Will Mike Tyson bite Evander Holyfield again?

By: J.J. Jack

Maybe. If they come up with a third match between these two heavyweights.

That’s apparently what some people are buzzing about. Mike Tyson - Evander Holyfield III is apparently in the works and you won’t believe where all of this came from first.

Rumors are afloat that Evander Holyfield is considering to have a rematch with Mike Tyson. This was just out of the picture for Evander until he was approached by one of Mike Tyson’s intermediaries.

But as always, when it comes to very publicized fights like this, there is one similar reaction to the fighters being asked. If the price is right.

Let’s face it, these are the two most respected boxers of all time. But after all the things that has happened during the previous fight, I can’t blame some people expecting another ‘’ear-biting'’ incident.

Evander ‘’The Real Deal'’ Holyfield, as we all know, is a very dedicated athlete. Discipline and dedication is what Evander is all about. (At least that’s what Evander and his people says…) He is a professional in and out of the ring.

‘’Iron'’ Mike Tyson, on the other hand…

Roger Federer wins the 2007 United States Open

By: Seth Edward O'Neal

seth-edward-oneal.jpgOf course he did, who else will win the latest grand slam in tennis?

Roger Federer, as expected, won the 2007 United States Open Championships, beating Novak Djokovic, 7-6 (4), 7-6 (2), 6-4.

Oh yeah, the 20-year-old Serbian Novak Djokovic had more than a few chances to upset the world No.1 too as Federer was somewhat, playing sloppy during the final game of the U.S. Open. Unfortunately, Djokovic simply failed to take advantage of it.

It definitely looked like Djokovic will pull off a first-set win over Roger Federer. The Serbian sensation had five first-set points, before ultimately letting Federer to take over and win the first one, 7-6.

Maria SharapovaIn the second set, again, Novak Djokovic had the opportunity to win it, holding his seventh set point of the game. He wasted yet another one, letting Federer win the first two sets of the match, the two sets Djokovic probably should’ve won.

Federer admitted that he wasn’t playing his best tennis during the 2007 U.S. Open final. But being the world-class athlete that he is, he just found a way to put the young Serbian away, much to the dismay of the hot and sexy Maria Sharapova.

And yes, Sharapova was, for some reason, cheering for…

Batista and Other Wrestlers Suspended by the WWE

By: J.J. Jack

Yep, the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) finally is making a move to stop the use of illegal substances within their organization.

I say, it’s about time. After the death of Eddie Guerrero and just recently, Chris Benoit (who killed his wife and child before killing himself…) and Brian ‘’Crush'’ Adams, it seems WWE chairman Vince McMahon finally had enough and decided to suspend his stars who continue to use illegal substances, indefinitely.

The WWE, as of press time, refuses to release the names of the wrestlers getting suspended.

However, there are rumors that the likes of Funaki, Shane Helms, Johny Nitro, Edge and probably the most significant one of them all, the half Greek half Filipino former World Heavyweight Champion Batista, are all under investigation and are THIS close from getting suspended.

If you’re a fan of the WWE, it’s a sad day in pro wrestling indeed. Heck, without those guys, you won’t have much of a choice but to like John Cena and those irritating hand signals he does in the ring.

Of course, none of this will happen if Chris Benoit just went to Burger King or something instead of killing his wife and child before…

The 2007 Wimbledon Championships are here, with that said, who’ll be Roger Federer’s bitches?

By: Syndicate

With the annual Wimbledon championships ALWAYS played on grass, we can already say that it’ll be Federer winning the damn thing in the end.

As good as Rafael Nadal is, (he’s that guy who has been giving Roger Federer all sorts of problems on the tennis courts lately…) the guy just can’t be as invincible on grass as he is on clay. And we all saw Nadal’s command of clay courts at the recently held 2007 French Open at Roland Garros.

Now that the tennis world is back on grass with the 2007 Wimbledon championships, Roger Federer should be back annihilating every single guy he sees on the other side of the net, and it shouldn’t matter if it’s a Rafael Nadal.

