Man-U fans rejoice! You can now be officially excited about the coming football season.
As the brand new 2008-09 English Premier League season kicks off, Cristiano Ronaldo, only the biggest star in international football today, has finally decided on something and that’s to stay at Old Trafford for at least one more year.
You read it, Cristiano Ronaldo, after all the speculations that he will leave Manchester United and play for Real Madrid, has confirmed that he will remain with Man-U for another season.
‘’I will remain
with Manchester United for at least another year,'’ Cristiano Ronaldo said, much to the dismay of the Spanish football giants. Real Madrid was determined to pry another Man-U star away from English football after successfully signing former Man-U standout David Beckham.
THIS TIME though, looks Real Madrid has failed to grab the hottest commodity in international football today. However, I’m not expecting the Spanish football champions to give up on the guy that…

Revenge is just sweet.
After the New England Revolution fell to the Houston Dynamo the last time they met each other in a championship game, New England got revenge after beating Houston in the 2008 SuperLiga championship last Tuesday.
The New England Revolution finally found a way to beat the Houston Dynamo in a championship match but it wasn’t easy. New England defeated Houston 3-2 to win the SuperLiga title in a tightly contested face-off.
The two teams were tied 1-1 at the end of regulation and 2-2 at the end of two 15-minute overtime periods. After New England defender Chris Albright scored against Houston Dynamo goalkeeper Pat Onstad to give the Revolution a 6-5 lead in penalty kicks, New England was ready to celebrate.
When New England goalkeeper Matt Reis tipped a shot by Corey Ashe off the crossbar, pandemonium erupted.
The match was a little bit of revenge for New England. They have lost the last two MLS titles to the Dynamo.
New England made it to the final of the SuperLiga with a 3-0-1 record and did not allow a goal at home until Houston scored in the first half. The Dynamo scored nine goals in their first four SuperLiga matches but…

Looks like Chelsea will have a rather rough start to the season eh?
Chelsea star Didier Drogba is expected to miss the start of the 2008 English Premier League season. He is still recovering from a knee injury and is not expected back until the end of the month.
‘’Didier will not play in our first game against Portsmouth and will probably miss the second against Wigan. If there are no more problems he should be ready for the game after that,'’ Chelsea FC manager Luiz Felipe Scolari said.
They say it is possible that Didier Drogba returns for the game on August 31st against Tottenham but, according to the team, that is not a guarantee.
‘’I have been getting a progress report from the doctor every day. He’s getting better and is working with a fitness coach back at the training ground. I hope he will be ready to start training next week. But he will not play until he is in good condition,'’ Scolari adds.
Despite that, Drogba could be signing a new contract soon that would keep him at Chelsea until 2012. ‘’I am confident talks with Chelsea will lead to a positive resolve about my future,'’ Drogba said.
A few teams have inquired about the availability of Drogba but he wants to…

To me, that’s a very dumb move on their part.
For two straight seasons, we all saw Man-U literally snatch the Premiership away from Chelsea FC. And now that it seems the defending English football champions are on the verge of losing their biggest star, Cristiano Ronaldo, Chelsea has the opportunity of making it easier for them to win the title again by pursuing Kaka for the coming 2008-09 English Premier League season.
Instead, Chelsea FC decided not to pursue the 2007 FIFA World Player of the Year but instead, re-signs longtime goalkeeper Petr Cech to a new five-year contract. That will keep him with the Blues until 2013. That probably means we won’t see Chelsea winning the Premiership until 2013 too.
‘’I am very happy to have renewed my contract with them,'’ Petr Cech said. ‘’Chelsea has grown in my heart, not just because of my teammates and all the people that work for the club, but also because of their fantastic fans.'’
Cech is thought of as one of the world’s top goalkeepers. He has led Chelsea to two straight Premier League titles in previous seasons and last year led them to a runner-up finish in the soccer betting Premier League, Champions…

That is of course, according to Man-U manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Stunned about the possibility that he just might lose his biggest star coming to the brand new 2008-09 English Premier League season, Sir Alex Ferguson says it would be a big mistake in Cristiano Ronaldo’s part if he decides to leave Old Trafford and play for Real Madrid.
In case you’ve been living under a rock lately, Spanish football giants Real Madrid has been lobbying for Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo to come and join them in the coming Spanish football season.
And while Cristiano Ronaldo himself has already declared that he indeed wants to play for Real Madrid, Man-U, as of press time, still claims the Portugese phenom is NOT FOR SALE.
Sir Alex Ferguson is obviously disappointed with these developments. And while he continues to keep the Portugese phenom in the Man-U roster ‘’by any means necessary,'’ he goes on and tells the public that the 23-year-old winger needs to stay at Old Trafford if he is to grow as a player.
As if the guy has a choice…

