A Kevin Garnett – Stephon Marbury reunion in Boston?

seth-edward-oneal.jpgIt’s possible people.

While the drama between Stephon Marbury and the New York Knicks organization continues this 2009 NBA basketball season, the idea of Stephon reuniting with Kevin Garnett, his former teammate in Minnesota, in Boston is quickly becoming a reality than a possibility.

You read it, the Boston Celtics have intentions of signing the Knicks disgruntled guard Stephon Marbury and if the Celtics management really really wants him, they have Kevin Garnett’s blessing.

After all, Kevin Garnett knows what Kevin Garnett Stephon MarburyMarbury can bring on the court. They were two-thirds of the young three-headed monster the Minnesota Timberwolves once had a few years ago when KG and Starbury, together with Tom Gugliotta, once formed one of the most formidable threesomes in basketball.

Oh yeah, KG was disappointed too when the Wolves organization decided to let Stephon Marbury go. That was the start of quite a long spell for KG trying to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to the playoffs by his lonesome.

Now that he’s a world champion still playing for a legitimate title contender in Boston with two other guys that can definitely take the burden off him offensively, you can bet your ass he’s more than happy about the idea of reuniting with Stephon Marbury in a Celtic uniform.

”I’m not opposed to Steph. I feel Steph still has a lot of basketball in him, I know his IQ is very, very high. He is one of the best point guards out there to play with. I wouldn’t be opposed to that,” Kevin Garnett said.

Of course, Stephon could care less. As far as he’s concerned, he’s just waiting for a team, any team, to save him from Mike D’ Antoni and the New York Knicks.

KG was asked that if he would take his non-opposition a step further and outright endorse the possible acquisition of his former teammate, KG put the brakes on.

”I know where this is going, ya’ll. Y’all relax, OK?” Garnett told a small crowd of reporters. ”If Steph came to this team and made it better, I’m all for that. If anybody came to his team and made it better, I would be for that.”

Maybe Latrell Sprewell will also have an available spot for him in Boston eh?

I’ll say, mate… My brother would find this good

Boston picking up Marbury might not be that bad a move. Like mentioned above Marbury and KG are former teamates. KG is the emotional leader on Boston and most likely the locker room. It’s not that Marbury is a bad teamate or would be a total caner, it’s his problem with authority. Coaches like Brown or D’Antonio do not mix well well players like Marbury but things could work out with Rivers and his personality. Plus Marbury has to be after a ring and would probably do anything for this opportunity.
