It’s election day.
And while most of you probably could care less who will you be voting for, (especially if you’re a Dallas Cowboys fan still reeling over Romo’s injury…) the U.S. Presidential election begins with two choices, an aging version of George W. Bush and a black guy trying to fool us into thinking that he likes Snoop Dogg.
And for those of you who didn’t get that, that’s John McCain and Barack Obama. McCain is the aging Republican who will probably just continue hating on other countries, keeping oil prices ridiculously expensive in the process once he becomes President, while the other one is Obama, the black Democrat who continues to promote ‘’change'’ by probably having guys like Ice Cube and Michael Jordan under his Cabinet once he gets elected.
Choosing the lesser evil is probably the right way to go if you’re looking to vote one guy over the other to become the next U.S. President. So what are the difference between these two jackoffs? Let’s start with what they plan to do with the faltering economy shall we?
As a Republican, John McCain is in favor of lowering taxes and cutting government spending. Obama on the other hand, wants to increase government revenue by rescinding Bush’s tax cuts on wealthy Americans and of course, finally ending the war in Iraq.
McCain’s economic plan calls for extending the Bush Administration’s tax cuts, eliminating the Alternative Minimum Tax and…

Wha?!?
For a guy like Hulk Hogan who clearly has the hots for his own daughter that he got himself a girlfriend that looks like her, and Kimbo Slice who just plain looks weird, coming up with a kids’ movie that stars both of them was just unthinkable.
Who in the right frame of mind will choose to have these guys star in a kids’ movie anyway? Stereo Vision Entertainment, Inc. (OTCBB: SVSN) has, announcing that the undefeated (and scary) Mixed Martial Arts star Kimbo Slice will co-star with the somewhat sick Hulk Hogan in a 3D kids’ comedy, ‘’Kung Fu U.'’
‘’Kung Fu U‘’ in 3D is a
Disney-type comedy about of a bunch of nerds and misfits that are sent away by their wealthy parents to the Brentwood Academy (a.k.a. Kung Fu U) to learn the finer arts of self-defense.
It’s a heart-warming romp where the rather weathered warriors come to the rescue for the kids, and in turn, the kids rescue the warriors’ seemingly lost souls from what had been their eternal apathy.
It’s a feel-good story that aims to reminds us that we’re…

And while stories about people switching poker teams rarely land on the pages of OddJack, it’s Shannon Elizabeth and that’s reason enough.
Shannon Elizabeth turned heads with her roles in the Scary Movie, Tomcats, and Cursed. She also appeared in That ’70s Show and appeared in Playboy and Maxim magazines.
If her name still doesn’t ring a bell, think of the name Nadia, Shannon Elizabeth’s role as the sultry foreign exchange student in the comedy, American Pie is hard to forget.
Well, here’s hoping her opponents at the poker table forget lest they start folding their winning hands in an effort to win the heart of the Hollywood pin-up girl, who for some reason, plays poker very very good.
Fresh from her appearance in the hilarious poker film The Grand, Shannon Elizabeth is now ready to take on real-life poker on a serious level.
This ‘Dancing with the Stars’ beauty is the most recent member of DoylesRoom’s celebrity roster. She is certainly a welcome addition to Team Brunson’s already potent mix of acclaimed poker professionals and card-playing celebrities.
But don’t start thinking Shannon Elizabeth was chosen for her beauty alone.
In the poker community, Shannon has been slowly making a…

