It looks like the Jets have once again signed a big name superstar who’s trying to prove something coming to the new season.
Yes, LaDainian Tomlinson will be playing for the New York Jets in the 2010 NFL football season. L.T. will be the Jets’ latest high profile superstar, joining the likes of Brett Favre, Bart Scott, Braylon Edwards and Antonio Cromartie who the Jets have signed the last few years, all were looking then to salvage what’s left of their playing days in the Big Apple.
But since LaDainian Tomlinson is joining the very team that ranked first in the league in rushing offense last season, there shouldn’t be any problems for L.T. to get going for New York right? After all, he made a career out of running the ball for years, even winning him the league MVP back in ‘06.
Well, if he was five years younger, there wouldn’t be any problems alright. But at 30, that’s a little hard to say for sure. Still, Tomlinson’s age hasn’t fazed his confidence one bit and he feels his marriage with the New York Jets will equate to a Super Bowl title. He wouldn’t be there if he thought otherwise.
”He wanted to go to a team that he thought had a chance to compete for the championship,” Tomlinson’s agent Tom Condon said in an interview. ”He wanted to go somewhere where he had a chance to have a significant role, and so with the Jets he also was going to be very familiar with the offensive system.”
With the $5.1 million the Jets are paying Tomlinson, he’s got to be ”familiar with the system” alright. The Jets signed Tomlinson to a two-year contract and if it turns out that Tomlinson still got it…

And in case you haven’t heard, LeBron James hates Braylon Edwards’ guts.
Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James called former Cleveland Browns receiver Braylon Edwards ”childish” for allegedly punching his friend, Edward Givens outside of a Cleveland night club.
Yes, you read it, Braylon Edwards found a way to attract all the media attention without doing anything substantial in the 2009 NFL football season. James said Edwards punched Givens, his friend and a promoter with a Cleveland marketing firm who was working outside the club.
Based on the official report, Givens accused an unidentified man of punching him in the face following an argument at approximately 2:30 a.m. Givens, who is listed as 5-foot-7, 135 pounds on the report, said the 6-foot-3, 215-pound Braylon Edwards hit him with a closed fist. Givens added that he suffered a black eye and cut and was later treated at a nearby hospital.
Browns coach Eric Mangini was aware of the alleged altercation and said he spoke with Edwards. ”Personal conduct is very important to me,” said Mangini, who has drawn criticism for fining players this season for breaking team rules.
”I always want our players to put themselves in the most positive positions. This is something I will continue to gather information on.”
Edwards, has been a major problem for the Cleveland Browns in the past. While recovering from a foot injury, he cut his heel running in his socks after practice. Last year, he was pulled over in his Bentley for driving…

This is his first opportunity to prove that he’s the real deal on primetime.
Yep, Mark Sanchez will be out to prove that he is more than just hype when he leads the New York Jets to Miami to play the Dolphins. Oh yeah, he’ll try to bounce back from his worst performance of the 2009 NFL football season too in what will be his first taste of primetime football on Monday Night Football.
Will the young Mark Sanchez succumb to the pressure under the bright lights on national TV? Considering that he just tasted defeat for the first time in his young career after the New Orleans Saints dealt his New York Jets their first loss of the season last week, how well can this young rookie rebound?
A rookie quarterback’s first loss is significant, especially for a guy like Mark Sanchez who generated a lot of hype coming out of USC. It’s extra special too if that loss was entirely the rookie quarterback’s fault, as was the case last week when Sanchez threw three interceptions (one returned for a touchdown) and a fumble to wrap up a rather miserable outing at the Superdome, losing to the Saints 24-10.
Good thing Sanchez knew exactly who was at fault…

We have a new playing field this week.
Yep, because coming to Week 5 of the 2009 NFL football season, we have quite a few interesting games that can go either way.
But since we are a gambling guide and ya’ll are here reading our stuff, we’ll try our best to put you ahead and keep you there, even if you’re a Packer fan who probably lost a ton of money while cursing on Brett Favre last Monday night.
The first game we have for you is this face-off between the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos. Tom Brady is looking to follow up on arguably his best performance of the season, can he deal the Broncos their first loss of the year?
Tom Brady had his best game of the season last Sunday, completing 21 of 32 passes for 252 yards and a touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens. The New England Patriots are now probably breathing a sigh of relief after seeing progress from their franchise quarterback on a weekly basis.
At the other end of the field, Denver Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels will face his former team for the first time since he went from being one of Bill Belichick’s assistants to top dawg at the Broncos sidelines. And after patching things up with Brandon Marshall, it definitely looks like the Broncos are ready to go after a Super Bowl title this season.
The problem is, they’re playing a team coached by…

