World Series Betting: The Roof Factor
READ MORE: Minute Maid Park, Retractable Roof, World Series Betting
If it’s not the umpires giving the White Sox the advantage, it’s Major League Baseball. Last night’s whole Minute Maid Park “roof” controversy started early and effectively screwed a lot of bettors out of their grandmother’s birthday money last night. Why weren’t those roof numbers made available before hand? Why? Well, no more, according to the betting hound dog at Tony Slater’s Betting:
K, we did make fun of the whole Houston retractable roof excuse, but look at this according to SI here:
“During regular-season home games, Houston was 36-17 with the roof closed and 15-11 when it was open.”Now, as we’ve said before, the Chicago White Sox may have a talent advantage anyway, so if the roof negates the home field advantage, maybe it’s important.
Unfortunately, for the Astros
…”officials said it would likely be open for the rest of the games in Houston.”
Well, in that case, maybe the sweep is likely after all
Yeah, it was the roof. Or it was the umpires. Or it’s that thing growing on the side of Ezequiel Astacio’s face. The spread on winning percentage with the roof open or closed is not that huge. Sorry. Let’s just all admit that the that the White Sox are just a better team. Retractable roof. Sheesh.
