Hey, at least these guys have began believing.
After winning their first preseason game before the 2008-09 NFL football season officially begins, the Cardinals have earned the right to start believing in themselves, earning the license if you will, to be optimistic after years of turmoil within the organization.
You read it, the Arizona Cardinals, after earing their first preseason win over the Chiefs in Kansas City, have began believing that they just might have what it takes to be a legitimate contender in the NFC West.
Hey, since that division will
probably be the weakest one coming into the regular season, this is probably the perfect time for the Cardinals to make bold statements while they can. And since they now have two solid quarterbacks trying to outdo one another, resulting to a 27-17 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, we can’t really blame these guys for being this naïve early into the football calendar right?
Kurt Warner, Arizona’s 11-year veteran, is still trying to win the Cardinals’ no.1 quarterback spot. He started against the Chiefs, hitting six of…

We knew this one was only a matter of time.
While teams prepare for the coming 2008-09 NFL football season, one team finally made a choice that will probably be the difference between a run at the Super Bowl title or another early vacation.
I’m referring to the Chicago Bears. And yes, they finally made a choice, putting an end to this quarterback drama in the Windy City that lasted for two years. People, Rex Grossman won’t be starting.
You read it, Rex Grossman, after
leading his team to Super Bowl XLI against the Indianapolis Colts two seasons ago, was finally shelved after head coach Lovie Smith made the decision of awarding Kyle Orton the starting QB spot after Grossman, despite his Super Bowl run, still showed inconsistencies and erratic plays.
Kyle Orton will start for the Chicago Bears on Thursday when they play the San Francisco 49ers in a preseason game. He will also start for the Bears in their regular season opener against their Super Bowl XLI rivals…

Because the start of football season means it’s time to live out your fantasies.
Unfortunately, that doesn’t include a seven-hour ‘’humping'’ marathon with Anne Hathaway. The 2008-09 NFL football season is upon us people and when full grown men talk about their fantasies, they’re not talking about tits and ass but their own fantasy football teams.
Who should you pick in the first round of your fantasy draft? Did you win it all with your Tom Brady - Randy Moss combo? Or did you suffered a tragic loss playing for the championship when Brady and Moss both had terribly bad performances when the Patriots ALMOST lost to the Giants in their last game of the regular season? (Remember that? I almost did…)
Of course, the
hot pick in this year’s NFL fantasy draft is last season’s rookie of the year Adrian Peterson. He has singlehandedly carried the Minnesota Vikings back from obscurity. They ALMOST made the playoffs to boot too.
I won’t be surprised to see the young runningback beat LaDanian Tomlinson for the top spot in fantasy ratings this season.
However, as impressive as Peterson has become in fantasy football, there’s this one guy that has done better, Philadelphia Eagles runningback…

How about that huh?
The brand new 2008-09 NFL football season is almost here and somewhere in Philly, Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb has began to reminisce what would’ve it been if he and Terrell Owens got along.
You read it, apparently, Philadelphia Eagles QB Donovan McNabb misses former teammate Terrell Owens, saying that is T.O. stayed in Philly instead of leaving for Dallas, ‘’it could’ve been great.'’
‘’It could’ve been great,'’ Donovan McNabb said. ‘’What did we have, 30 TDs? You don’t see that type of combination very often. That’s like Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison. We would’ve been up there.'’
You really can’t blame McNabb for thinking the way he does right now. He spent most of the last two seasons in the injury list while former teammate Terrell Owens came THAT close from reaching the Super Bowl again with the Dallas Cowboys.
McNabb knows too that Owens finally have a quarterback he can trust and listens to in Tony Romo. And while the Cowboys are slowly becoming the team to beat in the NFC, McNabb’s Eagles are slowly falling to the pits of obscurity after every season.
For what it’s worth, McNabb says he’s…

A re-peat. These things are hard to come by in the NFL these days.
The 2008-09 NFL football season is almost here and the New York Giants will start the season as defending world champions. Crazy huh? Who would’ve thought we’d be able to say that about them Giants?
As the new regular season kicks off, the team to watch this year is of course the defending Super Bowl champions the New York Giants. Despite winning it all last season, many people still doubt the talent in this team. Can these guys shock those people all over again?
Many experts did not give credit for the Giants’ playoff run last season since they were not a championship-caliber team. Hell, when they had their somewhat slow start during that season, many people counted them out of even making the playoffs. Was their win over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII a fluke?
Fluke or not, the Giants won the Super Bowl and will have the opportunity for a re-peat in the coming season when they begin their road for Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa, Florida.
Eli Manning is now the leader of this team together with wide receiver Plaxico Burress. Giants fans expect…