We really don’t know what to expect in the NFL now after this one.
The past week in the 2008-09 NFL football season has been a week full of upsets. After Tampa Bay almost shut out the red hot Panthers, Houston coming back from last week’s collapse to beat Miami and Arizona beating Tony Romo and his Cowboys, the conclusion to this week’s edition of Monday Night Football topped it all.
The Cleveland Browns, after all their problems this season, dropping their first three games, are finally back on their feet after winning their next two. Their last win however, could be the point where they really turn their season around because after beating the defending Super Bowl champions, New York Giants, the Browns just became the hottest ticket in NFL football.
You read it, the Browns beat
the New York Giants, 35-14, in their return to primetime since 2003. For the last five years, Monday Night Football and Cleveland have never been under the same sentence, and in their return last Monday, the Browns made sure it would be a memorable one.
With Browns wideout Braylon Edwards sticking an Olympic-caliber cartwheel and back flip during pregame introductions, the Dawg Pound knew they’re in for something special. Thanks to Edwards who made sure of that, grabbing 154 receiving yards and a touchdown, Edwards ended up with the best performance of the game after probably the most interesting pregame warm-up of the season.
Browns quarterback Derek Anderson was spectacular as well…

They say winning a game at the Dog Pound is one of the hardest things to accomplish in football.
And since we love to see the best of the best duke it out, we’ll be hoping for that exactly when the Steelers visit the Browns at the Dog Pound as the 2008-09 NFL football season resumes this Sunday night.
Sunday Night Football will sure feature a defensive struggle between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Browns. Both teams still have one of the best defensive schemes in the league and while that defense won the Steelers a game against the Texans last week, the same can’t be said of the Browns, who lost to the high-flying Cowboys 28-10.
STILL, it is well documented
that Cleveland Browns Stadium is still one of the toughest places to win a football game and I don’t expect those guys to drop another game at the Dog Pound for the second straight week.
The Steelers are entering the season with questions on their offensive line. They have two new starters there who were not that very good in protecting Ben Roethlisberger the past two seasons.
Roethlisberger was sacked twice by Mario Williams last week but still…

The Cleveland Browns quarterback is no Charlie Brown but after being shown up by his wide receiver, he sure feels like it now.
Cleveland Browns wide receiver, Braylon Edwards, lost his composure after quarterback Charlie Frye threw an interception in their disappointing 30-0 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Probably frustrated with the way the Browns offense played Sunday, Edwards did his best ”Terrell Owens” impersonation on his QB, exchanging words with Charlie Frye and grabbing the quarterback’s jersey while the rest of the Cleveland Browns tried to settle their teammate down.
Yep, Braylon Edwards, the second-year Cleveland Browns wide receiver, looked almost like Terrell Owens. The only difference here is, the cocky wideout doesn’t have Owens’ natural talent to justify this shit he brought to the field.
Braylon Edwards, who didn’t speak to the media following the game, never directly apologized to Charlie Frye or anyone for his actions but he clearly regretted what happened.
”I don’t feel like I embarrassed my…”

Of course, when you talk about NCAA College Football, only one player comes to mind. Reggie Bush.
He wears number 5 but is Reggie Bush the best collegiate football player ever to don the no.5 jersey?
Here are the best NCAA College Football players wearing jerseys 1-5.
No.1 Anthony Carter (WR) Michigan 1979-1982
Anthony Carter is perhaps, the best of the Michigan wide receivers ever to wear the No.1 jersey. Some worthy of the praise are Michigan WRs Derrick Alexander, Braylon Edwards and David Terrell, Michigan State WR Charles Rogers and Illinois WR David Williams.
No.2 Deion Sanders (CB) Florida State 1985-1988
Nobody covered receivers like the incomparable Deion Sanders. And no, 1997 Heisman winner and Michigan defensive back / kick returner Charles Woodson doesn’t stand a chance.
No.3 Joe Montana (QB) Notre Dame 1975-1978
Perhaps no quarterback can ever compare to the legendary Joe Montana. Wearing the No.3 makes Montana somewhat skinnier than the famous No.16 of the San Francisco 49ers. Nevertheless, he STILL is one of the best quarterbacks football has ever seen. No matter what jersey number…
