It’s never too early to think about this weekend’s college football games, and the Michigan State - Notre Dame game really caught our eye. The Spartans have owned the Irish in recent years, but oddsmakers have still given Notre Dame the benefit of a full touchdown. How lopsided has this rivalry been?

The Spartans have contributed to their misery by beating the Irish in six of the last eight games between the schools, including five in a row from 1997-2001 and the last four in Notre Dame Stadium.

On one side you have history, and it’s always hard to bet against a team with a quarterback like Drew Stanton. On the other hand, the Irish have looked really, really good - unless the Michigan game was an aberration or the Wolverines prove to be frauds. Still, we’re thinking we should jump all over those seven and put our money on the Irish to cover.
