Chad Johnson still hates the Cincinnati Bengals

By: J.J. Jack

Nyuk nyuk nyuk… Mr. Johnson, it’s about time.

With still more than a few months before the brand new 2008-09 NFL football season begins, it seems Chad Johnson has no plans whatsoever of playing another game with the Bengals in this lifetime or the next.

For all ya’ll who didn’t know, the Cincinnati Bengals have already started preseason workouts and Chad Johnson was nowhere to be seen. It turned out that Johnson decided to miss his team’s first preseason workout to make it loud and clear that he’s unhappy with how he is perceived in Cincinnati.

Chad Johnson‘’I can’t force them to trade me. I’m just trying to let them know I’m not happy,'’ Chad Johnson told the media.

‘’We’re fooling ourselves not doing things we need to do to compete with the Indy’s, the Jacksonville’s, Dallas. How do you let Shaun Rogers get away? That helps your run defense. Our defense gives us a chance to win.'’

Apparently, Chad Johnson and Shaun Rogers realized they are soulmates destined to spend the rest of their lives together. That’s until Rogers was booted out of Cincinnati.

‘’I'm frustrated. I’m feeling like our fans felt 10 or 11 years before I got here and…'’

While the New York Giants won Super Bowl XLII, Cincinnati Bengals WR Chad Johnson demanded a trade

By: Syndicate

And mind you, the guy’s threatening to sit out the 2008-09 NFL season if he doesn’t get one.

THAT probably means we have seen the last of Chad Johnson in a Cincinnati Bengals uniform. Now, if only Bill Belichick knew this sooner, he could’ve just signed the guy to the Patriots too and maybe, we’ll have a different result at Super Bowl XLII eh?

With the Cincinnati Bengals finding a new primary option on offense, that being T.J. Houshmandzadeh, and probably because they just can’t win on any football field too, ‘’Ocho Cinco'’ Chad Johnson wants no part of the Cincinnati Bengals next season. Hell, I don’t blame him.

Chad JohnsonIn fairness to Chad Johnson, he started feeling this way after his coach, Marvin Lewis, just stopped talking to him early in the season. Johnson also claims he always gets the blame after every loss and it certainly looks like Ocho Cinco himself is sick and tired of it.

‘’I'm not allowed to say. I get the blame; the so-called best player, I’m the problem. Someone in-house is spreading this. Maybe they want me to quiet down [and] stop being me. That is not going to happen. I can’t function that way. I tried it. It…'’

2007-08 NFL Football Week 7 Betting Picks

By: J.J. Jack

It has been seven weeks of NFL football folks and we still have two teams yet to taste defeat on that football field.

Yep, the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts, two rivals from the AFC, are still undefeated and are still on that road to match the mark set by the 1972 Miami Dolphins, that being finishing a single season PERFECT. And as the 2007-08 NFL football season heads for Week 7, you can bet your ass we’ll be watching these two teams and wait who’ll blink first.

The New England Patriots, the heavy favorites to win it all this season, ironically have the now pathetic Miami Dolphins on Sunday as they try to keep their bid to match the mark set by these Dolphins’ 1972 counterparts alive.

This year’s version of the Miami Dolphins is ridiculously pathetic. Let me get that one out first. While the ‘72 Dolphins went for a season undefeated, these Dolphins are going through a season winless. Hee hee… They are currently hobbling at a humiliating 0-6 stand, letting them become only one of two teams yet to taste a win this year. The St. Louis Rams being the other one.

Expect the New England Patriots to bitch-slap the Miami Dolphins -13.5 at home.

On Sunday Night Football, the Pittsburgh Steelers visit INVESCO Field to play the Denver Broncos. After a disappointing season following their Super Bowl win, this year’s…

2007-08 NFL Football Week 5 Betting Picks

By: J.J. Jack

Week 5 baby and we still have a few teams looking to erase the shit the ‘72 Dolphins have in the NFL.

