My NFL Fantasy Team for the 2008-09 NFL Football Season (Well, I’m hoping to draft them anyway…)

By: Syndicate

Hopefully, this’ll improve my fantasy ranking. Hee hee…

You read it, the 2008-09 NFL football season is here and that means it’s time to build your fantasy teams that’ll probably earn you the right to talk smack all week long, provided you won your fantasy match-ups over the weekend of course.

So, who you gonna’ choose? Here’s my own version of a dream NFL fantasy team and if you were fortunate enough to draft these guys under one roster, it’s either you’re one lucky guy or you’re the league commissioner. (Wink! Wink!)

Let’s start off with the QB LaDainian Tomlinsonposition. There are a lot of great quarterbacks in the game right now but if you’re looking for solid fantasy points on a consistent basis, Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning is your man.

Sure, he may not have 30+ fantasy point games like Tom Brady or Drew Brees can have from time to time but you can be rest assured that you’ll have solid production from this guy every single week.

Manning holds NFL records for consecutive seasons with over 4,000 yards passing and the most total seasons with 4,000 or more yards passing in a career. Manning is also second on the list for highest career passer rating, THAT means, he’s more likely to come up with a…

Who should you pick in your 2008 NFL Fantasy Draft?

By: J.J. Jack

Because the start of football season means it’s time to live out your fantasies.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t include a seven-hour ‘’humping'’ marathon with Anne Hathaway. The 2008-09 NFL football season is upon us people and when full grown men talk about their fantasies, they’re not talking about tits and ass but their own fantasy football teams.

Who should you pick in the first round of your fantasy draft? Did you win it all with your Tom Brady - Randy Moss combo? Or did you suffered a tragic loss playing for the championship when Brady and Moss both had terribly bad performances when the Patriots ALMOST lost to the Giants in their last game of the regular season? (Remember that? I almost did…)

Of course, the hot pick in this year’s NFL fantasy draft is last season’s rookie of the year Adrian Peterson. He has singlehandedly carried the Minnesota Vikings back from obscurity. They ALMOST made the playoffs to boot too.

I won’t be surprised to see the young runningback beat LaDanian Tomlinson for the top spot in fantasy ratings this season.

However, as impressive as Peterson has become in fantasy football, there’s this one guy that has done better, Philadelphia Eagles runningback…

The Top AFC Teams this 2008-09 NFL Football Season

By: J.J. Jack

These guys want to become the dominant force of NFL football again and forget the mess that transpired in Super Bowl XLII in Glendale.

With the 2008 NFL football season only a hiccup away, teams from the AFC have begun their road in recapturing the title ‘’dominant conference'’ after losing it when the Giants shocked the then undefeated Patriots to become Super Bowl XLII champions.

Of course, there’s no team more eager in recapturing that dominance than the New England Patriots. After finishing the regular season undefeated to reach the Super Bowl only to lose to New York, the Patriots will be out for blood this year.

Randy Moss is on Tom Bradyboard, Tom Brady is still there and they still have their coach Bill Belichick, who will win games for you by any means necessary. Besides, these guys have unfinished business with history and I won’t be surprised if they flirt with perfection again.

Also a team to look out in the AFC is the Indianapolis Colts. Extremely talented and well-coached, the Colts should still be serious contenders for the Super Bowl title.

With Peyton Manning at the helm and Tony Dungy in the sidelines, this team can beat anybody and just might have enough to challenge the Patriots for a perfect regular season record. But first, they will have to figure out how to keep their…

Can the Indianapolis Colts overcome their Injuries?

By: J.J. Jack

Yes, injuries are plaguing one of the best teams in football.

While we count down the remaining days left before the 2008-09 NFL football season kicks off, the Colts are on dangerous grounds these days with three of their main stars injured.

Bob Sanders has an injured shoulder, Marvin Harrison has an injured knee, Dwight Freeney’s Lisfranc and probably the biggest of them all, Peyton Manning has an infected bursa sac.

