Kimi Raikkonen wins 2008 F1 Spanish GP for Ferrari

By: J.J. Jack

Believe it people, F1 is already living in the age of the Iceman.

After four races into the 2008 F1 season, Ferrari ace driver Kimi Raikkonen further solidified his lead in the drivers’ championship standings after winning the latest F1 war waged in Spain.

The young Finn dominated the qualifying sessions for the 2008 Spanish Grand Prix, and again was as dominant on raceday after coming up with the fastest lap of the 66-lap race, clocking a startling 1:21:670 last Sunday for Ferrari.

Kimi RaikkonenAfter Kimi Raikkonen earned his first victory of the young 2008 F1 season in Malaysia, ‘’the Iceman'’ spoiled the homecoming party of double world champion Fernando Alonso in Spain, grabbing pole position as he dominated the race from start to finish.

As for Fernando Alonso, he didn’t even finish the whole thing, ending his home grand prix with a rather pathetic DNF.

Raikkonen’s teammate, Felipe Massa, finished second fastest to give Ferrari a one-two finish. That enabled Ferrari to assume control of…

‘’Even if I wanted to have sex with animals, it is still none of your business!'’ - FIA President Max Mosley

By: Syndicate

No, he didn’t really said that but that’s the drift he wanted everybody to get.

I’m sure you’ve already heard about the sex scandal that rocked FIA president Max Mosley and the rest of the F1 world this 2008 F1 season. Yup, after he was caught in a sex orgy via video tape, many people were clamoring for him to resign much to the dismay of the FIA big boss.

Yup, FIA president Max Mosley was asked to stepped down from his post after he was seen in a sex video having sex with five hookers dressed in Nazi outfits and as prison camp prisoners.

Mosley thinks otherwise, saying that his sex life, no matter how sick it is, is nobody’s business. He continues to defend his right to an ‘’eccentric'’ private life and said he would fight to continue running the world of motor racing.

‘’Most people say if somebody likes doing that, if it’s not harming anybody, if it’s in private and it’s completely secret and personal, it’s nothing to do with me,'’ FIA president Max Mosley said.

‘’If they wish me to continue, I will continue, if they don’t, I’ll stop. But I will also say to them that it was always my intention, because it is, that I was never going to go beyond…'’

Talladega Nights will come to NASCAR this Sunday

By: Seth Edward O'Neal

seth-edward-oneal.jpgNO, this is not the next Will Ferrell flick.

Seasoned drivers such as Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Tony Stewart and Kyle Busch will be among the pre-race favorites for the Aaron’s 499 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday, April 27 at Talladega Superspeedway.

The Sprint Cup Series is the top racing series of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing. Sprint Cup Series was formerly known as the Strictly Stock Series (1949), Grand National Series (1950-1971), the Winston Cup Series (1972-2003), the NEXTEL Cup Series (2004-2007), and most recently the Sprint Cup Series in 2008.

Jeff Gordon, who will wheel a specially painted No. 24 DuPont / Pepsi Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports in the Aaron’s 499 on Sunday, April 27, at Talladega Superspeedway will be shooting for his third straight Talladega Superspeedway victory after sweeping both Sprint Cup Series events at NASCAR’s Most Competitive Track in 2007.

‘’I don’t think a lot has changed since the last time we were there,'’ Jeff Gordon said during the recent Sprint Cup Series weekend at Phoenix International Raceway. ‘’We had an awesome, awesome day (last October), awesome race. Love to have the same result. Certainly any time we go to a restrictor track, and Talladega being one of the best ones out there for us, I always look forward to going there.'’

Dale Earnhardt Jr., Tony Stewart and Kyle Busch are among at least 12 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stars that will pull double duty during the upcoming Aaron’s Dream…

F1 star Lewis Hamilton to win the 2008 Spanish GP?

By: J.J. Jack

After three races into the F1 season, it seems Lewis Hamilton is not in the position he was expected to be in.

You read it people, although FIA president Max Mosley has been plaguing the headlines this season, some people are still interested in Formula One because of the actual racing and speaking of racing, last year’s rookie sensation is having some problems with it.

Three races of the 2008 F1 season are already in the history books. We’ve all seen what Australia, Malaysia and Bahrain brought to the table with defending champ Kimi Raikkonen on top after races one, two and three.

As we start the ‘’European season'’ Lewis Hamiltonof Formula One in Spain, McLaren - Mercedes star Lewis Hamilton dropped to third place after finishing 13th in Bahrain. With all the hype surrounding the ‘’next great BLACK hope'’ of F1, being in third place at this point of the F1 season is, to say the least, a disappointment.

