At Oddjack, we get no joy from golf betting. Our pre-tourney analysis involves a Ouija board and deciphering chewing tobacco spit patterns. So we’re working on a whole new angle for this weekend’s British Open – the more handsome the player, the more likely we’ll lay money on him. Tiger Woods (11/5 at BoDog) hits the links as a favorite – he’s so damn handsome, we just can’t resist! Sergio Garcia tees-off at 15/1 at BoDog. We’d take him more seriously if he didn’t look like a Spanish garden gnome. Mike Weir’s (100/1 at Ladbrokes) receding hairline reminds us too much of looking in the bathroom mirror in the morning, but Ernie Els (10/1 at William Hill) pleases the eye, despite his nearly transparent Caucasian skin. Mysteriously, Colin Montgomery (100/1 at EuroBet) gets less love than Phil Mickelson (14/1 at Intertops), even though their man-boobies wouldn’t get them past the first audition as Hugo Boss models. Meanwhile, Phil “The Power” Taylor sits back, coiled like a fat snake – maybe he’s earned a field bet at 17/4 (BoDog).