Roger Federer will start his roger_federer2.jpg2007 Wimbledon campaign on Monday when he meets Teimuraz Gabashvili in the first round. (Jeez… Where do they find these guys? Teimu who?) Teimuraz has never played Federer. Of course, being the No.85th player in the world should have something to do with that.

Andy Roddick, the same guy who just became the ‘’most QUEENEST guy'’ on Earth at the Stella Artois Championships, is seeded No.3 and could face the tennis Swiss sensation…

Jorge Solis screwed into a stupid Manny Pacquiao fight

By: J.J. Jack

Admit it, Jorge Solis is just another fighter handpicked by Freddie Roach and Team Pacquiao.

Yeah yeah, Manny Pacquiao could be one of the top ten hitters in the world of boxing. But c’mon, the guy’s JUST A STUPID BRAWLER. And winning over Erik Morales, a fighter WELL OVER pass his prime, is definitely not something to be proud about. It’s like punching the lights out of a 70-year-old man and you go on and tell your friends about it.

I guess what I’m trying to say here is, Manny Pacquiao doesn’t impress me, NOT ONE BIT. And picking up jobbers like Jorge Solis doesn’t convince me to think otherwise. April 14 is the date when Manny Pacquiao faces off with another jobber, this time it’s Jorge Solis, in a 12-round Super Featherweight match at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Remember Rocky I when Apollo Creed was picking jobbers to show off his ‘’boxing greatness?'’ Well, this is something like that but instead of a great black champion, we have a third world moron picking up people from the streets of Mexico to box with.

Of course, I’m hoping Jorge Solis becomes Pacquiao’s Rocky and shut up this stupid brawler who thinks he’s the best in the world for good.

So what do we know about Jorge Solis? Well, aside from being another fighter picked up by Pacquiao’s people from the streets of Mexico, they say he’s an aggressive boxer-puncher that likes to…

Michael Vaughan wants 2007 Cricket World Cup victory for home land England, just like everybody else

By: Syndicate

Of course, everybody wants to win the 2007 Cricket World Cup for his country.

England, a country known for it’s football, (soccer in North America…) is no different. England Cricket team captain Michael Vaughan wants the 2007 Cricket World Cup title for his mother land and if successful, he said it would be a far greater achievement than the 2005 Ashes victory.

‘’The World Cup is a massive stage with every team playing with all their stars,'’ Michael Vaughan said. ‘’And if we could get to the final and win that, it would be an amazing achievement for this team.'’

Why is the England Cricket captain this desperate to win it all this year? Well, England has never won the Cricket World Cup in eight attempts. Hell, these guys have not even reached the semi-finals since 1992 for crying out loud.

I don’t know why Vaughan thinks the 2007 Cricket World Cup will be different.

‘’The one area we’ve (improved on) in this team is with match-winners. With Andrew Flintoff, Kevin Pietersen and Paul Collingwood, on any given day they can win games on their own,'’ Michael Vaughan said.

‘’In the last World Cup we had maybe two match-winners. I think we’ve got four or five in this team.'’

Of course, that will all depend on how those…

MLB Baseball star Albert Pujols kicked Kurt Angle’s Ass

By: J.J. Jack

Yep, you read it, St. Louis Cardinals icon Albert Pujols taught TNA Wrestling star Kurt Angle a lesson. IN A STEEL CAGE.

As much as I’d want to see Kurt Angle and Albert Pujols in an interesting steel cage wrestling match, seeing Pujols in wrestling tights is definitely not something I’d look forward to.

Albert Pujols did taught Kurt Angle a lesson inside a steel cage, but it wasn’t a wrestling match. St. Louis Cardinals star Albert Pujols and professional wrestler Kurt Angle took turns slugging balls at spring training inside a cage.

kurt_angle.jpgAngle visited Albert Pujols in the Cardinals camp as part of Team Eckstein, named after World Series MVP David Eckstein, a lifelong wrestling fan. Eckstein played the role of manager for a professional wrestling match in Orlando earlier last February. Angle was working to promote a Total Nonstop Action Wrestling pay-per-view event that will be held in St. Louis on April 15.