With all these injuries, you’ve got to wonder, can these guys keep up with their AFC rivals, New England Patriots, and climb back on top of the mountain like they did a year ago?

Being the competitors that they are, the Indianapolis Colts are not giving up on hope just yet, after all, the brand new season is yet to start. In fact, they are coming into the season with a whole lot of confidence, claiming that they may have put together one of their most talented rosters in franchise history.

You have to wonder how in the hell can these guys claim that with their leader Peyton Manning out at least a month. STILL, Colts team president Bill Polian likes his team’s chances this season. It is up to…

The Indianapolis Colts are no longer the good boys of NFL Football… Just ask wideout Marvin Harrison

By: Syndicate

Just when you think the Patriots are the ones being hated the most after their ’spying cameras scandal’ last season, this happened.

For all ya’ll who didn’t know, Indianapolis Colts star Marvin Harrison was recently linked to a shooting near his car wash and garage. Reports say Harrison was neither charged nor is under investigation by the authorities. After this one, he should be.

With still more than a few months more before the brand new 2008-09 NFL football season begins, Marvin Harrison found himself making headlines already although this is the kind of news nobody would like to be in.

Turns out that six of the Marvin Harrisonbullet casings found from the shooting came from the gun owned by… you guessed it, Indianapolis Colts star wide receiver Marvin Harrison.

This is after the police returned to the scene of the crime to examine the bullet holes in two residences after new information was given to the authorities by an alleged third victim of the shooting incident. Chances are, it won’t be Peyton Manning.

Marvin Harrison and his people still claim the Colts wideout was not present during the said shooting, claiming that Harrison’s gun was not involved. Luckily for this guy, the police still has no clue of any…

Colts lose 28-24 to injured Chargers, what da fuck?!?

By: Seth Edward O'Neal

seth-edward-oneal.jpgIf you’ve been watching these football games the past six months, this should be your sentiments exactly.

Yep, the Indianapolis Colts, the team that was suppose to be the biggest road block in the middle of the Patriots’ road for a Super Bowl championship, just got blindsided by the injury-plagued San Diego Chargers, beating the Colts without quarterback Philip Rivers and star runningback LaDainian Tomlinson.

Imagine that huh? Peyton Manning, last year’s Super Bowl MVP, lost to a team being ran by the likes of quarterback Billy Volek and halfback Michael Turner. If you don’t have a clue who these guys are, I don’t blame you.

Well, the Indianapolis Colts will remember Peyton Manningthem for sure. And after Volek and Turner led the Chargers to a 28-24 upset of Indianapolis, every single soul in Indiana will make them remember.

And as expected, Philip Rivers and LaDainian Tomlinson were more than happy to see the subs play like they did. After everything that has been said about the Colts going under the radar this season, the San Diego Chargers definitely put these Colts under, for good.

‘’No one seemed rattled,'’ LaDainian Tomlinson, the two-time NFL rushing champion, said. He only had 28 yards on seven carries. ‘’Guys just kept playing. It was really amazing to…'’

2007-08 NFL Football Week 14 Gambling Guide

By: J.J. Jack

It’s Week 14 and while people may disagree on which teams should go to a BCS bowl game, there’s nothing like that in the NFL.

Yep, because quite frankly, the title contenders are already separating themselves from the rest of the pack by a considerable margin after thirteen weeks into the 2007-08 NFL football season.

And speaking of separating themselves from the rest of the field, there’s no other team in the NFL right now that have separated themselves more than the still perfect New England Patriots. At 12-0, they should be the heavy favorites to represent the AFC in Super Bowl XLII at Glendale. And with their closest rivals, the Indianapolis Colts, STILL two games behind them, that shouldn’t change anytime soon.

Peyton ManningThey have the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday in a game many are claiming to be the very game that will stop the Pats in their pursuit of perfection. But if New England’s come-from-behind win over Baltimore last week is any indication of how motivated these Pats are in winning football games this year, the Steel Curtain wouldn’t stand a chance.

