NFL Props: Battle of the Defeated/Undefeated

It’s amazing that after Monday night’s overrated bashing of the St. Louis Rams(Seriously: Bulger doesn’t get hurt, that’s a different story) that handicappers decided to shorten the odds on the Indianapolis Colts going undefeated this season. But they did. The Colts, once 10/1 to finsh the season 16-0 are now 7/1. Everybody loves Dwight Freeney. Conversely, the hollowed out shell of a team that is the Houston Texans are now getting 12/1 odds ot remain winless throughout the season. Obviously, the odds for these two teams not succeeding are pretty expensive over at Pinnacle which is giving 1/7 for the Colts and 1/9 odds on the Texans.

Mike Tice’s days are numbered. The pencil-toting behemoth is now a 5/8 favorite to be the first coach shit-canned this season after another horrifying loss this past weekend to the Cincinnati Bengals. Sportsbook.com released new odds on the coaches and, suprisingly, it appeares that Jim “Hurricane” Haslett’s job is remarkably safe at 15/1 even though he was a 5/1 favorite at the beginning of the year to get axed. Second favorite is Houston Texans’ coach Dom Capers at 5/2. Another sign that Tice will be the first to go—owner Zygi Wilf’s assurances that Tice’s job “is safe.” Oof.
