Who else other than Alex Rodriguez have taken Steroids?

seth-edward-oneal.jpgMake that A-Roid.

And in case you’ve been living under a rock, we already had the latest bombshell about this entire steroids mess blown even before the 2009-10 MLB baseball season had the chance to kick-off with Alex Rodriguez now being questioned for steroids use back in the 2003 season.

Yes, Alex Rodriguez back in 2003, was fueled by performance-enhancing drugs when he won the AL home run title and Most Valuable Player award while playing for the Texas Rangers.

Good thing MLB baseball had no steroids Alex Rodriguezpolicies then. You see, it was only in January of 2004 when the league announced a new steroid policy which included random, off season testing and 10-day suspensions for first-time offenders, 30-days for second-time offenders, 60-days for third-time offenders, and one year for fourth-time offenders, all without pay, in an effort to curtail performance-enhancing drug use in professional baseball.

This policy strengthened baseball’s pre-existing ban on controlled substances, including steroids, which was in effect since 1991. The policy was to be reviewed in 2008, but under pressure from the U.S. Congress, on November 15, 2005, players and owners agreed to tougher penalties; a 50-game suspension for a first offense, a 100-game suspension for a second, and a lifetime ban for a third.

Here’s a list of some of the big names MLB players listed in the Mitchell Report. And since ya’ll already knew that Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens also used these stuff, we wouldn’t be including their name here.

After all, Roger Clemens have more than enough stuff to deal with anyway these days.

The following players were connected to steroids, either of use or in possession, according to the now infamous Mitchell Report. The players listed are David Justice, Chuck Knoblauch, Paul Lo Duca, Miguel Tejada, David Segui and Andy Pettitte.

The following players were cited under ”Alleged Internet Purchases of Performance Enhancing Substances By Players in Major League Baseball” in the report; David Bell, Jose Canseco, Jay Gibbons and Gary Matthews Jr.

These players were linked through BALCO in the report. The players listed are; Jason Giambi, Jerry Giambi, Benito Santiago, Gary Sheffield and Randy Velarde.

Whew! That sure are a lot of names for a sport I couldn’t go through without dozing off to sleep.
