WBA and WBO lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez faces the biggest and toughest fight of his career when he faces Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Yep, beating a guy like Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a tall order indeed since the guy, technically, is still the best pound for pound fighter in the world since nobody has beaten him yet. STILL, Juan Manuel Marquez is confident he will beat the undefeated pound-for-pound champion when it's time to lace up the gloves.

Marquez has maintained that he is planning to upset the boxing world when he steps into the ring with 'Money' Mayweather, that's despite the fact that he is clearly disadvantaged in the upcoming bout as Mayweather stands two inches taller with a five-inch reach advantage.

The fight is also scheduled to be fought at a catch-weight of 143 pounds, a comfortable weight for Mayweather, but less so for Marquez who is a natural super-featherweight (130 pound maximum) and has only had two fights at lightweight (135 pound maximum).

Mayweather, the former five-division champ, hasn't stepped into the ring since knocking out Ricky Hatton in December 2007, when he was still basking in his victory over Oscar De La Hoya. Since then, he has been cashing in on his ''Money'' moniker, showing up everywhere from ''Dancing with the Stars'' to WrestleMania.

In case you didn't get that, Venus and Serena Williams will once again play for a grand slam tennis title as the Williams sisters meet in the 2009 Wimbledon Championships final this Saturday.

Yes, the Orlando Magic will have Vince Carter playing for them once the 2009 NBA basketball season gets here. The addition of VC has enabled the Magic to surround their prized All-Star Dwight Howard with three other All-Stars each capable of helping a team win championships, Rashard Lewis, Jameer Nelson and VC.

If the Orlando Magic can manage to keep Hedo Turkoglu by the time the new season starts, they'll end up with a monster starting five of All-Stars with the acquisition of Vince Carter, but at this point, it seems Turkoglu is leaning towards greener pastures.

Yep, you read it, because there are rumors that claim that this latest injury hitting the seven-foot Chinese giant coming to the 2009 NBA basketball season is so severe that they're calling it career-threatening.

Apparently, Yao Ming hasn't fully recovered yet from the broken foot he suffered from during the NBA playoffs. And while the brand new season is still a few months away, Yao's recovery is so behind schedule that they are already ruling the big guy out for the entire season, or worse, his NBA career.

''At this point, the injury has the potential for him missing this next season and could be career threatening,'' team physician Tom Clanton said.

''One of the things we are trying to get is a consensus opinion on that, to make certain there is no option we are overlooking that would provide an earlier return or would be an option for treatment that he would prefer rather than doing additional surgery.''

Yao Ming suffered a hairline fracture of the tarsal navicular bone of his left foot when his Houston Rockets were playing the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the NBA playoffs. The team initially ruled Yao to be out for eight to 12 weeks but they found out that he could be missing a lot more time after a bone scan revealed that the fracture is not healing properly.