And in case you didn’t get that, the 1972 Miami Dolphins are still the only team in pro football who finished a full year UNDEFEATED. In this 2007-08 NFL football season, the Patriots, the Packers, the Cowboys and the Colts are the only four teams that still have a chance of matching that feat.

Of course, they gotta’ win in Week 5 first. And the last time NFL football was on, the Pittsburgh Steelers saw their ascend to the ‘72 Dolphins record come to a screeching halt when the Arizona Cardinals handed them their very first loss of the season.

Hmm… I wonder which among these four undefeated teams will be dealt their first loss of the year?

First, the New England Patriots. These guys will be hosting a lowly Cleveland Browns team in probably one of the toughest games to win a football game, Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.

The Browns are 2-2 this season. Sure, they were able to beat the powerhouse Baltimore Ravens last Sunday, but this time, they have the Patriots. And when you face a team who has two of the hottest guys in football right now, that being Tom Brady and Randy Moss, you don’t have a chance.

Expect the New England Patriots to…

Patriots, Bengals WILL PASS on Monday Night Football

By: J.J. Jack

He he… Of course, to expect otherwise will just be dumb.

In what should be a high-scoring game, the New England Patriots and the Cincinnati Bengals will be playing each other for the first time this 2007-08 NFL football season as two of the most high-flying passing games in the NFL collide on Monday Night Football. This should be a good one folks.

The New England Patriots are still at a perfect 3-0. Thanks of course to their new wide receiver, Randy Moss, who they signed away from the pathetic Oakland Raiders during the offseason.

Tom BradyMany thought that the arrival of Randy Moss will just destroy a team’s chemistry centered around the concept of teamwork. Tell that to him now after already dropping five touchdowns, 403 yards and a 134.4 receiving yards per game average after just three games with the Pats.

On the other side of the field, the Cincinnati Bengals have wide receiver Chad Johnson. Also known from his stunts last season as ‘’Ocho Cinco,'’ Chad Johnson still is one of the perennial receivers in…

2007-08 NFL Football Week 4 Betting Picks

By: J.J. Jack

The Patriots undefeated? CHECK. The Colts too? CHECK. Miami still suck? CHECK. Packers are perfect? Wha?!?

Yep, that’s apparently the theme after three weeks into the 2007-08 NFL football season. Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers are the talk of the town, topping the struggling Chargers, Belichick’s cameras and of course, Terrell Owens.

On Sunday, Week 4 of the NFL season will see the red-hot Green Bay Packers (because green is the new red…) visit Minnesota to take on the Vikings. This would be an NFC North rivalry game you shouldn’t miss, that is if you want to witness history on Sunday.

Yes, Brett Favre could very well be the all-time leader in touchdowns when they visit Minnesota. As of press time, the immortal Favre is tied with Dan Marino for most career touchdowns in the NFL.

That’s 420 TDs for all ya’ll too lazy to do your research. Another touchdown for Brett Favre against a very pathetic Vikings defense is inevitable. Oh yeah, in case you’re wondering, there’s no reason for you to bet against the Green Bay Packers. Take ‘em to win -6.5 over the Minnesota Vikings people.

On NFL Sunday Night Football, one of the biggest rivalries in the NFC will…

2007-08 NFL Football Week 2 Betting Picks

By: J.J. Jack

Yep, it’s Week 2 baby and we sure had a lot of things that went down already.

First, we found out that the Indianapolis Colts are still in championship form after dismantling the New Orleans Saints to kickoff the 2007-08 NFL football season. Then, we saw Denver’s dramatic win over Buffalo from a last second field goal overshadowed by the horrible spinal injury to Bills tight end Kevin Everett. And who can forget that spying cameraman the Patriots had monitoring the Jets?

Yep, all of that happened in Week 1. And as we prepare for Week 2 of the 2007-08 NFL football season, we can expect more of the same stuff. Hell, Terrell Owens hasn’t even started talking yet.

Our Week 2 betting picks thing begins with the most valuable team in the NFL, according to Forbes magazine anyway, Dallas Cowboys, taking on the Miami Dolphins at Dolphin Stadium.

