NFL Props: Head Rolling Fun

READ MORE: Mike Tice, NFL Betting, Norv Turner, Props

101104turner180.jpgWhen isn’t Oakland Raiders’ head coach Norv Turner’s job in jeopardy? That guy could be completely out of footbal and working at a hardware store in Des Moines, but he would still inevitably get a call from some league’s GM at the season to get fired. The prop bets going into this season for first NFL Coach to be fired or resign are all over the place with the Oakland Raiders’ Norv Turner, the favorite to be axed first. However, the SharpJuice likes the pencil-mawing giant Mike Tice, head coach of the Minnesota Vikings as the first to go at 12/1. Obviously, he’s not a believer in Mwelde Moore.

NBA Betting: Which Old Guy in Glasses Will Win More Games?

READ MORE: Larry Brown, NBA Betting, Phil Jackson, Props

JACKSONBROWN.jpgAfter Larry Brown signed on as coach of the dreadful New York Knicks last week, the kooky sharps over at WagerWeb decided it would be a fun prop bet to see who would win more games between Brown and another high-profile coach returning to the league this year, Phil Jackson of the Los Angeles Lakers. Both coaches are 5:6 odds head-to-head to win more games.

Now, it would seem that Jackson has a distinct advantage even though these aren’t anywhere close to the Los Angeles Lakers he left behind in 2004. However, Larry Brown likes to make trades and could possibly revamp that whole entire limp-dick Knick roster before the All-Star break, giving the Knicks some wiggle room to possibly win a little more than 40 games.

NFL Betting: The Least Fun Thing to Do in New Orleans is Watch Football

READ MORE: Futures, Jim Haslett, NFL Betting, New Orleans Saints, Props

HASLETT.jpgThe New Orleans Saints are once again destined for mediocrity sprinkled with moments of greatness in 2005. Although loaded with offensive talent, the Saints suspect defense and inconsistency make them once again a team not likely to make the playoffs or win more than 8 games. The win total for the Saints this year is 7.5 and they have 55-1 odds to win the Super Bowl this year, however, Covers Stephen Noyer says both those lines are ones that should be completely ignored by bettors this year. Instead, they should focus on the fate of Saints head coach Jim Haslett. Haslett is listed by Canbet as 5-1 to be the first NFC coach fired, which may be a blessing for the beleaguered former defensive coordinator. Dude looks like he just needs to get away from this horrible franchise and start over.

NFL Prop: Kerry Collins Is the Next Jim Harbaugh

READ MORE: Kerry Collins, NFL, Oakland Raiders, Peyton Manning, Props

KERRYCOLLINS.jpgSo, the anticipation of the Oakland Raiders pass-crazy offense has officially put wayward quarterback and former drunken bigot Kerry Collins as the second favorite behind the Indianapolis Colts’ quarterback Peyton Manning to win the passing title this year. Manning is the favorite at 4/1, but the addition of Randy Moss to an already stocked receiving corps has put Collins at 6/1 to win the award according to MyBookie. It’s a nice idea and we’re as excited about the potential for a 40,000 yard season in Oakland, but are we forgetting that this is still Kerry Collins?

MLB MVP Betting: Beware of Fading Frontrunners

READ MORE: MVP, Props, Sports Betting: MLB

Will Chicago Cubs’ first baseman Derek Lee every stop hitting everything that’s thrown at him? Can Baltimore Orioles’ shortstop Miguel Tejada win an MVP awared if they continue to fade from contention? And why the hell is the New York Yankees’ Randy Johnson even put on the list for potential Cy Young award winners? And why can’t McDonald’s serve breakfast until noon?

These are the questions one can ask after Sportsbook released its odds on Major League Baseball’s awards at the end of the season. Lee leads the the National League MVP race as a 5-7 favorite, while the New York Yankees’ Alex “Flossing is Cool” Rodriguez is the front runner in the AL race at 5-2. For the Cy Young awards, the New York Mets’ erstwhile greasepot Pedro Martinez is the favorite in the NL at 2-1, while the Chicago White Sox’ friendly giant Jon Garland leads the AL race at 5-2.
