Donovan McNabb will have a fresh start.
No doubt about that as he will be with a new team at the start of the 2010 NFL football season. In case you didn’t know, he was traded to Washington, where he h
as been a welcomed addition. It now begs the question: Are the Eagles better off without him? Are the Redskins better with him? The answer could be yes to both.
You see, Donovan McNabb went to six Pro Bowls and led the Eagles to eight play-off appearances, five NFC championship games and one Super Bowl in 11 seasons. But he did not win the big one, and the organization decided to move on with Kevin Kolb at quarterback.
Though Kolb has started just two games in three seasons, he
has received high praise from his coaches, teammates and analysts. He is considered a born leader who is well suited to run Philadelphia’s offense.
While McNabb was the starter in Philadelphia, the Washington Redskins had a revolving door at quarterback. They used 10 different starters in 11 years and only one made a Pro Bowl – Brad Johnson in 1999. Washington won only two playoff games during that time.
So, McNabb brings stability and a strong pedigree to a critical position. “I think it’s more psychological for the team, because everybody knows what he’s done,” Mike Sellers, the Washington full-back, said.
McNabb’s success in Philadelphia is tarnished somewhat by…

For the first time ever, the Pro Bowl will come a week before THE big game, as this year’s Pro Bowl kicks off Super Bowl week with a bang.
Yes, the 2010 NFL Pro Bowl will now come before the Super Bowl and this year, the best players from both the AFC and the NFC will play at Dolphin Stadium in Miami, Florida for this year’s annual showcase of the league’s premiere talent.
This way, football fans will be able to further build their anticipation heading to Super Bowl XLIV and as far as this year’s Pro Bowl starters are concerned, both teams’ rosters have some familiar faces.
Leading the pack for the AFC squad is Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning. Other selections include Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson, Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson and Colts teammate Reggie Wayne.
Dallas Clark, who also plays for the Indianapolis Colts, was also voted in for the Pro Bowl to play tight end, starting tackles will be the Dolphins’ Jake Long and the Broncos’ Ryan Clady. Starting guards for the AFC will be the Patriots’ Logan Mankins and Alan Faneca of the New York Jets.
Faneca’s teammate Nick Mangold will be the AFC’s starting center…

And that’s not just because England fans cheer for the Patriots for having ‘England’ on their team’s name.
Yes, it’s silly really. But fans from England will now keep on cheering for them Patriots after the way they just dominated the field at Wembley Stadium. It was the first game overseas this 2009 NFL football season and this time, it was the Buccaneers bending over for the Patriots en route to the 35-7 ass whooping.
The New England Patriots were winless on the road coming into this one, losing their last two games away from home. But thanks to the American football fans at Wembley Stadium, New England finally got its first win on the road in England, beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in emphatic fashion.
The way English fans have been behind the Patriots that afternoon made the Buccaneers feel lost. And boy, were they lost indeed as they were yet to hit the scoreboard after almost two quarters. The Patriots were already ahead of the Bucs 21-0 before Josh Johnson connected with Antonio Bryant to score Tampa Bay’s first score of the game. But it was clear the Patriots had all the momentum, and with the crowd at Wembley Stadium behind them, the Bucs didn’t even had a chance.
It was evident in the second half when the New England Patriots scored…

And that my friends is a new NFL record.
Any questions about Brady on whether he can be the same playmaker he once was this 2009 NFL football season after coming back from his injury last year have been answered with a resounding yes following the way he humiliated the Titans last Sunday.
For those of you who missed it, Tom Brady had arguably the best game of his career, setting a new NFL record after scoring 5 touchdowns, all in the second quarter of their 59-0 annihilation of the struggling Tennessee Titans.
The passing game was working for the New England Patriots early as Tom Brady took advantage of a Titans secondary that was missing two of its starting corners. Brady scored two touchdowns with Randy Moss, scored another with running back Kevin Faulk and then scored two more with Wes Welker to put his Patriots ahead 45-0 before halftime.
It sure has been one long Sunday afternoon for the team with the best record in the NFL last…

There sure have been a couple of HUGE surprises last week.
Admit it, the way Tim Tebow and Sam Bradford came back to the field last weekend caught most of you off guard. Hopefully, they didn’t make you lose that much dough. Coming to Week 7 of the 2009 NCAA college football season, we’ll get you ready and hyped up for this weekend’s games so you won’t make the same mistakes twice.
Coming from their first win over a Football Bowl Subdivision team in nearly a year, the Louisville Cardinals gun for back to back victories over another when they play the Connecticut Huskies Saturday night.
Ryan Payne kicked a 32-yard field goal with 30 seconds left to play to give Louisville its first FBS win, 25-23, over Southern Mississippi. Wide receiver Scott Long had a career day for the Cardinals, with 146 yards receiving on five catches, plus a touchdown.
The Connecticut Huskies, meanwhile, look to bounce back from a disheartening loss they suffered against Pittsburgh. Connecticut (3-2, 0-1 in Big East) led 21-6 after Andre Dixon scored on a 2-yard run to end a 61-yard drive with 3:56 remaining in the third quarter. But Pitt quarterback Bill Stull, who made several major mistakes in the first half, found Jonathan Baldwin on a 26-yard scoring pass play set up by Dion Lewis’ 32-yard run to cut it to 21-13 before eventually stealing the game from…

The Road to Super Bowl XLIV Begins
The 2009-10 NFL Football Season is here,
marking the fiftieth season of the Original Eight charter members of the American Football League, whose owners became collectively known as “The Foolish Club.” The fifth league to use the AFL moniker (previous leagues in 1926, 1934, 1936-37, and 1940-41, all [...]

