This way, at least Manchester city will have a new star if Cristiano Ronaldo moves to Real Madrid right?
It seems the 2008-09 English Premier League season just keeps getting interesting by the minute eh? And for some reason, all the big news have come from the city of Manchester so far.
Why? For one, the city has TWO big football clubs. They have the defending English football champions, the Manchester United Red Devils, and that other one simply dubbed as Manchester City.
However, after these developments
that could land them one of the best Brazilian footballers to ever play the game in Ronaldinho, the team simply tagged as Manchester City could change faster than Paris Hilton can take off her panties.
You read it, new owner and former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra wants the 28-year-old Ronaldinho. This is after Ronaldinho’s Spanish football club, Barcelona, have made it public that the Brazilian phenom is no longer included in their plans for the future.
You see, Ronaldinho has been slowed down by…

Yes, I can’t understand why two big football clubs are going ga-ga for a guy who’ll miss a month of the football season.
And it doesn’t even matter if he’ll be playing in the Spanish league or if he’ll stay with Man-U to play the 2008-09 English Premier League season, the fact of the matter is, Cristiano Ronaldo is out for at least a month. Would you gamble on a guy who is yet to prove he can come back to the pitch back in his usual form?
Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo (yes, as of press time, he’s still a member of the reigning English football champions…) will miss about a month of the coming football season after undergoing surgery on his rather troublesome right ankle.
According to the Manchester United Red Devils, Ronaldo’s operation in Holland was a success but it will take Professor Niek van Dijk about a month before he can decide whether the Portugese footballer can go back doing what he does best.
No, that’s not tease us with a possible move to Real Madrid or make his female fans drool every single time he takes off his shirt, what he does best if play football and that’s exactly why the Spanish football giants have been clamoring for him to play for them and defend their Spanish football title in the coming 2008-09 Spanish Primera Liga.
The following is a statement released by his current team from Old…

Although he did not directly say it, you just have this feeling that probably the biggest star in football wants a change, starting with his team.
Before the 2008-09 English Premier League season begins, we already heard the news that could very well have a huge impact on English football. Real Madrid from the Spanish Primera Liga wants Cristiano Ronaldo out of England.
If Real pulls this off, Cristiano Ronaldo will be the second English football star they pried out of England, the first one being David Beckham, also from Manchester United. And while the club still refuses to sell their Portugese superstar, FIFA president Sepp Blatter himself hinted that Man-U should just let Ronaldo go if the player really wants to leave.
And guess what, Ronaldo agrees with him. FIFA president Sepp Blatter sort of described Man-U’s refusal to let Ronaldo go where he wants to be, a case of ‘’modern slavery'’ and although he did not directly pointed the finger on the reigning English football champions, you just know Old Trafford got the point.
Sure, Cristiano Ronaldo is not as well-known as a David Beckham yet but the guy still has his entire football career in front of him and being one of the biggest football stars in England already at such a young age, a transfer to…

Of course, if you believe that, then you’re a jackass.
With the brand new 2008-09 Spanish Primera Liga still a few more months away, Real Madrid looked very eager to land the biggest acquisition to hit the team since they signed David Beckham away from Manchester United.
Real Madrid have their eyes on another player from Manchester United and this time, it’s Portugese phenom Cristiano Ronaldo. But wait, now Real Madrid is saying Ronaldo will opt to stay with Man-U. Hmm… Have they given up on it this easily already?
‘’At the moment, that’s (Ronaldo staying) the most likely scenario. They (United) don’t want to sell so we can’t do anything,'’ Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon said.
‘’He must love Manchester. Once Manchester decide they want to sell and they tell us this, then we will say that we’re talking about a transfer. But today that’s not happening and therefore this is a situation that may end up as it is now, as nothing, and Cristiano Ronaldo will continue at Manchester next year.'’
For all you Man-U fans, there’s no reason to…

While English fans are excited about the coming season, one Red Devil is not.
After a successful right ankle operation, Cristiano Ronaldo is now being rumored to miss at least a month of the coming 2008-09 English Premier League season. This is huge considering Ronaldo’s team, Manchester United, will come in as defending English champions again.
Heck, with all these rumors about the possibility of Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the Premiership to play for Real Madrid in the Spanish Primera, Ronaldo missing at least a month of the Premiership should be the least of Man-U’s worries.
As of press time, Manchester United
have fended off yet another verbal claim from Real Madrid for Ronaldo’s services. He is the biggest thing going for Old Trafford since David Beckham was swooned away, also by Real Madrid. For now, Man-U is glad their star’s operation was a successful one.
Manchester United released a statement after the successful operation.
‘’Cristiano Ronaldo underwent surgery today to his right ankle and the initial indications are that the procedure was…'’

