THREE Betting Picks for the 2007 Breeders’ Cup Classic

By: J.J. Jack

This Friday, the 2007 Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred Championships begin.

Either that or we’ll just be so glad that this whole thing will finally start for us to see the end of it just so we can move on with our lives and watch more football. For now, the infamous Breeders’ Cup betting money train will be moving and whether you like it or not, it’ll take some space of the sporting world this weekend.

And as this whole thing gets going, the contenders for the highly anticipated (is it really anticipated?..) 2007 Breeders’ Cup Classic gets ready to win the latest horse racing event to give their heir a ridiculously high price tag for the next three generations.

2007 Breeders Cup ClassicOf course, to give Breeders’ Cup wagering fans another reason why they should keep on gambling too. And just for the record, I’m not saying that in a bad way because after all, THIS IS a ‘’gambling guide.'’

With that said, three horses stand out in the 2007 Breeders’ Cup main event. That’s Street Sense, Curlin and Hard Spun. Yes, these three thoroughbreds were the stars of the concluded Triple Crown series too. Can one of these horses win the Breeders’ Cup Classic? Read on.

The 2007 Kentucky Derby champion, Street Sense, is…

Oprah WILL RACE with horses at the 2007 Breeders’ Cup

By: Seth Edward O'Neal

seth-edward-oneal.jpgAnd mind you, I’m not even kidding.

Yes, Oprah would be one of the contenders racing for Breeders’ Cup betting money beginning this Friday and as interesting as it would be if we’re talking about the same Oprah who has been wasting a whole lot of TV time through the years, unfortunately, we’re not.

Oprah Winney, (and I have a hunch that they got the horse’s name from Oprah Winfrey…) will be one of the horses competing at the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint. I don’t know why her owners gave her that name but I’m just guessing it’s probably from watching too much of the Oprah Winfrey show.

Oprah WinneyAnd as expected, Oprah Winney WAS honored at the Oprah Winfrey show last October 23 when they featured segments of the horse’s racing career. What’s that career you ask?

Well for one, Oprah Winney has 14 races under her belt. She just won the Barbara Fritchie Breeders’ Cup H earlier this year coming to the inaugural $1 million Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint on Friday.

And just like Oprah Winfrey, Oprah Winney will be giving…

Horse wants Cigar than race in the 2007 Breeders’ Cup

By: Seth Edward O'Neal

seth-edward-oneal.jpgProbably because the horse is just tired of getting his ass whipped by some yahoo who has no idea what a ‘fashion statement’ means.

As the 2007 Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred Championships draw near, (yes, giving some of us reasons why we should put our life savings on the coming Breeders’ Cup betting money train, another horse has declined the invite.

Daaher, winner of the Grade 2 Jerome Handicap, decided to skip the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile and instead head to Aqueduct on November 24, for the Grade 1 Cigar Mile.

Breeders' Cup Dirt MileAnd no, the horse didn’t decide for himself, his people have. And although that has nothing to do whatsoever with this article, please pardon me because I’m just killing a couple of minutes of your life. Hee hee…

Trainer Kiaran McLaughlin felt that the 19 days between the Jerome Handicap his horse won and the coming Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile, an undercard if you will for the 2007 Breeders’ Cup Classic, is not enough time to let his horse get ready and give a…

Can the South Florida Bulls continue their climb on top this 2007 NCAA College Football Season?

By: Syndicate

Yes, the Bulls are running in college football. Imagine that.

On Thursday, the South Florida Bulls, surprisingly ranked now as the No.2 team of the nation, will be taking on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights to kick off Week 8 of the 2007 NCAA college football season.

Yes, you read it, the South Florida Bulls are now sitting pretty at the No.2 spot with an undefeated 6-0 record. Against Rutgers, these guys will probably just continue their ascend on top of the NCAA football food chain and continue shocking the rest of us too.

Last Saturday, the Bulls simply ran over their South Florida Bullsstate rivals, UCF Knights, 64-12 to remain undefeated. The Bulls were so impressive that people are already starting to contemplate on the fact that these guys might just be good enough to stay in the hunt for a BCS title in January.

Of course, none of you probably figured you’ll read something like this where South Florida and the BCS title were put in one sentence together.

‘’I like to win more than I do lose, that I know. And I like the position we’re in right now, but I’m not thinking about all that other stuff. I’m really not,'’ South Florida Bulls head coach Jim Leavitt said, referring to…

2007 Breeders’ Cup Classic to decide Horse of the Year and the three-year-old king of the horses?

By: Syndicate

Yeah. Sure. Whatever.

Yep, on October 27, the best horses of the country will be competing for horse racing’s latest extravaganza, (if you can still call it that…) and by that I mean, the 2007 Breeders’ Cup Classic. Oh by the way, in case you didn’t notice, I just can’t wait for this horseshit to be over and done with.

Heading to this year’s intense Breeders’ Cup betting extravaganza, people are starting to brand the goddamn Classic as something that will probably crown both the ‘Horse of the Year’ and the proverbial king of the three-year-olds.

2007 Breeders' Cup ClassicOf course, for the rest of us who would just love to sit our asses in front of the TV and watch football, we really don’t care.

The $5 million Breeders’ Cup main event will feature horses like Curlin, Hard Spun, Any Given Saturday and Tiago, all four scored wins over older rivals in these major prep races for the Classic.

Other three-year-olds that’ll be behind the gates on October 27 are horses like Street Sense and Lawyer Ron. They didn’t win their…

2007 Breeders’ Cup could be dirtier than Barry Bonds, Bill Belichick, and that betting NBA Referee

By: Syndicate

Well, without the horseshit coming from them horses of course. That would be too obvious to write about.

