Sports Illustrated’s Brian Cazeneuve wrestles his hard-earned tourney trophy away from Aces & Kings co-author Michael Kaplan.
Last night, Oddjack stole Gawker Team Party Crash photo dog Eliot Shepard and dragged him to New York City’s posh Soho House for a book release party for the new poker tome Aces & Kings. There was free booze, a $5,000 Hold ‘Em tourney, profesional hockey players, and a woman in an enormous hat, all sponsored by ubiquitous online gambling folks at PartyPoker.net. After the jump, find out who raised, folded, and who got lucky at the soiree.
Although they were playing for real money, the Party Poker chips were actually made of dark chocolate.
MediaBistro founder Laurel Touby left Rip Taylor’s boa at home, but did bring his glasses.
This woman is not fooling anybody—she has five aces in her hat. She also has four kittens, a gin martini, and a small child in there as well.
This dude’s a true gritty urbanite. He loves smoky cardrooms. Scotch. Charles Bukowski. And blue J.Crew button-downed shirts and mod eyewear.
PartyPoker loves to have everybody at their tables. Even this woman with fucked up looking creature hands.
Aces & Kings co-author Michael Kaplan celebrates the end of the evening by ripping this woman’s arm out of her socket
NY Islander Dave Skatchard will kill you without even thinking about it.
Aces & Kings co-author Brad Reagan will not.
Although he may be getting beat on this hand, this man is sure thankful he brought along the portable catheter.
