Oh yeah, in case you forgot, Tom Brady was playing with an injured foot then when his then undefeated New England Patriots lost to the New York Giants at the Super Bowl.

As of press time, Brady claims he’s feeling great and when his Patriots play the New York Giants for their last exhibition game of the preseason on Thursday, you can bet your ass Brady would want to have a part of it.

‘’I'm hoping I’m always out there,'’ Tom Brady said, referring to the preseason games he missed because of the injury, ‘’and if I don’t play, I’ll be ready for Kansas City.'’

The Patriots are scheduled to play the Kansas City Chiefs when they begin their 2008 campaign at Foxboro. Thankfully, the Chiefs are in disarray this season and I’m not expecting Brady to require that much effort from his injured foot to beat those guys.

Yes, we had exactly the same thing a season ago.

And while Favre’s continued affair with retirement looms every single year, Strahan’s version of it wasn’t that predictable coming into the 2008-09 NFL football season.

After all, with the New York Giants winning the Super Bowl XLII to culminate what has been a Cinderella run last year, retiring on top of the game surely was the way to go for this longtime veteran right?

WRONG. After Osi Umenyiora suffered a season-ending knee injury even before the regular season began, the focus quickly shifted to the now retired Michael Strahan, hoping that the leader of the Giants defense will give it another shot to fill in for the injured defensive end.

Will Michael Strahan actually give it another go? The Giants know how important defense was in their Super Bowl title run last season. And those guys know too that the most important piece in that defense is the 36-year-old retired Giant.

Sure, he may not have 30+ fantasy point games like Tom Brady or Drew Brees can have from time to time but you can be rest assured that you’ll have solid production from this guy every single week.

After all, any dude from Wisconsin will feel lost in a city like New York City. But since Brett Favre will start to salvage what’s left of his NFL career playing for the city that never sleeps in the coming 2008-09 NFL football season, this is probably the first and last time we’ll make fun of him.

For some reason, Tom Brady and his foot can’t seem to cooperate as one cohesive unit.

You read it, as the 2008-09 NFL football season draws near, Tom Brady continues to have problems with his foot, dating as far back as Super Bowl XLII when his then undefeated Patriots lost to the New York Giants after Brady was seen in New York wearing a ‘’special boot'’ of some sort.

And while Tom Brady continues to deny that this is the same injury that led to his New England Patriots losing to the Giants in the Super Bowl, we can’t help but to think otherwise. After all, it is on the same leg.

For now, Tom Brady is trying to be smart about his latest injury, resting his injured leg until the regular season, where it counts, officially starts.

With only a few more days before the brand new 2008-09 NFL football season explodes on your face, the Baltimore Ravens are still contemplating on when will they actually let the future arrive.

Of course, I’m referring to Troy Smith, the young quarterback who won a Heisman and yet, didn’t see that many minutes last season, playing third string in the Ravens quarterback depth chart.

But after last year’s starter Kyle Boller committed a team-high three turnovers in two preseason games, the Baltimore Ravens started looking for a positive change and as of press time, they’re looking at Smith to give them just that.

This Saturday, the Heisman trophy winner will be put to the test against the St. Louis Rams in what would be Baltimore’s third preseason game. I’m really hoping Smith does good because being a third string Heisman trophy winning quarterback is just not fair.

You read it, Steven Jackson just signed a new contract with the St. Louis Rams as they prepare to get a winning year for a change in the 2008-09 NFL football season.

In case you didn’t know, Steven Jackson was holding out on his team, asking for a contract extension which expires in the coming season. The explosive running back wasn’t attending his team’s practices because of it while his team continued to fine him for it.

Now that the St. Louis Rams finally found a way to keep their franchise back, the focus shifts back to the only thing that matters in the NFL, winning. And after last season’s horrendous campaign, the Rams are hoping that Jackson stays the hell out of early season injuries this time. Because hey, they’re paying him good money to play on the field and not sit on his couch nursing an injury right?

For what it’s worth, his head coach is more than happy to see his prized running back, back on the field practicing. The Rams are still a long way from being a legitimate title contender but since their division in the NFC West is still one of the worst divisions in NFL football, having Jackson back will sure make things easier for these guys.

You read it, the Arizona Cardinals, after earing their first preseason win over the Chiefs in Kansas City, have began believing that they just might have what it takes to be a legitimate contender in the NFC West.

Hey, since that division will probably be the weakest one coming into the regular season, this is probably the perfect time for the Cardinals to make bold statements while they can. Because the start of football season means it’s time to live out your fantasies.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t include a seven-hour ‘’humping'’ marathon with Anne Hathaway. The 2008-09 NFL football season is upon us people and when full grown men talk about their fantasies, they’re not talking about tits and ass but their own fantasy football teams.
