Kansas City Chiefs (3-2)

at

Miami Dolphins (2-3)

Best Line: MIA -1, KC +2

Is Miami’s home advantage that big that they’re favored in this game? It would seem that way. Even though the Chiefs haven’t exactly been the complete package on both sides of the ball as previously advertised, it still seems like the line should be reversed. However, we we took the Chiefs as three point dogs to the Broncos on that Monday night at Denver and paid severely for it. And tonight’s game has a similar look to it. We’re playing total line read into this one and taking the Dolphins as favorites. All this hurricane hoopla has to account for something and it honestly looks as if Saban’s team might be a little more prepared than the Chiefs.

PICK!: MIA -1

Washington Redskins (3-1)

at

Kansas City Chiefs (2-2)

Best Line: KC -5.5, WAS +6

The Washington Redskins have overachieved all year in the eyes of many football experts and everybody’s just waiting for Mark Brunell’s arm to come off or Dan Snyder to start lurking too close to Joe Gibbs. Last week we saw that if the Redskins are given enough points—even at Denver—they’ll cover. Yet, we think the first squeaky wheel comes off this week at Kansas City. Arrowhead is no picnic to play in either and as good as the Washington defense has been, we do think a Priest Holmes/Larry Johnson pounding will be enough to end the Redskin’s dream of a playoff year.

PICK!: KC -5.5

NFL Betting: McNabb’s Groin Moving the Line?

READ MORE: Donovan McNabb, Kansas City Chiefs, NFL Betting, Philadelphia Eagles

McNabb.jpgOh, these Philadelphia Eagles. Sigh. What tumult will befall us now? The latest is a the “sports hernia” industry taking hold of quarterback Donovan McNabb’s, er, abdomen that will require surgery at some point—but he is cleared to play as long as he can deal with the pain. Alas, what kind of outcome will this have on the Eagles the rest of the betting season? Will a pain-stricken McNabb keep the bettors away and hinder lines? Or will this end up being a catalyst for the rest of the Eagles season that catapults them to a Superbowl victory? Only the rest of the season will tell. But, bettors must remember McNabb’s four touchdown performance against the Arizona Cardinals three years ago as exhibit A. Dude had a broken ankle. That has to hurt worse than a silly “sports hernia”, or whatever this is. We think. This weekend the Eagles are 2 point favorites against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Eagles also suuuuck against AFC teams ATS, so keep that in mind.

· These games are always unpredictable. Mile High air chucks a lot of logic go out the window. The Chiefs as three point underdogs seems like a simple bet, but do not underestimate the lunacy in Denver. [Yahoo Sports]

· A different look from the Chiefs could have Denver on its heels. The impact of Larry Johnson should not be underestimated. [SportsNetwork]

· The Chiefs defense. They have one, finally. And that doesn’t bode well for Jake Plummer and a banged up running game. [Asbury Park Press]
