put us through this offseason.

And since Agnone also represents the injured Umenyiora, it wasn’t really that shocking when the Giants turned to his ‘’other'’ client for help. And unlike the Green Bay Packers, the Giants are more than happy to have one of their long-time veterans play another season for them.

‘’Would I like Michael to be a New York Giant this season? Absolutely. Absolutely,'’ New York Giants co-owner Steve Tisch said. ‘’Will he be? I have no idea. I don’t even want to put a percentage on it.'’