New England already brought one defensive powerhouse from Baltimore down last week and I reckon defensive powerhouse No.2 will go down the same way. Pick the Pats -13.5 over the…

Indianapolis Colts V Atlanta Falcons on Thanksgiving

By: J.J. Jack

The Atlanta Falcons are struggling and the Indianapolis Colts will let the Birds see why they have no business being on the same field with them.

In what would be the first Thursday Night Football game of the 2007-08 NFL football season, (because they normally kick these off on Thanksgiving…) the Indianapolis Colts take on the Atlanta Falcons at the Georgia Dome.

And while the rest of the nation go ga-ga over the ridiculously powerful Patriots, the Indianapolis Colts will pound the birds in Atlanta in preparation for their possible second meeting with the Pats this time in the playoffs.

Peyton ManningThe Indianapolis Colts continue to hover under the radar, and after they suffered their first loss of the season to the New England Patriots, they continue to, especially after they had their second straight loss, this time to the San Diego Chargers, before finally getting back to the win column after beating the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday.

However, despite the win over Kansas City, it seems Indianapolis Colts superstar Peyton Manning lost that fire after losing to Patriots QB Tom Brady three weeks ago.

After losing to Pats 24-20, Peyton Manning lost to San Diego 23-21 in a game where he recorded a rather miserable 49.4 QB rating. Of course, what was even more shocking during that game against…

2007-08 NFL Football Week 11 Gambling Guide

By: J.J. Jack

The New England Patriots are playing again and yes, I already miss their OH-SO-DOMINANT form.

The Pats, after dominating the football field for NINE straight games this 2007-08 NFL football season, are coming off their bye-week and will be back on the field against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football. This should be a good one considering how bad these Pats pounded Buffalo the last time they played.

The New England Patriots pounded the Bills 38-7 then for their third straight win of what would be a dominant nine-game winning streak. The Bills, on the other hand, lost starting QB J.P. Losman during that game after taking a rather vicious hit from the Patriots defense.

Tom BradyHowever, instead of simply folding, the Buffalo Bills used that loss to the Patriots as a wake-up call as they went on to a 5-1 stand since losing Losman. Led by rookie quarterback Trent Edwards, the Bills just kept on winning, shocking most of us every week. Their only loss belongs to the Dallas Cowboys in a game they almost won too, 25-24.

Well, J.P. Losman will be starting for the Buffalo Bills again in his personal rematch with the New England Patriots defense. Come game time, Losman returning wouldn’t matter because…

San Diego Chargers give Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts their second straight loss

By: Syndicate

The New England Patriots are no longer the only team that can claim they beat the defending Super Bowl champs.

After the 10th Sunday of the 2007-08 NFL football season was over, the Colts, yes YOUR defending Super Bowl champions, suffered their second consecutive loss of the season and this time, they can’t put the blame on Tom Brady for being too good.

It was the San Diego Chargers this time around as they jumped on Indianapolis right from the get-go, scoring first via a remarkable 89-yard kickoff return by Darren Sproles to start the game.

Peyton ManningAfter a 33-yard Nate Kaeding field goal and yet another return for a touchdown from Sproles, the Chargers had a commanding 16-0 lead over the Colts after the very first quarter.

LaDainian Tomlinson scored on a four-yard touchdown run to put his team ahead 23-0 over Indianapolis early in the second quarter as the Colts defense were still probably reeling from those two returns for touchdowns from Darren Sproles.

Although that Tomlinson touchdown was the last thing the San Diego Chargers would be able to do, they held on just enough to win the game while Peyton Manning just kept on throwing interceptions while trying to run the Colts offense.

For what it’s worth, the Indianapolis Colts still had a chance to win the game with 1:31 left. They were down 23-21 and Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri was well within range, a 29-yarder, to give the Colts a…
