Philadelphia Eagles V New York Giants this Sunday

Sunday, January 11th, 2009

This is probably the biggest playoff game of the weekend.

One, because this Eagles – Giants faceoff in the 2009 NFC divisional playoffs will feature two teams from the NFC East, arguably the best division in pro sports. Two, because whichever team comes out of this one will probably go on and win the Super Bowl.

Yup, the 2009 NFL playoffs continue this Sunday at Giants Stadium where the Philadelphia Eagles visit the New York Giants for what should be one heckuva’ playoff game.

This is the first playoff game for the New York Giants since denying the New England Patriots of Eli Manningthe Super Bowl last year. They start their playoff campaign with a divisional-round game against the red-hot Philadelphia Eagles who, despite being the last seed in the conference, should pose a formidable challenge to anyone who stands across them in the postseason.

The New York Giants (12-4) stumbled somewhat at the end of the season, dropping three of their last four, although they managed to clinch the top seed in the NFC with an overtime win over Carolina on Dec.21. That earned a much-needed first-round bye for the Giants, who opened the season 11-1 and weathered a brutal schedule while playing 13 straight games after their bye week…

The New York Giants are in Control of the NFC

Saturday, November 15th, 2008

Yes, after last Sunday night’s win over the Eagles, you should be aware of that by now.

After ten weeks into the 2008-09 NFL football season, the New York Giants are running away from the competition with a remarkable 8-1 record. The 9-0 Titans are the only team better at this point but since the Titans are not playing within the NFC East, arguably the best division not only in pro football but professional sports, I would have to attest that the Giants are the team to beat.

The New York Giants showed just how dominant they can be last Sunday night when they went up against their NFC East rivals, Philadelphia Eagles. And although the final score of 36-31 was too close for comfort, the Giants were still the more dominant team since the 31 points the Eagles put up was more of the Giants’ doing than the birds.’

Brandon JacobsThe Giants let the Philadelphia Eagles score the first touchdown of the game, thanks to an early turnover New York committed. The Giants then scored the next 17 points to stay ahead of the Eagles after the first quarter.

New York then let the Eagles find their way back into the game, thanks to a fumble committed by Brandon Jacobs before finally shutting the door closed on Philadelphia in the final stages of the contest.

If it wasn’t for New York’s costly turnovers, they could’ve won this one handily. But since they were playing an NFC East rival, and…

Can the New York Giants win the Super Bowl Again?

Friday, August 15th, 2008

A re-peat. These things are hard to come by in the NFL these days.

The 2008-09 NFL football season is almost here and the New York Giants will start the season as defending world champions. Crazy huh? Who would’ve thought we’d be able to say that about them Giants?

As the new regular season kicks off, the team to watch this year is of course the defending Super Bowl champions the New York Giants. Despite winning it all last season, many people still doubt the talent in this team. Can these guys shock those people all over again?

New York GIantsMany experts did not give credit for the Giants’ playoff run last season since they were not a championship-caliber team. Hell, when they had their somewhat slow start during that season, many people counted them out of even making the playoffs. Was their win over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII a fluke?

Fluke or not, the Giants won the Super Bowl and will have the opportunity for a re-peat in the coming season when they begin their road for Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa, Florida.

Eli Manning is now the leader of this team together with wide receiver Plaxico Burress. Giants fans expect…

Betting on New York Giants at Super Bowl XLII? Here are some props the New England Patriots can review…

Sunday, February 3rd, 2008

Because you never know when the Pats will let, say Brandon Jacobs go over 100 yards to win a bet before they beat New York anyway.

Yes, the Patriots can probably do that with them being THAT good. Hell, they earned them Super Bowl XLII tickets by beating every single team that crossed them. It wouldn’t hurt if they win a couple of bets here and there before winning the big football game this Sunday right?

I know what ya’ll are probably thinking? How can I question a team like the New England Patriots of their integrity? Well, in case you have forgotten already, they were spying on the New York Jets coaches to win their first game of the season. In case you didn’t get that, yes, the Patriots are no angels.

STILL, I’m still expecting these guys to lay the smackdown on the New York Giants to win Super Bowl XLII this Sunday. But if you are betting on New York, these propositions before the big game will keep you busy first.

Let’s start with New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning. There are odds on how many passing yards will Eli have against the Patriots defense this Sunday. In his first two playoff games, Eli didn’t go over the 200-yard mark in passing. He got 185 passing yards in 20 of 27 attempts against Tampa Bay before going 163 in 12 of 18 passing against Dallas.

But against the Green Bay Packers in the NFC championship game…

Tom Brady to win Super Bowl XLII for the Patriots?

Friday, February 1st, 2008

19-0, that’s what Tom Brady will be going for this Sunday.

Yes, we are only DAYS away from the biggest spectacle in all of football. Hold on to your Super Bowl XLII tickets folks because the biggest prize in all of sports is going to be played for again.

And this year, (and I just know ya’ll realize this by now…) the New England Patriots and the New York Giants will be getting it on in Glendale, Arizona for Super Bowl XLII to become the new world champions of the gridiron.

Tom BradyThe New England Patriots are looking to become the first team in NFL history to go 19-0 and win the Super Bowl. They have already matched the 16-0 mark set by the 1972 Miami Dolphins but without the Super Bowl XLII title on Sunday, all those records they set this season don’t mean squat.

The New York Giants on the other hand, are rolling after playing these Patriots for their last regular season game before the playoffs. Isn’t it ironic that it’s this Patriots team that…