This is probably the first significant news ever to hit the tournament since it was announced that it will be played in South Africa.
With still two more years before the 2010 FIFA World Cup gets here, we are already hearing some rumblings, if you will, about the biggest football tournament in the world.
Hell, the Euro 2008 championships have just concluded and football fans already have their eyes on the next big thing, if not the biggest. And as far as this story goes, it’s all about these doubts pertaining to how safe will the tournament’s participants be in South Africa.
You see, there seems to be rising
concerns over continued security problems in the very area where the 2010 FIFA World Cup will be played. The World Cup is still the sport’s most prestigious and biggest tournament and with these security problems, it has put the possibility of South Africa hosting it in doubt.
Fortunately for FIFA, their president has another ace up his sleeve.
FIFA president Sepp Blatter, for the first time, has confirmed that there is a ‘’Plan B'’ for the host nation of the…

I guess you can say that we saw the end of SPAIN’S PAIN.
Catchy ain’t it? Yes people, the 2008 UEFA European Football Championships have just ended with Spain winning it all to end 44 years of underachievement. They beat Germany 1-0, in Vienna last Sunday despite of Spain’s, as well as the tournament’s leading scorer, David Villa, playing with an injury.
In the end, Villa hurting was not a factor as it was Fernando Torres who was able to lead Spain to the title after scoring the game-winning goal in the 33rd minute. The German side, more specifically Michael Ballack, did everything that they could to even things up. Unfortunately for them, Spain simply held on.
Spain was coming into
the Euro 2008 final as international heavyweights of football but can’t seem to win any major tournament whatsoever since 1964. Yes, Spaniards were regarded as big chokers when it comes to them playing on that pitch.
After beating Germany, they are no longer regarded as chokers but Euro 2008 champions. How about that eh?
Spain is a nation divided by their regions. Hell, lyrics of their national anthem was not even used for crying out loud. The Spanish side needed to win this tournament and after Fernando Torres did just that for them, Spain was…

The biggest football tournament of the year is about to conclude.
You read it people, the final two teams that will meet in the championship match of the 2008 UEFA European Football Championships were finally determined after Spain defeated Russia in stunning fashion, 3-0, to earn the spot against Germany for the final.
This will be the first final in 24 years for Spain after winning their semi-final fixture against the Russian side in Vienna, Austria. Spain, after entering halftime scoreless in what has been an uneventful first half face-off, was fortunate to come up with three second half goals that put them ahead for good.
Xavi, substitute Daniel Guiza and
David Silva each scored goals for the Spanish side to lead their team through the Euro 2008 final. It was their fifth win in as many games.
The Russians were going for their first appearance in the Euro final against Germany this Sunday since the break-up of the Soviet Union. They never thought that the very team that gave them a humbling 4-1 loss to start their Euro 2008 campaign will be the one that will ultimately end their European campaign.
Ironic isn’t it?
The question now is, can the Spanish side beat Germany now that striker David Villa is out with an injury? You read it, although earning a…

He he… Yes people, the ugliest face in football could be playing for the English Premiership in England soon.
While the intriguing battles on the pitch rages on at the Euro 2008, Stamford Bridge is getting excited about the fact that probably the best player in football right now could be playing for them soon.
In case you didn’t get that, I’m referring to Barcelona’s Brazilian phenom, Ronaldinho, and while football fans are still probably engrossed with the ongoing 2008 UEFA European Football Championships, the guy has his thoughts on a possible move from the Spanish Primera to join Chelsea FC in the English Premier League.
You see, Ronaldinho
has always been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, home of Chelsea FC, and now that Luiz Felipe Scolari has taken over, it looks like landing Ronaldinho is his top priority.
So what does the soon-to-be a non-member of FC Barcelona, Ronaldinho, think about this possible move to the English Premiere League? ‘’Every player would love to play in such a competitive championship like the English league,'’ Ronaldinho said. ‘’I'm happy because almost all the teams want me to play for them.'’
‘’I'm very happy for him (Scolari). I admire him a lot and I hope he can make all his dreams come true. I wish him well,'’ Ronaldinho adds…

Cristiano Ronaldo is on the brink of becoming the world’s most expensive player if he decides to take on Real Madrid’s generous offer.
Now that Cristiano Ronaldo’s stint in the 2008 UEFA European Football Championship is over after Portugal lost to Germany, he is now looking into a possible move from Old Trafford and the defending Champions League champions Manchester United, to Real Madrid and the Spanish Premiere League.
After failing to lead Portugal deeper into the Euro 2008 tournament, it seems that didn’t hurt his market value so to speak. Real Madrid still wants to land the fiery Portugese striker and after he captured both the English Premiership and the UEFA Champions League titles with Manchester United, Real Madrid is STILL willing to make him the highest paid football player in the world.
Zinedine Zidane, still the highest paid footballer after moving from Juventus to Real Madrid, agrees with his former club. He believes that Cristiano Ronaldo is worthy to break his own record breaking fee and the Portugese’s 3-2 loss to Germany should not slow down his bandwagon.
‘’He has had a great season, a league and Champions League winner, and I think the fact that he and Portugal got knocked out at the quarter-finals doesn’t mean anything because they were up against a great Germany team,'’ retired Zinedine Zidane said.
‘’It doesn’t say anything about the merits during…'’