Tony Romo sure looked like he’s ready to put that botched field goal try from last season’s playoffs behind him and become Dallas’ next great quarterback. Well, at least he looked the part against the New York Giants from Week 1. They have the Miami Dolphins next and although new Dolphins quarterback Trent Green should be reason enough to be hopeful in Florida, losing to a pathetic team like the…

NFL Monday Night Football returns with Double Header

By: J.J. Jack

The Baltimore Ravens meet the Cincinnati Bengals before the Arizona Cardinals play the San Francisco 49ers.

Yes, it will definitely be one busy Monday night as the 2007-08 NFL football season officially returns every Mondays with NFL Monday Night Football. And if you’re just sick and tired of John Madden and Al Michaels, the MNF booth should be able to provide us with something fresh.

MNF’s return on TV will feature a double-header presentation to kick off the season. First, at 7:00 pm, the Cincinnati Bengals play hosts to the visiting Baltimore Ravens in what should be a clash of two contrasting styles of football, the Bengals offense versus the Ravens defense.

Baltimore Ravens vs Cincinnati BengalsThen at 10:15 pm, two young quarterbacks will go head - to - head as Matt Leinart leads the Arizona Cardinals to California to face Alex Smith and the rest of the San Francisco 49ers.

This is the last live broadcast of NFL football for the week before we wait for Sunday’s crop of games again and for our sake, let’s hope for a good one. (Unless of course you’re wife drags your ass to the mall on Monday night…)

Let’s start with the Bengals - Ravens game shall we? The Cincinnati Bengals probably have the most explosive offense in…

2007-08 NFL Football Week 1 Betting Picks

By: J.J. Jack

Yes, we’ll be trying to do these things weekly here on OddJack.

Because we just love NFL football and are already sick and tired of hearing stuff about David Beckham and soccer, we’ll TRY to put in NFL football stuff as much as we can and just because the season officially kicks off Thursday, we’ll get things started a bit with these Week 1 betting picks.

The Indianapolis Colts host the New Orleans Saints to start the brand new 2007-08 NFL football season. It’s Peyton Manning, last season’s Super Bowl MVP, taking on the rocket arm of Drew Brees from New Orleans.

Chad JohnsonYeah, sure, the New Orleans Saints QB sure has one heckuva’n arm but it’s Peyton Manning for crying out loud. If he can’t beat you straight up, he’ll put you out of your game with those irritating audibles of his behind center. The Indianapolis Colts will win -13.5.

As for the rest of them games, the Philadelphia Eagles visit the historic Lambeau Field to take on the immortal Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers. This one is a match-up between two quarterbacks trying to resurrect their respective careers.

Donovan McNabb has been hampered with a…

Who would wanna’ watch the 2007 Belmont Stakes when Chad Johnson is racing a horse on same day June 9?

By: Syndicate

All I can say is… WHAT THE HELL?!?

Yep, that was the initial reaction when I first heard of the news. Apparently, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson will be racing against a horse named Restore the Road on turf at Cincinnati’s River Downs on June 9.

That’s the same day when the 2007 Belmont Stakes come out of the gates to culminate this year’s Triple Crown series. I guess ‘’Ocho Cinco'’ here wants to chime in with that day’s little ‘’horse racing'’ atmosphere eh? Hey, what can you do? Chad Johnson have always liked the attention.

Chad’s latest exploit is for the benefit of his favorite charity, ‘’Feed The Children.'’ The race, billed as ‘’Man vs. Beast,'’ will be the feature chad_johnson1.jpgrace at River Downs on June 9 when Belmont Park hosts the 2007 Belmont Stakes in New York City.

Ocho Cinco’s rival, Restore the Road, is a 4-year-old colt trained by Ivan Vasquez and owned by Patricia Genn. Restore the Horse will break from the inside at the eight hole while the NFL football wide receiver will break from the outside rail going 1/16th of a mile.

‘’I'm looking forward to it,'’ Cincinnati Bengals wideout Chad Johnson said Friday, after the first day of minicamp. ‘’It’s going to be fun. Some of the…'’
