· Even though both teams feature ground-oriented offenses, the total is still set at 47 1/2. Last six totals between the two teams? 62, 58, 72, 47, 55 and 68 - 71 in overtime. Keep that in mind before you jump on the under. [Covers]
· The Kansas City Chiefs have advantages in every major category except one. [Covers]
· These games are always unpredictable. Mile High air chucks a lot of logic go out the window. The Chiefs as three point underdogs seems like a simple bet, but do not underestimate the lunacy in Denver. [Yahoo Sports]
· A different look from the Chiefs could have Denver on its heels. The impact of Larry Johnson should not be underestimated. [SportsNetwork]
· The Chiefs defense. They have one, finally. And that doesn’t bode well for Jake Plummer and a banged up running game. [Asbury Park Press]

Best Line: Denver -1
The Colts pick the good time of year to head out to Mile High Stadium and challenge a strong Denver squad at their place. The Peyton Manning-led offensive machine that scored a franchise-record 522 points last season has scored just two touchdowns and turned the ball over three times in the first nine possessions of the preseason. It’s only a matter of time before the kinks are worked out and you can bet that the first team will get its share of reps. The defense is still inexplicably soft under Coach Dungy and you can be sure that they’ll be exposed every time the offense doesn’t put up its usual 30+ points. Ask Tom Brady.
Quietly, Coach Shanahan has assembled a load of talent up in the Rockies. So good, in fact, that you might almost believe that Jake Plummer is a legitimate Pro Bowler. Still king of the 20-interception season, he set or tied several Bronco records last year, including passing yardage and TD’s. Impressive when you consider most of these records were held by John Elway. The running back and wide reciever depth is enough to make any coach jealous and the O-line could make a 1,000-yard rusher out of anyone with two legs. The defense is strong and deep with veterans clogging up most of the depth chart.
Expect more of the usual from Indianapolis. Lots of points, but a defense that stops them from joining the elite. Denver’s depth should prove too much for the offense-heavy Colts in this one, but the real question is how good this Broncos team can be. Probably as good as Jake Plummer. If he can eliminate the turnovers, it could be a special year in Denver. Unfortunately, on the list of QB’s to bet your season on, The Snake is no Elway.