Have you ever wondered how much did AC Milan pay to get probably the greatest active Brazilian footballer in the sport?
AC Milan is clearly gunning to win the 2008-09 Italian Serie A after signing Ronaldinho from Barcelona and prying him away from Manchester City and the entire English football world.
But just how much did AC Milan pay Barcelona to get the player who was once Barcelona’s best? A whopping US$33 million. Not too shabby huh? And guess what, the Italian football giants were willing to pay much more than that if Barcelona did not made them wait THIS long.
You see, Ronaldinho has
always been the footballer AC Milan big boss Silvio Berlusconi wanted most. Well, that is according to AC Milan scout Ernesto Bronzetti. If Barcelona decided to sell the Brazilian star two years ago, the Spanish football giants would have received more than double of what Milan paid.
According to Bronzetti, AC Millan offered Barcelona US$95 million for Ronaldinho two years ago but because the Brazilian footballer then was not slowed down by a number of injuries yet, Barcelona refused.
‘’Two years ago he offered Barca 60million (US$95 million) for Ronaldinho and they refused it,'’ Ernesto Bronzetti said.
‘’It was my most difficult deal. He is the fifth player to have won…'’

It never ends.
It seems Chelsea too wants to improve their roster prior to the start of the football season and with the brand new 2008-09 English Premier League upon us, they already have their eyes set on one player. Kaka.
You read it, disappointed of failing to win the Premiership again after two seasons, rumors say that Chelsea FC wants Kaka to join them at Stamford Bridge to drastically improve their chances of winning the title snatched away from them by Man-U.
AC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani has confirmed that Chelsea FC do have an offer for the 2007 FIFA World Player of the Year Kaka, an offer they have already rejected. Hee hee…
However, despite the fact that AC Milan has already rejected what was dubbed as a massive offer from the English football giants, Kaka’s representatives said the player would be interested in a move to West London and play for Chelsea. Hmm…
Still, AC Milan dispels the rumors.
‘’It’s true that Chelsea made a conspicuous offer, but I will not say how much it was,'’ Adriano Galliani said. ‘’It is equally true that we said no. President Silvio Berlusconi rejected the chance to sell Kaka, just as he told Real Madrid no in 2001 for Andriy Shevchenko.'’
‘’Kaka is going nowhere and neither is Clarence Seedorf. (The guy Juventus wants…) The fans can…'’

You read it, the ‘’Cristiano Ronaldo Saga'’ continues.
While the brand new 2008-09 English Premier League season inches closer and closer each day, Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo remains to be the focus of the football world.
Why? Two reasons. One, there’s thing thing about Cristiano Ronaldo missing the first month of the coming English football season as he continues to recover from his severe ankle injury. Two, there’s also this thing about him moving from Old Trafford to join Real Madrid in the Spanish league.
Real Madrid is the defending Spanish
champion and if they do manage to land the Portugese footballer for the coming 2008-09 Spanish Primera Liga, another title for the Spanish football giants is very VERY likely.
If Ronaldo leaves Old Trafford, it would be hard for the Manchester United Red Devils to continue the success they had on the pitch the last couple of years. And yeah, the entire world of English football will never be the same again.
For now, Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon says it’s up to Ronaldo if he wants to join their team or stay with Man-U. He also said that if Ronaldo wants to leave Old Trafford, it would be hard for…

Of course, coming to a new team, you should have absolutely nothing but excitement for your new environment right?
And when you are one of the biggest transfers of the offseason, I don’t see why you should be any different. Ronaldinho is in the middle of what could be a series of HUGE transfers in international football this offseason and the former Barcelona star has nothing but praises for his new football club.
Ronaldinho is excited to play alongside another Brazilian, Kaka, trying to lead AC Milan atop the coming 2008-09 Italian Serie A season.
He was finally unveiled by AC Milan to
its fans and Ronaldinho wasted no time in expressing how happy he was of having the opportunity to have a fresh start with the Italian football giants.
‘’This is a special emotion for me, a unique moment in my career,'’ Ronaldinho said. ‘’Every player would like to play with Milan.'’
Hmm… ‘’Every player would like to play with Milan'’ huh? Didn’t he blurted out the same exact words when he was transferred to Barcelona a few years…

Ugh… Just when you thought Manchester City will finally have their own super footballer, the Italian giants pulled off a fast one.
You read it people, Ronaldinho won’t be playing for Manchester City in the coming 2008-09 English Premier League season but instead, will play in the San Siro to join AC Milan in the Italian Serie A.
After spending his last years in the Spanish league dealing with numerous injuries, the (now) former Barcelona superstar, Ronaldinho, is hoping he’ll have a fresh start in the Italian league as he tries to help AC Milan bring the title home to the San Siro.
Ronaldinho, together with another
Brazilian footballer, the 2007 FIFA World Player of the Year Kaka, will form some kind of combination in AC Milan. Their success, of course, remains to be seen.
For now, the Italian football giants can’t wait to introduce their newly acquired star. Thursday will be the day when they formally introduce the Brazilian football icon to the excited AC Milan fans.
