Online Poker: No One Likes A Whiner
READ MORE: Poker
Think you’ve been running bad at the tables lately? What sort of losing streak do you think it takes to get a TV reporter to complain about his experiences playing poker online? Wonder no longer, WOAI San Antonio’s Dale Blasingame throws PartyPoker in the dust behind the Alamo, unzips, and showers it with the golden, um, words it deserves. His four reasons for hating online poker? It’s boring, it’s too slow, he doesn’t trust it, and it’s addictive. Quoting Dale:
2.) It’s too slow.
I’ve written two paragraphs in the past ten minutes. That’s about a paragraph for each hand that has been played in the game I’m in right now. Nothing is more frustrating than sitting there, watching that person’s icon just blink…and blink…and blink. Not too (sic) mention server issues, etc. etc. etc. Drives me up the wall. It’s weird. I don’t mind sitting there for ten minutes while someone goes into the tank in a live game. But if someone takes more than 30 seconds online, I’m throwing something against the wall.
With a style like that, why is this guy on TV and not writing for The New Yorker? You can complain about a lot of things in regards to online poker, but we’re calling “shenanigans” on this one. If there’s one thing online poker is absolutely not, it’s slow. Still, one less guy with disposable income swimming in our waters breaks our heart just a little bit. Come on back Dale, we promise we’ll click faster this time.
