SportsBetting.com has some interesting betting props for the Florida Gators - Oklahoma Sooners face-off

The biggest college football game of the year is this Thursday and SportsBetting.com is on top of it.

Since everything in college football all boils down to the 2009 BCS national championship game this Thursday, it was only fitting for our friends from SportsBetting.com (you know, those guys badgering us to bombard you with links every now and then…) to have quite some interesting propositions for you to bet on before the big game.

Dolphin Stadium in Miami will be the place for the BCS title game where two high-octane teams will collide as the Florida Gators take on the Oklahoma Sooners. It’s going to be a good one since the Sooners have already ran their mouths before facing their rivals from Florida, claiming that Gators quarterback Tim Tebow is probably the fourth best QB… in the Big 12. He he…

Sam Bradford and Tim TebowThe two teams earned their spots in the title game by dominating college football over the final two months. The second-ranked Oklahoma Sooners (12-1) scored at least 58 points in each of its last six games, winning by an average of 33.3 points. The Sooners, winners of seven in a row overall, pounded then-unbeaten Texas Tech 65-21 on Nov. 22, and followed that with blowouts of then-No.11 Oklahoma State and then-No.19 Missouri in the Big 12 title game.

The top-ranked Florida Gators (12-1), meanwhile, won their final nine games and knocked off then-No.1 Alabama in the SEC championship game to earn a chance to play for its second BCS title in three seasons.

And as stated, SportsBetting.com is offering quite a few interesting propositions for you to bet on, starting with this little betting prop on the team to score first.

Here, I will have to go with the Florida Gators. Aside from the fact that Florida running backs are already good, their running game also has that one other threat in quarterback Tim Tebow, a guy who can beat you as good on the ground as well as in the air. Percy Harvin is the feature back in the Florida offense. Sure, his health has been questionable in the last few games but if he is at 100 percent by game time, look for him to have about 15 carries for eighty yards and one touchdown. Aside from the Gator ground attack, Chris Rainey and Jeffery Demps also had solid seasons for the Gator backfield. They are not as explosive and powerful as the Oklahoma backs, but with Tebow throwing to them, scoring should be a breeze.

Will the first score of the game be a touchdown?

Yes, this time I will go for Oklahoma scoring the first TD of the contest. Oklahoma has much better running backs than Florida. Chris Brown and Demarco Murray rushed for over 1,000 yards each for the Sooners. The pair of backs rushed for 34 touchdowns combined. Brown knows how to find the smallest of holes and once he gets through the hole, he can accelerate and avoid tacklers. Look for both of the star running backs to each get ten to fifteen carries.

Who will score the first touchdown for his team?

Since we’ve already went with Oklahoma scoring the first TD, we would have to go with either of their two running backs getting to the endzone first for Boomer Sooner nation. But if we had to choose one of ‘em, Chris Brown is our solid choice.

How much will the margin of victory be for the winning team?

Odds from SportsBetting.com were released and here’s what they have:

Florida Win By 01-03 pts - 7-2

Florida Win By 04-06 pts - 4-1

Florida Win By 07-10 pts - 7-1

Oklahoma Win By 01-03 pts - 9-2

Oklahoma Win By 04-06 pts - 7-1

Oklahoma Win By 07-10 pts - 10-1

What will be the first scoring play of the game?

Probably the first scoring play of the game will be a touchdown, it’s hard to predict on which team will it come from but when these two high-powered offenses meet, expect a run and gun play and a lot of trips to the endzone.

How much will the total points be scored by both teams?

Our final score is Florida: 41, Oklahoma: 34. SportsBetting.com has 7-2 odds for that one with the total points scored by both teams ranging from 71-77 markers.

Which team will win the first half? The game?

Florida will dominate this game all throughout and thus winning the elusive crown in college football.
