Dolphins trade Jason Taylor to the Washington Redskins

By: J.J. Jack

WOAH WOAH WOAH… This should be the biggest trade of the NFL offseason.

As the 2008-09 NFL football season draws near, we already have the biggest trade made even before teams start playing with that pigskin. Ladies and gentlemen, Jason Taylor was finally SAVED from a shithole like Miami and will now play for the nation’s capital, Washington.

You read it, Jason Taylor was traded by the Miami Dolphins to the Washington Redskins after the Redskins lost defensive end Phillip Daniels for the rest of the year and desperately needed to fill the void he left.

With Jason Taylor, not only has Jason Taylorthe Washington Redskins fill that void, they probably became instant title contenders in the process. Of course, it is yet to be seen if Taylor can really carry the Redskins over the hump but as far as the Redskins organization is concerned, Jason Taylor is a ‘’Taylor-made fit.'’

‘’We’re fortunate there was a guy that caliber on the market when somebody got hurt,'’ Washington Redskins executive vice president Vinny Cerrato said. ‘’Normally, in most years, there’s not a guy of that caliber on the market.'’

Why was this guy readily available for the Redskins? EASY. Taylor wanted to be saved from the shithole that is Miami and when he…

2007-08 NFL Football Week 7 Betting Picks

By: J.J. Jack

It has been seven weeks of NFL football folks and we still have two teams yet to taste defeat on that football field.

Yep, the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts, two rivals from the AFC, are still undefeated and are still on that road to match the mark set by the 1972 Miami Dolphins, that being finishing a single season PERFECT. And as the 2007-08 NFL football season heads for Week 7, you can bet your ass we’ll be watching these two teams and wait who’ll blink first.

The New England Patriots, the heavy favorites to win it all this season, ironically have the now pathetic Miami Dolphins on Sunday as they try to keep their bid to match the mark set by these Dolphins’ 1972 counterparts alive.

This year’s version of the Miami Dolphins is ridiculously pathetic. Let me get that one out first. While the ‘72 Dolphins went for a season undefeated, these Dolphins are going through a season winless. Hee hee… They are currently hobbling at a humiliating 0-6 stand, letting them become only one of two teams yet to taste a win this year. The St. Louis Rams being the other one.

Expect the New England Patriots to bitch-slap the Miami Dolphins -13.5 at home.

On Sunday Night Football, the Pittsburgh Steelers visit INVESCO Field to play the Denver Broncos. After a disappointing season following their Super Bowl win, this year’s…

2007-08 NFL Football Week 2 Betting Picks

By: J.J. Jack

Yep, it’s Week 2 baby and we sure had a lot of things that went down already.

First, we found out that the Indianapolis Colts are still in championship form after dismantling the New Orleans Saints to kickoff the 2007-08 NFL football season. Then, we saw Denver’s dramatic win over Buffalo from a last second field goal overshadowed by the horrible spinal injury to Bills tight end Kevin Everett. And who can forget that spying cameraman the Patriots had monitoring the Jets?

Yep, all of that happened in Week 1. And as we prepare for Week 2 of the 2007-08 NFL football season, we can expect more of the same stuff. Hell, Terrell Owens hasn’t even started talking yet.

Our Week 2 betting picks thing begins with the most valuable team in the NFL, according to Forbes magazine anyway, Dallas Cowboys, taking on the Miami Dolphins at Dolphin Stadium.

Tony Romo sure looked like he’s ready to put that botched field goal try from last season’s playoffs behind him and become Dallas’ next great quarterback. Well, at least he looked the part against the New York Giants from Week 1. They have the Miami Dolphins next and although new Dolphins quarterback Trent Green should be reason enough to be hopeful in Florida, losing to a pathetic team like the…

Washington Redskins QB Jason Campbell talks funny

By: J.J. Jack

And apparently, the guy wants the entire city of Washington to get used to it.

Yep, in a city where there’s really nothing else to talk about but football, (…and basketball if the Washington Wizards win one goddamn game in the playoffs…) new starting Washington Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell is being watched closely. Hell, they’ve been watching this guy so much that they don’t go to the bathroom until Campbell goes.

So what have they been saying about Jason Campbell, starting for the first time for Washington heading to the 2007-08 NFL football season?

jason_campbell.jpgWell, he is… um… OK, but apparently, not quite good enough yet to rescue the Redskins from their cloak of failure.

Jason Campbell, right from the get-go, knew that every single thing he does from now on will be heavily scrutinized in Washington. Despite that, Washington’s suppose-to-be savior has handled all the hype and criticism pretty well. Even if it comes from his own Washington Redskins teammates.

Apparently, not only are the Washington locals into Campbell’s case lately. His teammates have been hounding him about his somewhat funny Mississippi accent that Redskins receiver Antwaan Randle El, no matter how bad he plays these days, had the nerve to make fun of a guy who can…

Problems within the Washington Redskins NFL Camp

By: J.J. Jack

Kili Lefotu of the Washington Redskins was found unconscious in his hotel room.

Yep, the same Kili Lefotu who made headlines this spring when he became the first NCAA College Football player from the University of Arizona to be taken in the NFL Draft since 2003.

He was found unconscious in his Ashburn, Va., hotel room from what his agent now says as heatstroke.

Mike Colucci, Lefotu’s California-based agent, said that Lefotu had complained of being lethargic following his morning workout with the Washington Redskins. When Lefotu failed to show up for the team’s 7 pm practice, the Redskins sent team representatives to the National Conference Center, where the players are being housed. They found Lefotu unresponsive, but breathing, in his hotel room.

He was quickly revived, and was lucid and talkative by the time the ambulance arrived, his agent said.

‘’Their best guess is heatstroke and dehydration,'’ Colucci said. ‘’When you’re 6-5, 350 (pounds) and doing (practices in) full pads, that’s a definite possibility. We’re hoping it’s not head-or-heart related. We’re hoping it’s just a blip.'’

Doctors initially ruled out internal bleeding, but will continue to run tests on Lefotu. Lefotu’s pro career could depend on what they find.

‘’Best-case scenario, they run tests, hold him out (today) and he’s back Friday,'’ Colucci said. ‘’Worst case…'’

MLB Betting: Welcome Back Expos

By: J.J. Jack

expos_fans.jpgThe Washington Nationals have suddenly lost their superhero powers and are just the plain old Montreal Expos again. And not even the good Montreal Expos with the Hawk and Steve Rogers. We’re talking about the other Expos–with Henry Rodriguez and Omar Daal. We saw this coming–a team can’t win that many one run games throughout the entire year and not pay for it at some point. Tonight the Nationals head into Atlanta to battle the Braves for what could be the rest of their season. The Nationals are +155 away doggy dogs against the Braves–a number we haven’t seen from them in a while–