Because saving the pathetic shithole that is Miami is already a futile effort.
The 2008-09 NFL football season is just around the corner and just like the last couple of years, Ricky Williams will once again, try to salvage what’s left of his NFL career after failing to do just that year after year.
In case you haven’t heard, Ricky Williams has been trying to make a successful comeback in the NFL. He was once one of the premiere runningbacks in the league, but after he decided to get his ass doped like Lindsay Lohan, he was expelled from the NFL and has been trying to recapture the glory days of the past since.
So what’s the problem? This guy still has the talent to be a solid back but is yet to have the same impact in the league like he did in his pre-weed days. I’ma break it down for ya’ people, the problem is not Ricky, the problem here is he’s still playing for a fucked-up team like the Miami Dolphins.
I can’t blame the guy for not getting enough of dope. Hell, playing for a shithole like Miami will do that to any athlete. Weed, heroin, cocaine, ANYTHING that can make one forget that he’s living in a cesspool like Miami is understandable. What Ricky needs is to be SAVED from Miami, only then will his…

You read it people, Aaron Rodgers finally had his first NFL game as a starter for the Packers.
With the 2008-09 NFL football season just around the corner, Packer fans should be happy to know that the guy who replaced Brett Favre is a solid young NFL quarterback.
The problem is, their team lost. Aaron Rodgers stepped up to the plate as the Packers’ starting quarterback, providing a few highlights that include a pair of scoring drives at Lambeau Field. Unfortunately, they lost to the Cincinnati Bengals 20-17. He was solid indeed but it wasn’t enough to give Green Bay a win.
The Green Bay Packers CAN’T WIN without Favre and we saw that in Rodgers’ first NFL game as the Packers’ starting quarterback. If this was a precursor of things to come for Green Bay, then I reckon trading one of the game’s greatest football players away to New York City was one dumb idea.
For what it’s worth, Rodgers showed some signs that he has what it takes to lead the Packers after Brett Favre. After spending most of the last three seasons holding a clipboard, Rodgers showed no signs of nerves in his first game out of Favre’s shadow.
Rodgers completed nine out of 15 passes for…

It’s over. And football fans in Green Bay should hate the Packers for it.
The long wait is over on who will be the starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers in the coming 2008-09 NFL football season. After they traded Brett Favre away to the New York Jets, the obvious answer to the question, ‘’who will be starting for the Cheeseheads this season'’ is Aaron Rodgers.
Aaron Rodgers, who was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the first round, 24th overall in 2005 was initially told that when Brett Favre retires, he will be their guy at the quarterback position.
This was put on hold
when Brett Favre decided to postpone retirement yet again. The Packers initially let Favre compete with Rodgers for the starting QB spot but after the Packers realized that the organization can no longer co-exist with No.4, the trade to the Jets came.
Packers head coach Mike McCarthy has been in contact with Favre throughout this ordeal. He knew then that the team was moving on with or without Favre, even before they made the big trade with the New York Jets like a thief in the night.
‘’The football team’s moving forward. The train has left the station, whatever analogy you want. He needs to jump on the train and let’s go. Or, if…'’

Wow.
Just when we thought we’ll see Brett Favre playing for the Green Bay Packers in the 2008-09 NFL football season, a curve ball was thrown at us that saw the Packers trading the future Hall-of-Famer to the New York Jets.
You read it, Brett Favre was traded by the Packers to the New York Jets after all the speculations about ‘’the ultimate Packer'’ moving to either the Minnesota Vikings or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
We already knew the Green Bay Packers were already committed to starting the young Aaron Rodgers at quarterback for the
coming season. And after they traded away Green Bay’s football icon, we now know how serious the Packers are of finally putting the young Rodgers to test.
The New York Jets traded a fourth-round pick to the Packers for Favre. A draft pick that increases in value depending on how far Favre (no pun intended) takes the Jets in the coming season.
If Favre takes 50 percent of the total snaps with the Jets this season, the fourth rounder becomes a third-round pick. If Favre gets 70 percent of the snaps and the Jets make the playoffs, it becomes a second-round pick.
If Brett Favre gets 80 percent of the snaps and the Jets make…

These guys want to become the dominant force of NFL football again and forget the mess that transpired in Super Bowl XLII in Glendale.
With the 2008 NFL football season only a hiccup away, teams from the AFC have begun their road in recapturing the title ‘’dominant conference'’ after losing it when the Giants shocked the then undefeated Patriots to become Super Bowl XLII champions.
Of course, there’s no team more eager in recapturing that dominance than the New England Patriots. After finishing the regular season undefeated to reach the Super Bowl only to lose to New York, the Patriots will be out for blood this year.
Randy Moss is on
board, Tom Brady is still there and they still have their coach Bill Belichick, who will win games for you by any means necessary. Besides, these guys have unfinished business with history and I won’t be surprised if they flirt with perfection again.
Also a team to look out in the AFC is the Indianapolis Colts. Extremely talented and well-coached, the Colts should still be serious contenders for the Super Bowl title.
With Peyton Manning at the helm and Tony Dungy in the sidelines, this team can beat anybody and just might have enough to challenge the Patriots for a perfect regular season record. But first, they will have to figure out how to keep their…
