You read it right, the Giants are in the Super Bowl. And what’s even more surprising is the fact that Eli led them to get here.
The New York Giants EARNED their Super Bowl XLII ticket after shocking the world for two straight weekends, beating NFC powerhouse No.1 Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round in one weekend and eliminating NFC powerhouse No.2 Green Bay Packers in the NFC championship game the following Sunday.
These New York Giants earned the spot to play the still perfect Patriots in the big dance, Super Bowl XLII in Glendale, Arizona. And while the Giants are probably feeling good about themselves to finally get here after a sub-par start to the season, the rest of us know that these guys will just get their asses creamed by New England.
STILL, there’s that possibility that the Giants may have what it takes to shock us for the third straight time and actually beat the New England Patriots. After beating Dallas, then Green Bay, hell, New England may be next.
The Giants defense has just been terrific. It made Tony Romo’s life a living hell in the divisional round and it was able to pressure Brett Favre in the NFC title game so good that the guy is contemplating about retirement again.
Yes, defense is the key coming to their…

Yep, the 2008 NFL playoffs continue and unfortunately for some, some people were already left for dead.
The Pittsburgh Steelers, along with the probably still emotional Washington Redskins ended their respective seasons Saturday when the Jaguars and the Seahawks took them down for good. (Well, at least until September again…)
What’s left is a battle between the New York Giants and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC and part 2 of what is being dubbed as the ‘’Smash-Mouth war'’ between the Tennessee Titans and the San Diego Chargers in the AFC.
People, this is the final part of a two-part NFL playoffs wild card saga before we make our way to the NFL divisional playoff games where guys like Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Brett fucking Favre awaits.
First, from the NFC, the New York Giants visit the Buccaneers in Tampa, hoping that this playoff run will finally make THIS young Manning worth your while.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Ronde Barber ain’t buying in to the hype yet. He claims Manning ‘’can be had,'’ probably because of the inconsistent play we’ve all seen from the…

It has been seven weeks of NFL football folks and we still have two teams yet to taste defeat on that football field.
Yep, the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts, two rivals from the AFC, are still undefeated and are still on that road to match the mark set by the 1972 Miami Dolphins, that being finishing a single season PERFECT. And as the 2007-08 NFL football season heads for Week 7, you can bet your ass we’ll be watching these two teams and wait who’ll blink first.
The New England Patriots, the heavy favorites to win it all this season, ironically have the now pathetic Miami Dolphins on Sunday as they try to keep their bid to match the mark set by these Dolphins’ 1972 counterparts alive.
This year’s version of the Miami Dolphins is ridiculously pathetic. Let me get that one out first. While the ‘72 Dolphins went for a season undefeated, these Dolphins are going through a season winless. Hee hee… They are currently hobbling at a humiliating 0-6 stand, letting them become only one of two teams yet to taste a win this year. The St. Louis Rams being the other one.
Expect the New England Patriots to bitch-slap the Miami Dolphins -13.5 at home.
On Sunday Night Football, the Pittsburgh Steelers visit INVESCO Field to play the Denver Broncos. After a disappointing season following their Super Bowl win, this year’s…

Week 5 baby and we still have a few teams looking to erase the shit the ‘72 Dolphins have in the NFL.
And in case you didn’t get that, the 1972 Miami Dolphins are still the only team in pro football who finished a full year UNDEFEATED. In this 2007-08 NFL football season, the Patriots, the Packers, the Cowboys and the Colts are the only four teams that still have a chance of matching that feat.
Of course, they gotta’ win in Week 5 first. And the last time NFL football was on, the Pittsburgh Steelers saw their ascend to the ‘72 Dolphins record come to a screeching halt when the Arizona Cardinals handed them their very first loss of the season.
Hmm… I wonder which among these four undefeated teams will be dealt their first loss of the year?
First, the New England Patriots. These guys will be hosting a lowly Cleveland Browns team in probably one of the toughest games to win a football game, Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.
The Browns are 2-2 this season. Sure, they were able to beat the powerhouse Baltimore Ravens last Sunday, but this time, they have the Patriots. And when you face a team who has two of the hottest guys in football right now, that being Tom Brady and Randy Moss, you don’t have a chance.
Expect the New England Patriots to…

