Yes, Reggie Bush has been added to the list of injured stars we have this year.
And to think that we’re not even at the halfway point of the 2008-09 NFL football season. With Bush out, the New Orleans Saints are in for even darker days, starting with a game against the red hot Chargers next Sunday.
After losing to the Carolina Panthers 30-7, the New Orleans Saints found out that starting running back Reggie Bush will need arthroscopic knee surgery that could sideline him for several weeks.
Bush injured the meniscus in his left knee on
a punt return late in the first half. He reversed field on his run, ending when he stepped out of bounds on the Panthers’ sideline. Then the rest of his New Orleans Saints teammates gasped as they watched Bush favor his left leg after the play.
‘’The plan is to scope it. We’ll have this week and then the bye week and we’ll see where he’s at,'’ New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton said. ‘’Right now, we’re going to have to evaluate it and go from there.'’
Reggie Bush had 55 yards on nine carries, caught one pass for five yards and had a 3.5 average on three punt returns against the Panthers. Coach Payton said…

Probably because people will find out how utterly miserable he is from the foul line. In case those guys don’t know already.
The 2008-09 NBA basketball season is almost here and Shaquille O’Neal is still scared shitless of going to the foul line and shoot (or at least tries to…) his free throws.
Yes, the former Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat and now, Phoenix Suns center of attraction, Shaquille O’Neal, is not a fan of being forced to the foul line to shoot 15 feet away from the hoop with the infamous Hack-a-Shaq strategy teams have started to use against him.
Specifically speaking, Shaq wasn’t a fan
of the strategy the San Antonio Spurs used against him in last season’s playoffs where he had the Phoenix Suns leading handily only to hand the lead back to San Antonio after the Spurs intentionally fouled him each time they get.
That was more than a few months ago and apparently, the Phoenix Suns center is still fuming about it.
‘’The only thing I call cowardly is when you’re up by 10 and do it,'’ Shaquille O’Neal said. ‘’That’s a coward move and [Spurs coach Gregg Popovich] knows…'’

Zarkava. Jeez… These guys can sure name their horses eh?
The last big weekend of horse betting action before the Breeders’ Cup on October 24th and 25th saw Zarkava win the $5.5 million dollar Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp in Paris.
He upset a couple of horses that were expected to head to the 2008 Breeders’ Cup in Soldier of Fortune and Duke of Marmalade. Youmzain finished second in the race while Soldier of Fortune and Its Gino dead-heated for third and fourth. Duke of Marmalade finished seventh.
Zarkava became the first filly to win the Arc since Urban Sea won in 1993. ‘’We had no worries,'’ said trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre.
‘’She is certainly the best horse I have ever trained.'’
Zarkava is not expected to race again this year.
Elsewhere, Bittel Road is looking good heading to the 2008 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf after winning the Grade 3, $200,000 Woodford Reserve Bourbon Stakes. Bittel Road is now three for three in victories and could be a serious contender in the Juvenile. The horse went off at even money in the Bourbon and won by a head under Rajiv Maragh, who substituted for John Velazquez who was hurt.
‘’That was an exceptional finish,'’ Maragh said.
Also, Vineyard Haven was totally dominant in winning the $400,000…

Apparently, Adam ‘’Pacman'’ Jones found himself in the middle of a situation all too familiar to him.
After looking quite a solid addition to the Cowboys after five weeks into the 2008-09 NFL football season, Pacman Jones got himself into some sort of scuffle involving him and his bodyguard a few days ago.
The Dallas Cowboys cornerback got into a childish brawl with his bodyguard (for crying out loud…) Tuesday night in the bathroom of an upscale Dallas hotel. What was the argument all about? We didn’t care to find out.
And the Cowboys shouldn’t be either.
What these guys should be concerned about is the availability of Adam ‘’Pacman'’ Jones for this Sunday’s game against the Cardinals. Thankfully, the Cowboys front office didn’t make a big deal out of it which means he’ll play. (Whew!)
An internal investigation conducted by the Cowboys concluded that Adam Jones was not in violation of his contract or even the understanding about conduct he had with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. And no, Adam and Jerry are not related.
‘’They were literally kidding each other,'’ Jerry Jones said Thursday. ‘’They were jiving around…'’

Well, what’s left of it anyway. And yes, he’ll try to salvage what’s left of his aging career when he meets the undefeated middleweight king.
Future Hall-of-Famer and once a two-division world champion, Bernard ‘’The Executioner'’ Hopkins will meet undefeated world middleweight champion Kelly ‘’The Ghost'’ Pavlik on October 18 at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall in what is shaping up to be a good one, to say the least.
Hopkins, known as the one of the greatest middleweights of all time, has a 48-5-1 record with 32 wins coming from knockouts. He has held the world title as a middleweight and light heavyweight every year since 1995. Now over 40, he’s trying to rekindle the greatness he once had against Kelly ‘’The Ghost'’ Pavlik. Can he overcome and shock the world?
Dating back in 2006, Hopkins moved from middleweight to light heavyweight and quickly made some noise by beating Antonio Tarver. He continued his domination of the squared circle by winning a 170-pound bout against then title contender Winky Wright. But after losing his title to Jermain ‘’Bad Intentions'’ Taylor, Hopkins’ descend from the top began.
Although he lost again in his last bout as a light heavyweight, losing to Joe Calzaghe a few months ago, he is still determined to be on top of the sport again. Beating a world champion like Pavlik could do that.
In order to beat Pavlik, Hopkins needs two things…

