Second Life, that virtual community of, like, 8 million virtual residents who trade virtually and even have sex virtually. Now they’re being deprived of one popular virtual activity, virtual online gambling.
For un-virtually uninterested dude like me, it’s virtual insanity!
Because normal people don’t get off in the virtual world. That’s for people with no life to look forward to. My advice to these guys, go out with real people, get drunk with real people, and for God’s sake have sex with real people!
And what’s
the next best thing after getting banned from gambling virtually? Go to a real online casino site and play for real. If you don’t want to, well you can always spend those Linden dollars buying stocks at the World Stock Exchange.
Linden Labs, the company responsible for Second Life, has announced as its new ruling the banning of participating in online gambling activities. This comes two months after they made another rule saying it would no longer tolerate “broadly offensive” sexual content in the once free-wheeling world. Punishment for violators is expulsion from ‘The World’. story
Well if they’re gonna act like some cranky-white-right-wing…

We’re all getting cranky with this UIGEA, and I know that in countries where online casino gambling is banned, the sentiments are the same.
But like Michael Crichton said, “Life will always find a way.” Now I know he meant it to describe how gigantic dinosaurs can spring back to life, which we don’t want to happen, but it can be applied to other stuff as well. Like online gambling.
They may invent every crazy ways of sending online gaming to extinction, but they won’t necessarily cut off its head. Players and industry players will only find better ways to keep Internet casinos alive. So to say it loudly, we keep getting smarter while the enemies keep getting dumber.
For example, have you heard of “proxy betting“? Somewhere in the northern tip of the Philippines, Internet gaming companies allow players from all over the world to bet on their favorite games, like black jack and baccarat, via proxies. How? With Web Casinos.
Games and tournaments are video streamed online where players can watch from where they are. At the same time, their “proxies” do the betting for them based on their instructions using a VOIP (voice over Internet protocol).
Make no mistake, web gambling is still banned in the Philippines as well as…

EDITOR’S NOTE: Please welcome Mr. Seth Edward O’Neal, the latest jackass to join our crew. His first assignment? Help ya’ll win at blackjack. Go easy on him mmmkay?
Blackjack is one of the most popular table games in every casino. And yes, with blackjack being as popular as it is today, there are already a number of books telling you what you should do to rule a blackjack table.
But as good as those guys are, blackjack is STILL a game of luck. That means, it won’t matter if you know every single tip in the book. It’s casino gambling, a game of chance, and I surely won’t be one of those people telling you that if you follow my stuff, you’ll be a blackjack champion in every Las Vegas Casino for sure.
I can’t do that. But I’ll certainly HELP you become one.
First thing you should do is set yourself a limited bankroll amount that you are prepared to part with in the session that you are playing. Even if you are doing well, discipline yourself not to keep on going, make sure you stop while you are ahead. Everybody knows that.
DO NOT reinvest your winnings back into the game. Not only will it confuse you how much you’ve already won but it will also leave you with nothing once you step out of that casino.

Poker takes time, something a powerless king has a lot of.
Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev is the King of Nepal, since June 4, 2001, to the present. He was a dictator, seizing total government control in February 2005. Popular pressure caused him to reinstate the Nepalese parliament in April 2006, whereupon he was stripped of all political power and made into a ceremonial monarch.
King Gyanendra turned 59 on July 7 this year, three months after giving up tyranny. So what’s he up to lately? Online poker and blackjack, apparently. Indian newspaper Jana Aastha Weekly reports the emasculated royalty has turned to online gambling to take his mind off his blues.
What sort of blues? The newspaper reveals King Gyanendra suffers from depression, fluctuating blood pressure, and insomnia. Using international credit cards, he’s been prowling the online poker gambling sites and Internet blackjack casinos until three a.m., looking to drown his sorrows in 21’s and Straight Flushes.
Did he try for the World Series of Poker (WSOP)? We have to wonder.
What doesn’t make us wonder as much is why he’s so blue. Nepal King Gyanendra’s rise to power was a tad shady, to say the least. This story involves too many same-sounding names so keep up.
The first time Gyanendra was declared King of…

WAKE UP. Every Casino has a built-in EDGE.
Yup, no matter how good you are in gambling, casinos have a built-in edge on every gaming option. THAT means, casinos ONLY offer games which insure that they will WIN more money FROM players than they will lose TO players.
Yup, and that, my friend, is a fact. And that built-in profit that allows casinos to become a profitable business is what they call the dreaded CASNO EDGE.
Whaddaya’ think, that casinos are there to give ya’ll money? Of course not. If casinos do that, then why did they put up this kind of business anyway?
So what do you do to beat this casino edge?
Easy.
Just play the games that have the LOWEST casino edges. Yup, that means, these are the games that give the player, or the gambler if you will, the BEST chances of winning.
You can’t force the casino to play by the rules, giving itself a mere 50-50 chance of beating you or that other guy throwing the dice like a jackass as if he’s Peyton Manning or…

Michael Jordan is the most electrifying basketball player the National Basketball Association (NBA) have ever seen.
Together with Scottie Pippen, Michael Jordan became the standard in which basketball greatness was measured. Yes, Michael Jordan is great but who knew that he will continue his dominion over mere earthlings outside the basketball court?
(Jeez… enough already! This generation saw enough of Michael Jordan already… puh-leeze…)
Michael Jordan turned a $500,000 deficit into a whopping $800,000 gain during a famous run at the blackjack table in the Mohegan Sun Casino. This yet another Jordan feat showed up in…

Ever been on a blackjack rush at the casino? If the deck hits you square in the face, you’ll never forget it and will chase that feeling every time you walk back into a casino. Bobby Bracelet has fed off the adrenaline before, and chronicles his attempt to break the Bellagio at the blackjack tables:
"We began playing and I remember losing at first. And I don’t write it like that for any sort of effect. I honestly don’t remember some of the night.

Just what any progressive college newspaper needs: a gambling column. That’s what we have from the California State University paper The Orion as columnist Laurence Tognetti dishes out some keg-stand wisdom about Blackjack, aptly geared to the giggling sorority sister in all of us. We wouldn’t exactly call some of his tips pearls of wisdom or anything, but it’s useful nonetheless to photocopy and stick in the pocket of your idiot friend the next time you decide to head to Atlantic City. Another suggestion would be to stay away from Blacjack all together since the house is always at a huge advantage. Oh, and also never swallow live goldfish. They lay eggs in your stomach and sometimes you poop guppies.

When we asked our favorite gambling bloggers to come up with lessons they could pass along to the youth of today, who would have thought their mistakes would all be alcohol-induced? Well, if you know Iggy from Guinness and Poker, it starts to make a lot of sense. Here’s Iggy:
When I moved to Las Vegas on my 25th birthday, I knew nothing about the city beyond what I had seen in Kojak re-runs.
I quickly learned a lot. I learned that drinks are free in the casino if you are gambing. I like free drinks like a fat kid loves cake.