Big Brown having this advantage sure came at the right time eh?
For all ya’ll who didn’t know, Big Brown injured his left front hoof heading to the 140th Belmont Stakes. Yep, just like Tom Brady heading to Super Bowl XLII, the dominant force was wearing a ‘’special boot'’ heading possibly to the biggest event of his career. Luckily for Big Brown, it seems lady luck is smiling at him yet again.
After having the worst possible scenario back at the Kentucky Derby, when Big Brown drew the last and final gate at Churchill Downs, and again coming up with a rather dreadful position at the middle of the Preakness Stakes, this year’s Triple Crown contender finally was lucky enough to draw Gate No.1 for the Belmont Stakes, giving him a clearer shot of winning the Triple Crown title at Belmont Park, with or without the front hoof injury.
You read it people, the odds on favorite to win the 2008 Belmont Stakes just drew rail, the very gate that produced the most Belmont Stakes winners since 1905. After seeing this colt win the Derby from the last post and again winning the Preakness from the middle, drawing the No.1 post is a HUGE advantage for the Triple Crown contender, as if he needs one.
Oddsmakers have proclaimed Big Brown as the early 2-5 favorite to win the Belmont Stakes and capture the 2008 Triple Crown series title. And now that he has drawn rail, expect Big Brown’s stock to grow a little bit more heading for…

Orlando got to a ‘’magical'’ start before Chauncey Billups hurt his magical hamstring.
That was the scene before the Magic defeated the Pistons, 111-86, in Game 3 to cut Detroit’s lead to 2-1 in the second round of the 2008 NBA playoffs. With Billups now injured, the Magic will be looking to tie this series in Game 4 still to be played in Orlando.
The Pistons were coming into Game 3 looking to take a commanding 3-0 lead and sweep the Magic in Orlando again. Unfortunately for Piston fans, Orlando Magic forward Rashard Lewis got all his spells from the three point arc working for him.
Jeez… That could very well be
an understatement too as Rashard Lewis scored a playoff-high 33 points to lead Orlando to their first win in round number two. Yep, watching this guy virtually kill the Pistons all by himself was unbearable to watch, for Piston fans like me anyway.
The Detroit Pistons stood there in awe as Lewis went 5-6 from three-point country, leaving Rasheed Wallace dumbfounded. (And talking a lot to the referees as well for that matter…)
The Magic jumped on the Detroit Pistons right from the get-go, leading 30-16 after the very first quarter. Although the Pistons kept it close before halftime and again in the third, the Magic…

Can Madden STILL curse somebody who has already walked away from the game?
Yes people, that’s probably what some sick nut is wondering after all them players fell to this somewhat stupid but deadly cursed video game the past few years. But since Favre, already retired from football, won’t be taking snaps in the coming 2008-09 NFL football season, can the dreaded Madden curse still get him one way or the other anyway?
If you’re still hoping that Brett Favre decides to come out of retirement, you’d probably be happy to know that Favre is not totally ruling a comeback out. He says although a return is highly unlikely, he is not ruling out the possibility of him making a return to the field.
Like say, if the Green Bay Packers needed him after Aaron Rodgers, the team’s new starting QB, goes down with an injury, we might see No.4 back on the field sooner than we think. Then, and only then, can we (if you’re a Favre fan like most of us…) can start worrying about the reality that he just agreed to be the face of a cursed video game franchise.
As far as those boys behind the Madden NFL 09 video game is concerned, choosing Brett Favre as their next cover boy was easy. He is one of the best quarterbacks to ever play football and with them choosing a retired player to appear on their cover, they won’t risk receiving a butt-load of hate mail from Packer fans once the dreaded Madden curse strikes down on…

Yes, the Falcons drafted a quarterback.
Coming into the brand new 2008-09 NFL football season, the Atlanta Falcons are hoping that the guy they drafted will finally save their franchise from the shithole they have fallen into after Michael Vick decided to bet on pitbulls.
You read it people, the Atlanta Falcons just drafted a guy that can potentially save this franchise and put them back on the map. As NFL commissioner Roger Goodell walked to the podium, he leaned towards the mic and said these very words Michael Vick probably didn’t want to hear.
‘’With the third pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons select [dramatic pause] Matt Ryan, quarterback.'’
Yes folks, the Atlanta Falcons, after the rather miserable and pathetic performance they got at the position last season, drafted the former Boston College Eagles quarterback in hopes of finally having a solid man at the position that could finally give this team more wins for a change.
After the Atlanta Falcons drafted Matt Ryan, it is safe to say that the career of Michael Vick as a member of the Atlanta Falcons is… OVER. There will be no comeback for Vick with the ATL, perhaps there will be no comeback at all.
And if Michael Vick was watching the 2008 NFL Draft from prison…