Merry Christmas people!
By now, I’m already off to a much needed vacation. (More specifically, playing Madden all day long without anyone bothering me…) But before I leave ya’ll here, I’m going to give ya’ll my very last weekly preview of the 2008-09 NFL football season. It’s already Week 17 people. Boy, time sure flies huh? And after 16 weeks, we learned that the Lions are only a loss away from becoming the most fucked up team in years, Tom Brady continues to lose his job to Matt Cassel and the Cowboys desperately need to win this Sunday to make the playoffs.
Yes, the Dallas Cowboys, after losing to Baltimore, 33-24, need to beat the Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday to give themselves a shot of making the playoffs. And since Philly can only put up three points in their game against Washington last
Sunday, this is probably the perfect opportunity for the Cowboys to steal one in Philly.
Dallas Cowboys by 3.
The Atlanta Falcons, with a playoff berth already secured, will probably just look for some momentum heading for the postseason when they face the struggling the St. Louis Rams, who have now lost nine in a row. The Rams won’t have anything to gain on this game and they’d probably just rest some of their starters to give those guys a chance to rest up and…

Since week 15 in the NFL is the only football action we’ll see all weekend, we’re hoping the games we have this week will be good ones.
And since it’s basically now a footrace for the playoffs with only three weeks remaining into the 2008-09 NFL football season, these remaining few games should be very VERY competitive, to say the least, for teams still competing for playoff positions. And after 14 weeks into the season, we learned that the Lions still can’t win shit, the Packers are probably missing Favre by now and the Bills are back doing what they do best… LOSING.
And just like the last five weeks, NFL action starts this Thursday night with a game between the New Orleans Saints and the Chicago Bears. The Saints are looking to avoid another crushing road loss to the Bears when these two postseason-hopeful teams meet on the NFL Network. However, as good as
both teams have been last Sunday, the Bears still have the better shot at a postseason berth since they only trail first-place Minnesota by one game in the NFC North. The New Orleans Saints are three games behind NFC South-leading Carolina, so their best chance is most likely a wild card. Winning a game against the Bears at Soldier Field should be tough considering the fact that these Bears already beat them on the same surface.
Chicago Bears by three.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Atlanta Falcons both took a step backwards in…

A return fitting for a superstar.
You read it, after missing the last three games of the 2008-09 NFL football season, Tony Romo will be making his return to the Cowboys lineup, taking over for veteran Brad Johnson who has only been able to lead the team to a 1-2 stand that dropped them dead least in the NFC East.
And since Tony Romo is one of the league’s brightest young superstars, he probably felt that it was only right for him to make his return on primetime, Sunday Night Football, when they resume one of the better rivalries in football with the Washington Redskins.
Talk about being a fan for the dramatic huh?
The question now is, will Romo be able to lead the Dallas Cowboys to a win over one of the hottest teams in the league today.
At 6-3, the Washington Redskins have really put it together since handing this Dallas team its first loss of the season back in Week 4. They are right behind the defending Super Bowl champions Giants for the NFC East lead and as long as that West Coast offense continues to work, the sky’s the limit for this team from the nation’s capital.
For what it’s worth, Romo is confident that his broken pinkie won’t be an issue for this huge Sunday Night Football game. ”It’s getting better,” Tony Romo said. ”Every day it gets a little better and I’m confident that I’ll feel pretty good for the…”

He’s running his mouth about them Cowboys too.
After all the hype that has surrounded the Cowboys before the start of the 2008-09 NFL football season, America’s team has lost two of their last three games and are sitting at the very bottom of the NFC East.
That probably has something to do with the absence of franchise quarterback Tony Romo, who sat out the team’s last three games with a broken pinkie. Veteran Brad Johnson tried to fill in but only managed to give the Cowboys a single win in the three games that he started behind center.
Was Romo’s injury the reason why the Dallas Cowboys have been
losing lately? From a casual fan’s standpoint, that’s probably stating the obvious. But as far as T.O. is concerned, the Cowboys’ troubles didn’t start with a broken pinkie on a hotshot quarterback.
And while Terrell Owens probably still continues to complain about the limited touches he’s been having on the field, the controversial wideout said that their team’s troubles didn’t start with Romo’s injury but as early as the first month of the season, when the Washington Redskins handed them their very first loss. They went on to lose three of their next four games afterwards.
”I think the loss to Washington made a lot of people…”