As the clock ticks for yet another Breeders’ Cup betting war, we are somewhat in the middle of all these controversies surrounding the world of sports lately.

Confused? Let me remind you. New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick used a spying cameraman to read the New York Jets’ defensive hand signals to start the NFL season after Barry Bonds became the all-time home run leader with performance enhancing drugs.

Oh yeah, it didn’t end there. A few months earlier, NBA referee Tim Donaghy was found guilty of betting on the NBA games he worked, therefore giving him the privilege to let a team cover any spread depending on where his money was riding with. Sounds like the perfect handicapper eh?

And don’t get me started with the Tour de France and all its doping scandals.

As the 2007 Breeders’ Cup Classic draws near, we’re may be looking at a sporting event even dirtier than Barry Bonds, Belichick and all them cheating sonsabitches combined. Why? How? Read on.

Trainers of the three biggest stables in horse racing, that’s Todd Pletcher, Steve Asmussen and…

The Favorites to win the 2007 Breeders’ Cup Classic

By: Seth Edward O'Neal

seth-edward-oneal.jpgAs of press time, we’re still a month away from the Breeders’ Cup.

On October 26-27, the 2007 Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred Championships will commence and without any real stuff worth writing about heading for October’s biggest horse racing affair, let’s just have the favorites to win the damn thing here shall we?

First, Street Sense is one of them favorites to win the Breeders’ Cup Classic. Street has now run two monster races going Polytrack-to-dirt in last fall’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile and the concluded Kentucky Derby.

Hard SpunStreet Sense has already secured Grade I breeding credentials, matching up with the elite of the division. Street’s ‘’Breeders’ Cup appetizer,'’ if you will, is the fact that the colt can run over a forgiving and stamina-building Poltrack.

Curlin, on the other hand, is also in the thick of things heading to the 2007 Breeders’ Cup Classic. Of course, Curlin is best known for his performance at the Preakness Stakes but to think that the Preakness would be the last thing this horse can win would just not be smart.

Any Given Saturday is also one of those…

No Rags to Riches Story in 2007 Breeders’ Cup Classic

By: J.J. Jack

I guess Rags to Riches will stay in RAGS for the coming Breeders’ Cup.

As we count the days heading towards the 2007 Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred Championships (then again, who’s really counting anyway?..) Rags to Riches, the very horse I once picked to win the Belmont Stakes earlier this year, will not be participating in the latest horse race of the sporting calendar.

For all ya’ll who forgot already, Rags to Riches made history after winning the 2007 Belmont Stakes with her being a filly. Yep, people said then that fillies are not suppose to win big money races like the one she won at Belmont Park.

Rags to RichesAfter her injury a few days ago, I guess Rags to Riches will indeed not be winning anything.

Rags to Riches came out of the Gazelle Stakes limping after finishing second fastest. She had a hairline fracture on her right front pastern and will not be racing again this year. Her people (yes, like what I keep on telling you in the past, horses have an entourage in horse racing…) claim she will be ready to race again as a four-year-old but who will be stupid enough to bet on a horse who races as if she has polio?

For what it’s worth, her trainer, the ever popular…

Discreet Cat, preparing for 2007 Breeders’ Cup discreetly

By: Seth Edward O'Neal

seth-edward-oneal.jpgYes, the 2007 Breeders’ Cup is merely a few more weeks away.

And I guess if you just don’t give a damn about the coming 2007 Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred Championships, (like yours truly…) then October 26 and 27 will mean nothing more to you but Week 8 of the 2007-08 NFL football season.

For the rest of you who’ll just bet on anything for the sake of making a wager, then I guess the 2007 Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred Championships is just one of them sporting events you’ll certainly be preparing for.

One horse preparing for the coming Breeders’ Cup is Discreet Cat.

The four-year-old colt is reported to be back to form after recovering from a throat abscess that virtually cost him the Dubai World Cup at Nad Al Sheba. (Hell, if throat injuries won’t get you, surely, the Moslem terrorists there will…)

Discreet Cat’s loss in the Dubai World Cup is the colt’s first loss in seven starts. Now, it seems the colt and its people (yes, horses have an entourage in horse racing…) are ready to put the Dubai World Cup behind them and get ready for the coming…

These horses will miss the 2007 Breeder’s Cup to watch the new NFL football season at home

By: Syndicate

He he… Maybe… You’ll never really know right?

One thing’s for sure though, because there’s really nothing much to talk about horse racing these days other than the coming Breeder’s Cup on October 26-27, and just because we simply don’t care much about it with the 2007-08 NFL football season here, we won’t be telling you which horses will be in the race.

What we’ll do is tell you which horses will MISS the 2007 Breeder’s Cup. And just because we simply love horse racing, we’ll try to make fun of the latest horse racing event on the sports calendar as much as we can too.

For all ya’ll who didn’t know, the 2007 Breeder’s Cup World Thoroughbred Championships will be2007 Breeder's Cup Classic at Monmouth Park in Oceanport, New Jersey to hold a new two-day event for the very first time. Yes, unfortunately, these guys even extended this complete waste of the sports calendar.

Of course, as always, the two-day event will be concluded by the 2007 Breeder’s Cup Classic with a $5 million purse at stake. It will feature the top three-year-old thoroughbreds from all over the world. Fortunately for these horse, they have opted to miss the Cup and just sit on their ass and relax while watching rebroadcast games of the NFL season on the…
