Have you noticed that every time you take a dump on the toilet, there’s that tiny little nugget that refuses to be flushed down?
On Wednesday night, the Utah Jazz will have the opportunity to flush down more than a few NUGGETS in Denver as they look to advance in the second round of the 2010 NBA playoffs on Wednesday.
That’s right, after dropping the first game of their best of seven series with the Denver Nuggets, the Utah Jazz came back with a vengeance, winning the next three games to put themselves in the position to eliminate the Nuggets in front of their fans in Denver.
And while the Utah Jazz are obviously riding on
some momentum heading to what could be the clincher of the series, the Denver Nuggets are frustrated, infuriated and discombobulated. In case you haven’t heard, there’s some sort of dissension going on within the Nuggets camp following their 117-106 loss to the Jazz in Game 4 and trust me, this is not something those guys would want to have heading to their do or die game this Wednesday.
It turns out that Nuggets guard J.R. Smith had something to say about their loss to Utah and as always, he made his comments public through Twitter.
Apparently, Smith is sick and tired of watching Carmelo Anthony take all them shots. And while he had no problems whatsoever when Melo took more than half of their team’s field goal attempts in Game 1 to score 42 points, he probably couldn’t…

Because the Nuggets know how big getting the 2-0 lead is before they leave Denver and play the Jazz at the Energy Solutions Arena.
That’s why the Nuggets should keep their feet on the gas in Game 2 of their first round series in the 2010 NBA playoffs. The Jazz are a different team in front of their adoring fans in Salt Lake City and surely, the Nuggets don’t want to hand the homecourt edge to those guys right?
The Denver Nuggets are determined to get that 2-0 lead in Game 2 that they already know what they should do come game time, hold the Utah Jazz under 100. Sure, they gave up 113 points to Utah in their 126-113 win in Game 1 but after watching the game in their film session last Sunday, the Nuggets know the scoring barrage has to stop.
”I told Chauncey (Billups) we can’t give them 100 points,” Denver Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin said on Sunday morning. ”I think our record is pretty good when we hold teams under 100 points. I think that needs to be our focus.”
K-Mart has a point, the Nuggets are 30-3 this season when they hold opponents under 100 points. And when it comes to holding the Utah Jazz below the century mark, they know who they need to neutralize, Jazz point guard Deron Williams…

If they are, then this 13-game winning streak they have is just the tip of the iceberg.
With the second half of the 2010 NBA basketball season underway, the Cleveland Cavaliers are coming in with the best record in the league at 43-11, riding a league – best 13-game winning streak heading to their date with the Denver Nuggets this Thursday.
With all kinds of momentum going for the Cleveland Cavaliers right now, it seems they are not satisfied just yet. Rumors are claiming that the Cavaliers are going after Amar’e Stoudemire. And if these guys manage to sign a talent like Stoudemire to complement the already formidable tandem of LeBron James and Shaquille O’Neal, you can just imagine what the Cavs can accomplish from here.
If the Cavs do trade for Amar’e Stoudemire, that would be their fourth major trade in two years. Yep, you read it, their FOURTH ONE.
Why have they been trading a lot the last few years? Well, they want to keep LeBron James in Cleveland and surrounding the hottest commodity in the league right now with all kinds of talent that might give this team its first championship in franchise history has been their top priority ever since they drafted James out of high school.
According to the rumors, the deal is on the table but…

We know the starters, now it’s time to find out who got snubbed and who should be there in Dallas.
Every year, the NBA’s midseason extravaganza snubs a few players who fans feel should be in the league’s annual celebration of the brightest stars in the NBA. The 2010 NBA All-Star Game in Dallas is no different.
Let’s start with this one guy who probably got snubbed from the All-Star game this year because of a mug you can’t market ANYWHERE. And in case you didn’t get that, I’m referring to Los Angeles Clippers center Chris Kaman.
This will be the second time the Los Angeles Clippers star got snubbed for the All-Star game. For a guy who looks like a child molester, Kaman is quickly becoming one of the brightest stars in Hollywood. The guy is averaging 20.1 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. He is arguably having the best season of any traditional center in the West and that is why the Clippers, despite all their struggles, are still hanging on for a playoff spot.
Another guy who definitely should be in the All-Star game in Dallas is Chauncey Billups. Having the All-Star game this year without Mr. Big Shot is a travesty, to say the least. He is probably the best point guard in the Western Conference at this point of the season. Hell, he should be there starting for the West instead of Steve Nash in my opinion.
But probably because of the injury that forced him to miss eight games this season, Billups failed to get the fans’ and the coaches’ votes.
”I’m sure it played a role,” Billups said, who just recently broke his career high when he led the Denver Nuggets to a win over the Lakers in Los Angeles…

These fans could care less who they get to the NBA’s midseason extravaganza.
How come? Well, Tracy McGrady COULD START for the Western Conference All-Stars in Dallas. Yep, T-Mac. Boy, is he playing awesome this 2009 NBA basketball season eh?
In what is slowly turning out to be a complete and utter joke, some NBA fans are on the verge of letting a dude who haven’t played a single game this season become an All-Star in Dallas, where the 2010 NBA All-Star Game will be played.
Ain’t that funny? Tracy McGrady could join Kobe Bryant in the Western Conference backcourt. That is a slap in the face to every other guard in the Western Conference. They don’t even have to be better than McGrady this season since the guy HASN’T EVEN SUITED UP FOR A SINGLE FREAKING GAME THIS YEAR.
If you ask me, there’s this one guy who should get the vote to be a starter in the Western Conference All-Star roster, Brandon Roy. That dude, just like last season, is ballin’ this year and even without Greg Oden for the second straight year, Roy is doing just enough to keep the ship afloat.
Another dude who should get the start alongside Kobe Bryant is Chauncey Billups.
Chauncey Billups is the prototypical point guard and it is because of his leadership that the Denver Nuggets have become one of the elite teams in the West, not to mention help Carmelo Anthony become one of the prime candidates to win league MVP this season.
For a guy like him to get the boot in favor of a dude who is…

