Your 2007-08 NBA Gambling Guide for Friday

That’s right, more NBA gambling guides for ya’. Hopefully, these things have already earned you a dollar or two.

The 2007-08 NBA basketball season resumes this Friday with a busy 12-game schedule. It starts with the Indiana Pacers, losers of three straight games, visiting the hottest team in the Eastern Conference, the Toronto Raptors at 7:00 pm.

The Toronto Raptors currently hold the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference while the struggling Indiana Pacers are down at the 12th spot. Yes, the Pacers are that bad this season. The Pacers are +10 underdogs coming into this one and since they will be facing a Raptors team that won seven of their last ten games, don’t expect Indiana to win against the spread.

Chris PaulPick the Toronto Raptors to beat the Indiana Pacers.

Next, the boys from the Big Apple visit the Atlanta Hawks. Zach Randolph and the rest of the New York Knicks have a poor record on the road at 6-22, facing a Hawks team that has done fairly well at home. The soaring Atlanta Hawks led by forward Josh Smith tries to notch their second win to hold the final spot in the Eastern Conference.

Pick the Atlanta Hawks to cover against the +6.5 New York Knicks.

Cleveland Cavaliers Superstar LeBron James hit a milestone in his last game, being the youngest in NBA history to reach the 10,000 - point plateau. James, with new teammate Ben Wallace, will try to snap their two game losing streak as they play the Minnesota Timberwolves led by up and coming superstar Al Jefferson. The Timberwolves are 2-8 in their last 10 games while the 2007 NBA Eastern Conference champions from Cleveland are at the .500 mark with 5-5.

Pick the Cleveland Cavaliers to jump on the Timberwolves early for an easy win.

‘’The Big Three'’ of the Boston Celtics, led by Kevin Garnett, battles the road weary Charlotte Bobcats at the TD Banknorth Garden. The Celtics have won three straight since KG’s return and they should have no problems taking care of business at home.

Pick the Boston Celtics to bitch-slap the Charlotte Bobcats.

The 8 p.m. game features two Eastern Conference teams as the Washington Wizards visit the Chicago Bulls. Antawn Jamison will still be carrying the load for Washington with Gilbert Arenas and Caron Butler still out. The new-look Chicago Bulls, on the other hand, will try to gain some momentum for a playoff push as they sit at the 10th spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Chicago Bulls will be at home but I’m not expecting this team to cover the -5 spread against the Washington Wizards come game time.

Two powerhouse teams from the Western Conference collide as the New Orleans Hornets host the Utah Jazz at the Big Easy. Both teams are coming off huge wins in their last games. Hornets’ Chris Paul will go up against 2008 NBA Skills Challenge Champion Deron Williams as both players will try to lead their teams to a big win.

I’m picking the New Orleans Hornets to cover the -3.5 spread against the Utah Jazz.

Next, Jason Kidd and the Dallas Mavericks host the Sacramento Kings, a team that just can’t seem to get it together on the road. The Kings are only 9-21 on the road, visiting a Mavericks team that went 24-3 in Dallas at this point of the season.

Pick the Dallas Mavericks to cover the -9.5 spread over the Sacramento Kings.

The Houston Rockets, the hottest team in the league right now, play the Memphis Grizzlies, a team that lost SIX STRAIGHT GAMES. Tracy McGrady will lead the charge for the Rockets, who lost Yao Ming for the rest of the season. T-Mac should be enough to hand Memphis their seventh straight disappointment.

The Houston Rockets are heavily favored in this one at -13. Expect them to cover and beat the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Philadelphia 76ers, led by high flying guard Andre Igoudala, visit Baron Davis and the Golden State Warriors at the 10:30 p.m. game. The Warriors are currently holding the final playoff spot in the very competitive Western Conference and I’m not expecting them to slip against Philly.

Pick the Golden State Warriors to cover the -6 spread against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The current No.1 team in the Western Conference, the Los Angeles Lakers, go up against the Portland Trail Blazers, who will be missing the services of Brandon Roy. The Lakers have won their last nine outings out of the possible 10 and should have no problems whatsoever beating the Brandon Roy - less Blazers.

Pick the Los Angeles Lakers to literally destroy the Portland Trail Blazers at the Rose Garden.

Two struggling teams battle it out as the Miami Heat visit the Seattle SuperSonics. Dwayne Wade and the rest of the Heat won their last game with a bang as they won big against the Sacramento Kings. I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt in their next game.

Pick the Miami Heat, +1 underdogs, to beat the Seattle SuperSonics.

In the final game, the Los Angeles Clippers go the Mile High City of Denver to play Allen Iverson, Carmelo Anthony and the rest of the Denver Nuggets. The Clippers are still suffering from three straight losses while the Nuggets are gaining momentum after winning their last game to settle at 5-5 in their last ten.

Pick the Denver Nuggets to beat the Los Angeles Clippers
