Welcome to Happy Valley, population a gazillion. And the JoePa zealots have finally had something to cheer about of late after a few yawn-inducing years. Not this week, though. Penn State’s been lauded for its defense, but with a few dings here and there, last week’s win over Northwestern showed them to be very vulnerable to the ground game. The Gophers, on the other hand, completely pancaked the crap out of Purdue last week with its running attack thanks to Gopher Tank Laurence Maroney. The Gophs are averaging 335 yards per game on the ground. That’s 3-3-5. Penn State isn’t stopping that attack with 14 men on the field.