Yes, this godforsaken horse racing event is still on in this first Saturday of May. Imagine that.
And just in case you’re most of us, that is ‘’I could give a rat’s ass about horse racing,'’ the godforsaken horse racing event we’re talking about here is the 134th Run for the Roses. Otherwise known as the 2008 Kentucky Derby.
You read it people, the gates are already set and the horses already have their respective positions for Saturday’s 134th Kentucky Derby to kick off the 2008 Triple Crown series. Starting off at gates one to five are Cool Coal Man, which has 20-1 odds t win it all, Tale of Ekati - 15-1, Anak Nakal - 30-1 and both 20 - 1 long shots, Court Vision and Eight Belles.
Kentucky Derby rookie Gabriel Saez
has the call on Eight Belles, who brings a four-race winning streak into the Run for the Roses. ‘’We’re going to give it a whirl,'’ said Eight Belles trainer Larry Jones, who finished second in last year’s Derby with Hard Spun.
‘’If she runs her race against the colts and doesn’t get intimidated we feel like she can be right there.'’
While on gates six to ten, 3-year-old colt Z Fortune by trainer Steve Asmussen has 15-1 odds to win, Big Truck follows at the seventh spot, while Visionaire takes the eight. Pyro, who won the Louisiana Derby before…

Although that probably don’t mean shit to most of us, it does to the Golden Boy.
You see, for the first time since 2001, the ‘’Golden Boy'’ Oscar De La Hoya comes home to HBO when he goes up against former champion Steve Forbes this Saturday for HBO’s flagship boxing series.
The De La Hoya - Forbes bout will headline the inaugural boxing event at The Home Depot Center’s 27,000-seat soccer stadium. Oscar De la Hoya will be making his 31st appearance on HBO and is hoping that the fans who supported him as an amateur in East Los Angeles will be supporting him again this Saturday.
De La Hoya, the former six-division
world champion, will also have Floyd Mayweather Sr. back in his corner for this bout. The two separated ways when De La Hoya went up against his trainer’s son, Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a high-grossing fight, May of 2007. De La Hoya is hoping to earn the same this Saturday considering that he sure has a lot going on for him coming into this bout.
On the other hand, Steve Forbes is coming off a split-decision victory over Francisco Bojado last October. Although his last fight is not the same high-grossing event like that of De La Hoya’s last…

Three teams will try to finish their respective first round face-offs this Friday, hopefully, the second round can finally go underway.
You read it people, we have three teams on Friday trying to close out their respective first round, best-of-seven series in the 2008 NBA playoffs. That being the Celtics, the Jazz and the Cavaliers. And just because there’s no way in hell the Hawks from the ATL can outplay the Boston Celtics at home for the third straight time while facing elimination, let’s start from there.
The Boston Celtics and the Atlanta Hawks are having a best-of-seven war wherein both teams have held serve. The Celtics won the first two games in Boston while the Hawks won the next two in Atlanta. When this series shifted back to Boston for Game 5 last Wednesday, the Celtics won that convincingly, 110-85, to take a commanding 3-2 lead.
Game 6 is in Atlanta and although the series’ pattern points to another win for the home team, I reckon home cooking won’t be the case this time because I’m sure the Celtics can’t afford to lose this one and give the young Atlanta Hawks even more confidence heading to a pivotal seventh game. Besides, winning by 25 points the last time is an indication that the Celtics really really want to get rid of these Hawks soon.
The Utah Jazz and the Houston Rockets resume their best-of-seven war and just because the Rockets won Game 5 convincingly three days ago, winning…
