In what will only add to the madness this 2007 NCAA college basketball season before the March brackets arrive, Lil’ Romeo will be shooting hoops on the NCAA college basketball hardwood and in case you’re not well informed to know who the heck Lil’ Romeo is, he’s an actor / rapper and son of the hip-hop legendary mogul Master P.

So where will Lil’ Romeo be playing hoops? Lil’ Romeo, whose real name is Percy Romeo Miller, signed national letters of intent to attend Southern California and play for the USC Trojans.

Lil’ Romeo is currently a senior guard at Beverly Hills High, averaging 13.9 points and 5.6 assists last season. And apparently, Lil’ Romeo got his love for both hoops and music from his father, Master P, who tried to get to the NBA in the 1990s, TWICE.

‘’This is the most important thing I’ve had to do and hopefully it sends a message to kids across the country that education is more important than money,'’ Lil’ Romeo said at a news conference.

‘’Getting a college scholarship is more important than winning an American Music Award, and I plan to be the best student-athlete I can be at USC.'’ The 6-0, 170-pound Lil’ Romeo was ranked by one recruiting service as one of the top 15 prep point guards in the country today.

The college basketball season will officially kick off Monday.

And while we pretend we’re excited that the 2007-08 NCAA college basketball season will be kicking off (because we know that the REAL season starts on March…) the North Carlina Tar Heels will welcome the year sitting on top of these confusing college sports rankings. That’s despite failing to win the title after successive attempts.

Yep, the North Carolina Tar Heels are the No.1 team of the nation as we speak, beating the likes of the UCLA Bruins and the Memphis Tigers.

The last time we saw the Tar Heels, they got their asses shocked and humiliated by the upstart team of the Georgetown Hoyas in the regional finals of their March Madness bracket. They lost a commanding 11-point lead then, missing 22 of 23 shots during a painful 15-minute stretch.

On July 15, ESPN will announce their own ‘’best athlete awards'’ on TV and whatever you do, please don’t vote for LeBron James.

Obviously, I don’t like the guy one bit. Sorry LeBron fans, if Dwyane Wade was nominated in the 2007 ESPY Awards, I’d pick on him but since the sick fuck is not nominated this year, I’d just screw with my second least favorite athlete of all time. Yep, it’s LeBron.

LeBron James is one of the nominees for the ‘’best male athlete'’ category in the 2007 ESPY Awards. He’ll join the likes of golf icon Tiger Woods, tennis great Roger Federer, last season’s NFL MVP LaDainian Tomlinson and Super Bowl XLI champion Peyton Manning.

My vote? It’s gotta’ be Peyton Manning. Heck, he had a whopping 4,397 passing yards in the concluded 2006-07 NFL football season. He had 31 touchdowns with only nine interceptions. And to top it off, he led the Indianapolis Colts to the Super Bowl XLI title and was named Super Bowl MVP.

For all ya’ll who don’t know who Don Imus is, the guy is apparently one of the nation’s most prominent broadcasters, (or so they say…) and now, he got his prominent ass fired by CBS.

He he… Yep, CBS radio broadcaster Don Imus was fired after making racist remarks to the Rutgers women’s basketball team. Don Imus called the Rutgers ladies ‘’nappy-headed hos'’ and as funny as Imus’ remarks was, CBS still fired the guy.

Outrage kept growing and advertisers kept bolting out from his CBS radio show and its MSNBC simulcast, probably because of that nappy-headed ho thing. Oh yeah, Don Imus’ show was ultimately canceled Wednesday.

‘’There has been much discussion of the effect language like this has on our young people, particularly young women of color trying to make their way in this society,'’ CBS President and Chief Executive Officer Leslie Moonves said in announcing the decision. ‘’That consideration has weighed most heavily on our minds as we made our decision.'’

Yep, the entire field of 65 in the 2007 March Madness bracket tournament was chopped down and reduced to the Sweet 16, the Elite Eight, the Final Four and finally, to the TWO TEAMS that will compete for the biggest prize in all of college hoops.

And yep, the legendary Dick Vitale will definitely go ga-ga over this one on Monday as the Florida Gators and the Ohio State Buckeyes play for the 2007 NCAA College Basketball national championship in a rematch of the BCS title game.

As for me, I’m still grieving about the North Carolina Tar Heels not making it this year after a strong start in the regular season as well as in the 2007 March Madness tournament but hey, I guess there’s always next season.

Oh yeah, the final two teams that will play for the 2007 NCAA College Basketball national title will have a highly-contested game for sure. Of course, with the remaining two teams being highly-ranked, this game will definitely be the battle of the best.

The Florida Gators, the UCLA Bruins, the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Georgetown Hoyas are your 2007 NCAA Final Four. Yep, the defending NCAA College Basketball champion Gators are still around trying to defend their title.

Speaking of the Florida Gators, Joakim Noah and the rest of the crew will face the UCLA Bruins in a rematch of last year’s NCAA College Basketball national championship game. The Gators won big time then, easily dismantling the Bruins 73-57, en route to their first national title.

Yep, expect them Gators to do much of the same. He he… The UCLA Bruins can’t beat these guys and don’t expect Florida to slip with a win away from going back to the biggest stage in college hoops.

Yep, the Madness in March is officially gone.

Of course, with the North Carolina Tar Heels already gone and out of the 2007 March Madness bracket tournament, what is there left to watch? Well, if you’re still going ga-ga over this annual college hoops spectacle, here are a couple of reasons why you shouldn’t and just wait for the next NFL Football season in September.

The MADNESS is GONE. This is the first time since 1993 that we have NCAA Final Four teams whose seeds don’t go below No.2. Yep, with top seeded teams Florida Gators and Ohio State Buckeyes going up against No.2 seeded clubs like the UCLA Bruins and the Georgetown Hoyas, this batch of the Final Four could very well be a little more predictable than usual.

I hope I still had that one right. Yeah, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back and being a fan of the TMNT cartoon series myself while I was growing up, watching the same four turtles in the big screen brings back old memories indeed.

All four turtles are back; Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michaelangelo. And the movie begins after the defeat of their old arch nemesis, ‘’The Shredder.'’

Apparently, the four turtles have now grown apart after defeating Shredder and will have to come back together as they welcome a new threat to the world. (As if Oprah Winfrey wasn’t enough right?)

Yep, the top seeded North Carolina Tar Heels were unceremoniously booted out of the 2007 March Madness bracket tournament by the Georgetown Hoyas. UNC led this game by TEN POINTS with SIX MINUTES remaining. What happened?

In a stunning turn of events, the Georgetown Hoyas got even for a coach Thompson and a player named Ewing. And yep, they did it against North Carolina to advance to the 2007 NCAA Final Four.

The Georgetown Hoyas, down by 11 points in the second half, rallied to force overtime before scoring 14 straight in the extra period to shock ‘’Tarheelia,'’ 96-84. And just like the old days, the Hoyas attack was led by a coach Thompson and a Patrick Ewing.
