The Olympics is here and as always, it’s all about Team USA.
Heading to the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, there’s no question that the sport Team USA is expected to win for sure is basketball with reigning NBA Most Valuable Player awardee and world champion LeBron James leading the US basketball team.
LeBron James is, without a shadow of a doubt, the biggest name in the world of basketball. But he is without controversy.
After starting his career in Ohio with the Cleveland Cavaliers, he moved to South Beach to join the Miami Heat, announcing his decision to make the move on national television that raised a lot of people’s eyebrows, making him one of the most despised player in the NBA.
After helping the Miami Heat win the 2012 NBA world title this season, he probably turned some of his haters into fans and I have a feeling he’ll get some more new fans if he can help Team USA win the gold in the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games.
But if you have to name one country that can challenge the USA for most number of gold won, you can’t go wrong with China.
China is that big of a threat to Team USA heading to the premier showcase of the world’s best that one of the organizers of this year’s Olympic Games, specifically London Organizing Committee Chief Sebastian Coe, expects China to top it this year and beat the Americans.
Can China beat the USA? Or will we see another nation come out on top in the 2012 London Olympic Games? The biggest sporting event of the year is here sports fans! Enjoy.