In case you haven’t heard, yes, Pavlik and Hopkins are on this October.
The reigning middleweight champion of the world, Kelly ‘’The Ghost'’ Pavlik, is set to go one on one with Bernard ‘’The Executioner'’ Hopkins on October 18 at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City in what could be the fight that will definie just how good of a champion Pavlik is.
Still undefeated at a perfect 34-0, Kelly ‘’The Ghost'’ Pavlik moved up in weight to face Hopkins for the 170-pound titular showdown. Pavlik has been compared to an express train as he continues to awe boxing fans with his stellar performances courtesy of his supreme aggressive ring style, jaw-breaking punches and almost 90 percent knock-out ratio.
Of course, he already did something
Hopkins failed at, TWICE, that’s beating Jermain ‘’Bad Intentions'’ Taylor to keep the middleweight title. So how can a champion like this guy beat up a 43-year-old man? Hmm…
For Kelly Pavlik to win this match, Pavlik must take advantage of his speed and quickness being the younger fighter. Hopkins is a slick veteran with a bunch of boxing tricks in his bag, that’s why Pavlik shouldn’t try to brawl with Hopkins but instead, be patient and wait for openings Hopkins just might give up. Pavlik has one way to fight, defense with straight-forward throwing punches.
When he is in range, he lets the big ones fly. He should not change that, that’s the style that catapulted him to the upper echelons of…

Wait… Shamrock? He’s still fighting?
Apparently he is, and this Saturday we’ll see him go toe-to-toe against Kimbo Slice in an EliteXC extravaganza. No, we have no idea what EliteXC is either other than the fact that its one of those media giants trying to cash in on the UFC’s success. As far as Shamrock is concerned, BOY, I hope this guy is insured.
After becoming one of the best fighters in the UFC, Ken Shamrock has been reduced to a shell of his former self. He has this pathetic five-fight losing streak since making his debut in the EliteXC and signing himself up for a fight against a guy like Kimbo Slice is just dumbfounding.
For what it’s worth, Shamrock is
confident as always. And despite losing five straight fights in a cage, he believes he will be the first one to beat Kimbo this Saturday night.
‘’I'm gonna be too fast for him,'’ Ken Shamrock said. ‘’He’s gonna eat my punches and kicks.'’
Quite confident huh? And for some reason, he’s not worried about the fact that during this five-fight losing skid he’s been having, he failed to survive past the very first round in each of them.
WOW.
‘’The only time he knocks anyone out is when they get tired,'’ Ken Shamrock said. ‘’I don’t respect his power or grappling ability. I’m gonna go in there and whip [him].'’
It is no surprise that Shamrock is once again confident that his mastery of…

Here we go again, the most successful driver in F1 the last few years just might join the most successful constructor the last few years after all.
Of course, if you’ve been following Formula One, rumors claiming Fernando Alonso will join Ferrari broke out in the middle of the 2008 F1 season and now that the racing year is about to come to a close, these rumors for some reason have begun to come alive again.
Apparently, Fernando Alonso can’t wait to drive for Ferrari probably because he’s so pissed at McLaren after he was basically replaced by the team for a younger guy last season that he’s ready to join McLaren’s rivals Ferrari and hurt them where it hurts the most, on the racetrack.
Alonso was rumored to join Ferrari at the end of the 2009 season. Some even suggested that the move could take place as early as at the end of this season with Kimi Raikkonen looking to leave F1 for rally racing.
When Ferrari extended the contracts of both Raikkonen and Felipe Massa for 2010, the rumored move of Alonso to Ferrari ultimately died down because of the mere fact that if both Raikkonen and Massa will still be with Ferrari until 2010, that will leave Alonso without any spot left with the Italian giant.
Until now.
Apparently, Spanish banking giant Banco Santander, who happens to…

Yep, apparently, Shaq is ready to call it a career.
Unfortunately, he’ll still be giving it a go in the coming 2008-09 NBA basketball season because after making it public that he still has 735 days from retirement, that’ll mean he’s giving himself, um… one… two…, two more seasons before calling it quits.
But hey, that’s OK I guess. It could be worse, like spending the last two years of your career in a shithole like Miami playing for what comes out of that shithole like the Heat. Fortunately for Shaq, the Phoenix Suns saved him at this point of his career, giving him at least a shot of salvaging what’s left of it.
‘’My basketball career will be over
in 735 days,'’ Shaquille O’Neal said. ‘’And being an educated man, I’ve always had things to fall back on. So one of my options is law enforcement.'’
You read it, Shaq wants to be a cop when he gives up trying to shoot them free throws. And while seeing a seven-foot, 300-pound police officer is intimidating to say the least, trying to understand the words coming out of his mouth every single time he utters, ‘’you have the right to remain silent'’ just might fuck up the police bit.
STILL, Shaq is determined to be an officer of the law and since he’ll likely join the LAPD, that’ll at least lessen the…

Yes, you read it, because he’s going to move in with one.
The 2008 F1 season is almost over and McLaren - Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton is still leading by just two points. He has 76 championship points to Felipe Massa’s 74, his closest competitor, with only five more races to go.
Yep, it seems it was only yesterday when a young rookie named Lewis Hamilton entered Formula One last season to compete as a solid backup to then McLaren no.1 driver, two-time champion Fernando Alonso.
Not many people expected Hamilton
to be this good that early. Hell, he was so good that he eventually became the premiere driver for McLaren - Mercedes, forcing the double world champion to return to Renault where he won his two world titles with.
And while Felipe Massa could give Hamilton a run for his money this season, many people are still expecting the young British sensation to win his first F1 world title in only his second year in Formula One.
Yep, the guy sure has it all. Which will probably make you hate the guy even more after learning what I have to share with you.
Aside from tearing up the tracks in Formula One, Lewis Hamilton will now have the privilege…