‘’By the time he retires, he’ll be considered one of the best ever. It was an honor him telling me what to do in there. It would be like me getting him in the ring,'’ Kurt Angle said. ‘’I really admire these guys because of their work ethic and the way they go all year long.'’

For all ya’ll not familiar about…

Trouble in Pakistan as 2007 Cricket World Cup nears

By: J.J. Jack

Yep, it seems Pakistan has been, as John Madden puts it, ‘’stumbling and bumbling all around the twenty'’ lately.

And in case you don’t know squat what I’m talking about, THAT means the Pakistan Cricket national team is having a lot of problems lately heading for the 2007 Cricket World Cup.

First, they lose pace bowlers Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif. Both Pakistan Cricketeers, (can I call them Cricketeers?..) were ruled out of the World Cup because of injuries.

pakistan_cricket.jpgShoaib Akhtar, who has played just one test and four one-dayers since last February due to fitness concerns, has been unable to recover from a knee injury that forced him to be sent back from South Africa last month.

Mohammad Asif, on the other hand, has been carrying a niggling elbow problem since that tour and the pair were receiving treatment in London but neither will be fit enough to participate in the tournament in the Caribbean, which starts on March 13.

‘’Yasir Arafat and Mohammad Sami will be…'’

MLS looking for a head-butt from Zinedine Zidane

By: J.J. Jack

Zinedine Zidane, you remember him, he’s the guy who cost France the 2006 FIFA World Cup title.

Still don’t ring a bell? Try this one, he’s the guy who gave that Italian, Marco Materazzi, a vicious head butt that will make John Cena look like a nine-year-old little girl trying to compete with ‘’real'’ wrestlers.

Wait, Cena already looks the part. Anyway, yeah, Zinedine Zidane made the soccer headlines again and apparently, the French phenom is contemplating on the idea of coming out of retirement to play in the MLS.

zinedine_zidane.jpgMajor League Soccer, after signing former England captain David Beckham a multi-million dollar contract that will see him earn over $10 million a year playing for the Los Angeles Galaxy, is now eying ‘’the Z'’ Zinedine Zidane himself, to play in their league.

Considering all the negativity in some quarters over the $10 million or so annual salary that David Beckham will be receiving to suit up for the L.A. Galaxy this summer, one can only imagine that those same pessimists are having a field day with the rumors that legendary (and retired) soccer star Zinedine Zidane of France is contemplating renewing his career in MLS.

That is if interested teams can…

The Duke Blue Devils lacrosse team returned with a loving student body to start the season

By: Syndicate

Oh wait… THAT was not the case when a Duke lacrosse team started their season.

When the Duke Blue Devils opened their 2006 lacrosse season against Butler, only 425 people came out to support the team. When they went up against Dartmouth, fans were lining up to enter Koskinen Stadium. Go figure.

Yep, a lot of people sure wanted to see the Duke lacrosse team that game alright. And mind you, that was still more than two hours before Duke and Dartmouth took the field. When the gates opened, the 425 people Duke got for the 2006 season opener easily became 6,485. Just a few hundred short of Duke’s home record.

duke_lacrosse.jpgWhat happened? Why the interest for this team all of a sudden? Oh yeah, these guys were banned for 10 months before making their debut this season. Figures. The buzz surrounding the game was closer to a North Carolina-Duke basketball rivalry game than a season opener for the sixth-ranked Blue Devils, who easily dismissed unranked Dartmouth, 17-11.

Duke lacrosse head coach John Danowski, in his first game on the Blue Devils sideline, was not the only one making a debut appearance during that game. For the first time at a Duke lacrosse game, the pep band was there to entertain the crowd.

The Duke bookstore was…