The Patriots undefeated? CHECK. The Colts too? CHECK. Miami still suck? CHECK. Packers are perfect? Wha?!?
Yep, that’s apparently the theme after three weeks into the 2007-08 NFL football season. Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers are the talk of the town, topping the struggling Chargers, Belichick’s cameras and of course, Terrell Owens.
On Sunday, Week 4 of the NFL season will see the red-hot Green Bay Packers (because green is the new red…) visit Minnesota to take on the Vikings. This would be an NFC North rivalry game you shouldn’t miss, that is if you want to witness history on Sunday.
Yes, Brett Favre could very well be the all-time leader in touchdowns when they visit Minnesota. As of press time, the immortal Favre is tied with Dan Marino for most career touchdowns in the NFL.
That’s 420 TDs for all ya’ll too lazy to do your research. Another touchdown for Brett Favre against a very pathetic Vikings defense is inevitable. Oh yeah, in case you’re wondering, there’s no reason for you to bet against the Green Bay Packers. Take ‘em to win -6.5 over the Minnesota Vikings people.
On NFL Sunday Night Football, one of the biggest rivalries in the NFC will…

Yes, we’ll be trying to do these things weekly here on OddJack.
Because we just love NFL football and are already sick and tired of hearing stuff about David Beckham and soccer, we’ll TRY to put in NFL football stuff as much as we can and just because the season officially kicks off Thursday, we’ll get things started a bit with these Week 1 betting picks.
The Indianapolis Colts host the New Orleans Saints to start the brand new 2007-08 NFL football season. It’s Peyton Manning, last season’s Super Bowl MVP, taking on the rocket arm of Drew Brees from New Orleans.
Yeah, sure, the New Orleans Saints QB sure has one heckuva’n arm but it’s Peyton Manning for crying out loud. If he can’t beat you straight up, he’ll put you out of your game with those irritating audibles of his behind center. The Indianapolis Colts will win -13.5.
As for the rest of them games, the Philadelphia Eagles visit the historic Lambeau Field to take on the immortal Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers. This one is a match-up between two quarterbacks trying to resurrect their respective careers.
Donovan McNabb has been hampered with a…

I guess the Big Apple ain’t so big in the NFL Playoffs eh?
Yep, in one Sunday afternoon, the twin towers of New York city as far as NFL Football is concerned went down to the ground as the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots wipe out New York city from the post-season.
First, let’s start with the New England Patriots. It was a battle of two former colleagues as Bill Belichick leads his New England Patriots against his former assistant Eric Mangini and the New York Jets.
Mangini was no match for Bill Belichick Sunday.
Eric Mangini and the New York Jets lost to the New England Patriots, 37-16 in what turned out to be the most lopsided NFL Football playoff game of the NFL wildcard weekend. New York Jets wideout Jerricho Cotchery was a revelation for the Jets during a 10-victory season that landed them in the playoffs, as if by a lark, to hear outsiders talk.
After winning a starting position in training camp, he made one clutch catch after another, including…

And here comes another one.
Injured New York Giants Pro Bowl defensive end Michael Strahan joined the ranks of Jeremy Shockey and Tiki Barber in mouthing off in what is quickly becoming a season of frustration for the team.
Strahan tried to intimidate an ESPN reporter who attempted to question him about comments he made on the radio Monday about receiver Plaxico Burress quitting on plays. Strahan yelled at ESPN reporter Kelly Naqi as she stood behind about three dozen members of the media trying to question him.
Just why did this thing happened?
Because the star players can’t keep their mouths shut. That’s why.
Strahan spent most of this three-minute lecture telling the media how to do their jobs, which is the ironic part of this episode, of course. Strahan conveniently forgets that he is part of the media this time, paid by WFAN to provide analysis on a weekly basis.
Don’t want the headache? Then don’t use the word “quit” to describe the behavior of a teammate. But don’t blame the media — your “colleagues” — for asking about…

Right about now, a lot of folks want nothing less.
The more you think about the Bonds steroid bombshell, the more you realize there is only one recourse to the Bonds Problem. The Giants and the rest of the MLB need to divorce themselves of Bonds.
We seen enough of Bonds. Only the surpassingly gullible could consider him the kind of athletic icon worthy of a young fan’s worship. The man who once saved baseball for San Francisco has now a different ending for his reality show than the one that was originally planned.
If Barry Bonds had been the most loved man in baseball, the truth about his steroid use would be a massive and forever damaging scandal. Of course, most people don’t like him much. So it will be a lot worse. [Davenetics]
No way! Never would have thunk it. Barry Bonds? You’re kidding me, right? It appears these guys have done their homework, too. They have thousands of documents and over 200 interviews to back their claims. I haven’t read the book or the SI excerpt yet, but I do know this. Bonds is f***ed. [Chicago Sportsblogs]
Are they going to continue with the reality show. Because this is as real as it gets. Now, Pete Rose is not alone in the Hall of Shame coz Barry’s coming over to join the club…
Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, Mark McGwire and all the other greats paid their dues the hard way. As for Bonds? He had…
