One Fan still believes Roger Federer will be No.1 again

seth-edward-oneal.jpgI guess the way Rafael Nadal has been hogging all the spotlight lately has been pissing this fan off eh?

STILL, the fan believes that it’s only a matter of time before Roger Federer once again becomes the no.1 tennis player in the world. And with the 2009 French Open at Roland Garros only a few more weeks away, Federer needs these kinds of stuff to motivate him on clay.

Stanislas Wawrinka, Roger Federer’s Olympic Games gold medal-winning compatriot, believes the Swiss superstar will be rejuvenated as a tennis player due to marriage and impending fatherhood.

Roger FedererThis was after Wawrinka eliminated the Swiss star in Monte Carlo.

Roger Federer who is still searching for a first title in 2009, made a last-minute change to his scheduling decision, taking a wild card into the Monte Carlo Masters clay court tournament probably to ready himself for Roland Garros.

The 13-time Grand Slam title winner arrived at Monte Carlo just two days after marrying longtime girlfriend Mirka Vavrinec, who is expecting the couple’s first child in the summer, in his hometown of Basel.

Roger Federer lost his Monte Carlo third round match against his friend Wawrinka, who was Federer’s doubles partner in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

It was an easy win for Wawrinka as Federer made lot of errors. The game ended 6-4 7-5. Wawrinka won in straight sets and he feels that it was the best win he has ever accomplished.

Federer is without a title since Basel last October and has been battling a growing army of critics who doubt he will ever regain top spot as age, a suspect back and rivals such as Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray strengthen their pressure.

STILL, for some reason, Wawrinka believes Federer will return back to form, no matter how easy it was to beat the guy during the Monte Carlo Masters.

I wish great sportsmen would all quit at the top! Or fade away gently into the seniors. He could of course win another masters event but just don’t kill yourself trying to outgun the young guys!
