Well, not surprisingly, there’s been plenty of stories about him this morning. Most of these should make you feel better about taking Tereshinski and the four points.

· Ignore conventional wisdom, says Eye On Gambling, who assures us that the fact that Tereshinski is starting will not impact the Bulldogs that much. [EyeOnGambling]
· Joe Tereshisnki is typical of the Bulldog’s gritty, gutsy season. [USA Today]

· The Tereshinski Dawg lineage runs long and deep. [Dawg Post]
· Atlanta Journal Constitution columnists has no faith in the Tereshinski however, calling him the “Ringo” of the Bulldogs quarterbacks. [AJC]

NCAA Betting: Cocktail Flameout?

205963.jpegSo many subplots going into this weekend’s Florida Gators/Georgia Bulldogs match-up: SEC legitimacy, Georgia’s quest for respect, and how much student body vomit will paint the parking lots at ALLTEL Stadium in Jacksonville. But the most pressing is whether Georgia’s junior starting quarterback Joe Tereshinski who takes over for the mangled D.J. Shockley, can run the offense—or drive it into the ground. Right now, without their starting QB, the Bulldogs are 4 point underdogs. In this week’s Pinnacle Pulse column, Simon Noble discusses the line movement on this game:

“Georgia’s starting QB DJ Shockley is expected to miss the game due to a sprained knee and Joe Tereshinski will be making his first collegiate start. He will be leading a Bulldogs offense which relies heavily on the pass - rushing accounts for only 40% of Georgia’s offense. Additionally, the Gators have had the benefit of a bye week.

This was a difficult line to set - if Shockley was healthy and Florida had no bye week, we would probably have opened the game around a Pick’em. As it is, we initially opened at +5.5 and were flooded with early sharp bettors taking the dog. We started to see some buyback on Florida at -4.5 and the line has since stabilized at +4.”

Eesh. Four points with a back-up quarterback in a rivalry game seems a bit shaky. However, there is a nice ring to the whole “Legend of Joe Tereshinski”, no? We’ll decide later where we’re leaning.

Chopping Lines: Have You Ever Seen a Gator Rolled?

(16)Alabama Crimson Tide (4-0)

Best Line: FLA -3.5, ALA +4

Urban Meyer’s quest for a national title has to roll through Tuscaloosa—with its raucous fans, ghost of Bear Bryant, Brodie Croyle, and, of course, Motley Crue. Florida’s victory over Tennessee really showed us nothing so far and coming into this environment with an Alabama team more riled up in almost a decade it’ll be tough for quarterback Chris Leak to get the offense rolling (again)against the Tide defense. The reality is that the Tide wants this game much more than the Gators right now. Their hungry, starved…rabid for some SEC legitimacy and a victory on Saturday seems almost inevitable. Points and the moneyline are both great options.

PICK!: ALA +4