After all, finishing 13th fastest in Bahrain is the lowest position of his 20 grands prix career and after he lost the standings lead to defending F1 world champion Kimi Raikkonen, Hamilton and his fans have all the reasons to start worrying.

For what it’s worth, the young British sensation remains…

By: Seth Edward O'Neal

seth-edward-oneal.jpgThis was expected of course.

In case you didn’t know already, FIA president Max Mosley was caught in a sex video that saw him engaging in a sex orgy with five hookers dressed in Nazi outfits and prison camp prisoners.

Calls for his resignation this 2008 F1 season came soon after. Fans and even past F1 champions have been clamoring for him to step down. Guess what, Max Mosley is still there and as a result, people like Porsche, who wants to be a part of the F1 world, are turned off because of it.

About more than a year ago, news about the possibility of Porsche joining Formula One racing came out. Recent infrastructure developments in Stuttgart that time prompted rumors that Porsche were preparing an F1 program.

Porsche says no to F1After the sex scandal FIA boss Max Mosley found himself into, you can now put those speculations to rest.

‘’After the affair with Max Mosley and the women it would not be very savory to get involved (in Formula One) now,'’ Porsche chairman Wolfgang Porsche told German news magazine Stern.

Too bad eh?

Max Mosley already said he won’t retire over the sex scandal, claiming that his sexual activities have nothing to do whatsoever on how he runs the motor racing world.

‘’I have received a very large number of messages of sympathy and support, suggesting that my private life is not relevant to my work and that I should continue…'’

Kimi Raikkonen wins 2008 Malaysian GP for Ferrari

By: J.J. Jack

At last, the defending F1 world champion finally scored his first win of the season.

With two races done into the 2008 F1 season, defending world champion Kimi Raikkonen finally scored his very first win of the brand new season after a horrific start in Melbourne a few weeks ago.

After finishing 8th in the very first race of the season, Kimi Raikkonen bounced back in Malaysia, finishing first in the recently held 2008 Malaysian Grand Prix last Sunday to cut Lewis Hamilton’s lead in the championship standings by just three points.

Kimi RaikkonenRaikkonen silenced his team’s critics with the win, explaining that the new Ferrari F2008 has more than enough pace to score W’s. That’s after some people questioned the car’s reliability when the team failed to finish strong in Australia.

‘’For sure we had quite a difficult weekend in Australia but I didn’t really expect to have such difficulties. We were not 100 percent sure things would be different here. We knew speed wise we would be fine, even in Australia the speed should have been fine,'’ Kimi Raikkonen said.

‘’Everything worked perfectly here and we…'’

By: Syndicate

Whatever that means.

With merely DAYS before the 2008 F1 season kicks off with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, Renault big boss Flavio Briatore says Fernando Alonso only has one-in-five chance of winning it all this season. Yes, they’re probably throwing in the towel already.

Flavio even told the media that he’s not as optimistic as his returning Spanish driver, Fernando Alonso, of winning this year’s title. Hmm… A little dissension within the team already perhaps? Uh oh…

‘’Fernando is talking about us having a 30 percent chance for the Championship,'’ Flavio Briatore said. ‘’I think it’s about 20 percent, which means he is more optimistic than me.'’

‘’We can’t recover everything in three months but we hope to be fighting and winning races by the middle of the season.'’

Flavio Briatore agrees with Fernando Alonso that the new R28 Renault will be using this season is not fast enough to challenge the Ferraris and the McLarens yet. But both of them will still be hoping for the best.

Whatever that means…

By: Syndicate

Yes people, the almighty Ferrari admits they are not perfect just yet.

Merely a few more weeks before the 2008 F1 season kicks off, teams are starting to figure out what needs to be done in order for them to compete for a championship by season’s end.

As the final testing in Barcelona concludes, Ferrari found out that they still have a lot of work to do if they want to have a repeat of last season’s success, when they won both the drivers’ and constructors’ championships.

Ferrari is happy with the performance of their new car, the F2008 (no gimmicky names there…) despite a few problems during testing in Barcelona last week.

F1 FerrariThe F2008 has been the form car during testing, but the team didn’t have everything their own way at the Circuit de Catalunya, and were outpaced by Lewis Hamilton and McLaren - Mercedes Thursday.

They were the only team on the track on Friday and had a few mechanical difficulties. However, Ferrari technical chief Aldo Costa is confident they are making headway with the 2008 Australian Grand Prix just a couple of weeks away to kick off the brand new season.

‘’The gearbox of Luca’s (Badoer) car leaked oil so he had to stop, while…'’
