The New York Giants have been marginally successful the first month of the regular season going 11-9 ATS in their last 20 September games, but more recently are 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS in their last five games in September.
The Cowboys seem to get off to better starts going 15-5 SU and 13-7 ATS in their last 20 games during September.
Next, we have the Minnesota Vikings going up against the Green Bay Packers. Rumors continue to circulate about Brett Favre landing in Minnesota to play for the Vikings. Fuel was further added to the fire when ESPN reported that the Favre family was seeking accommodations in the Green Bay, Wisconsin area during the same weekend (November 1, 2009) that a game between the Vikings and the Packers are scheduled at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.
Is it just a coincidence? Would you spend a weekend in early-November in Wisconsin? Regardless if Brett Favre actually dons the purple jersey, the Vikings – Packers game at the frozen Lambeau tundra in Week 8 should still be intriguing.
As it stands, the Green Bay Packers are favored by a field goal.
The Vikings have struggled in their last 20 road games, going 8-10-2 ATS while the Packers have gone 11-8-1 ATS in their last 20 at home.
While Minnesota has struggled on Lambeau Field its last 20 games, going 7-13 straight up, they are a marginally profitable, going 11-9 ATS during the same time and more recently, they have been very profitable, sporting a 7-2 ATS mark in their last nine visits. But make a note if you are going to bet this game early. In their last 20 games as an underdog of 4-points or less, the Vikes have struggled mightily, going 4-16 straight up and only 6-12-2 against the spread.