SportsCenter will be a little busy in a few days.
Because in case you didn’t know, the 2009 NBA basketball season is here. And since we already have the NFL season underway and the MLB playoffs starting to heat up, it’s certainly nice to be a sports fan at this time of the year.
And as far as the NBA season is concerned, the Los Angeles Lakers will try to defend Kobe’s first ever title without Shaq, hoping that last June’s successful run to the title will be the first of successive championship seasons. After all, teams coached by Phil Jackson are known to win titles by threes. But do they have enough this season to win it all again?
With the departure of Trevor Ariza, mercurial stalwart Ron Artest should quickly fill that hole. At this point of his career, Artest just wants to win a title so
hopefully, he won’t be a distraction to this Lakers team like he once was with the last few teams that he played for.
Back to back titles would virtually be a wrap if the Lakers could get steadier production from big guys Andrew Bynum and Josh Powell. The team’s Jekyll and Hyde play is still a concern but as long as Kobe Bryant keeps this team together, they will still be in the position to win a world title.
If there’s one team that can challenge the Lakers this season, it would have to be the very team they played in the conference finals last season, the Denver Nuggets. After acquiring a true floor leader in Chauncey Billups, the Nuggets tied their franchise record of 54 regular season victories back in the 2008-09.
Chauncey Billups and Carmelo Anthony will continue to…

The Nuggets should’ve won Game 1. But thanks to some silly fouls and one fucked-up inbound pass, they let the Lakers steal it.
The Denver Nuggets ALMOST pulled off one of the most improbable feats you can ever accomplish in the 2009 NBA Playoffs, beat the Lakers at home. Almost because, even though the Nuggets pretty much controlled the rest of the game, they just couldn’t finish the Lakers off.
The Denver Nuggets clearly had Game 1 won but after committing one silly foul after another, they just kept the window open for the Los Angeles Lakers to steal it. The Lakers took advantage of it as they managed to eventually win the game, 105-103, after coming in seconds from losing the homecourt advantage.
So how silly were Denver’s mistakes? The Nuggets just kept sending Kobe Bryant (of all people) to the foul line. In fact, the Nuggets sent Bryant to the foul line nine times in the final quarter, THRICE in the final 30 seconds for crying out loud.
In a game where the Denver Nuggets led by as many as seven points in the closing minutes of the game, putting Bryant to the foul line was a head scratcher. I mean, the guy had a broken finger for crying out loud, why in the blue blazes will you let him shoot two uncontested shots from the charity stripe where he can find some sort of a rhythm?
Kobe Bryant went 9 for 9 from the foul line in…

In case you didn’t get that, the Lakers were able to advance to the conference finals after finally eliminating Houston.
Waiting for them of course, are the Denver Nuggets who have already secured their spot in the 2009 NBA Western Conference Finals days ahead of Kobe Bryant and company. And while we are expecting yet another intense best of seven series, we’re certain that Lakers owner Jerry Buss will have more class dealing with the Nuggets than Mark Cuban had.
It’s the Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets for the Western Conference title as the 2009 NBA Playoffs have already narrowed down the initial 16-team field to the final four.
For Denver Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony, he is looking forward to facing-off with one of his Team USA teammates that won the gold in Beijing, Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant.
”That’s my man,” Carmelo Anthony said, who then flashed a smile. ”But I don’t know him this week.
As far as facing the top-seeded Los Angeles Lakers is concerned, Antony said, ”We’re very confident. Not cocky, but confident.” Yes, perhaps Anthony has every reason to be confident considering the kind of season they’re having.
The Nuggets have been on a roll thanks to…

I guess you can call it the wild and wackier side of the postseason.
Yep, unlike the Eastern Conference, seven of the eight seeds in the West for the 2009 NBA Playoffs were not determined yet until they played the last game of the regular season.
While everybody knew the Los Angeles Lakers will remain on top of the field, nobody knew which teams will occupy seeds two to eight. But now that the dust has cleared and the 82-game regular season finally came to a close, we already have the seedings complete.
Playing the top-seeded Lakers are the no.8 seed Utah Jazz. This might be a tougher series than the Lakers expect. Sure, the Jazz have a big problem with winning games on the road this season, but at 33-19 against conference opponents, Utah is still a tough nut to crack in the West. And as good as the Jazz are in the West, they are even better at home.
The rejuvenated Denver Nuggets, led by their court general Chauncey Billups…

Yep, Mr. Big Shot is back in Detroit.
And while Piston fans like yours truly hope Chauncey will be back in a Piston uniform, since the Pistons really really need the guy back this 2009 NBA basketball season, that simply won’t be the case on Tuesday night.
You see, the Detroit Pistons made the big mistake of trading Chauncey Billups away to Denver for Allen Iverson this season and this will be the first time that Chauncey returns to Detroit since that deal that virtually tore the Pistons, along with their chances of another title, apart.
It’s going to be the Denver Nuggets visiting the ailing Pistons at the
Palace of Auburn Hills as All-Star guard Chauncey Billups pay his former teammates a visit and probably make Pistons manager Joe Dumars look more of an ass than a Piston Hall of Famer.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to determine that the Nuggets got the better end of the Allen Iverson – Chauncey Billups deal. Billups, even with Carmelo Anthony out most of the time, has been able to lead the Nuggets to one of the best records in the West.
Allen Iverson, on the other hand, destroyed the chemistry the Pistons established for five years while leading Detroit to playoff elimination this early into…
