At least Tom Brady is still kissing Randy Moss’ Ass

Friday, December 18th, 2009

But for how long?

In case you haven’t noticed, the New England Patriots haven’t been Patriot – like lately this 2009 NFL football season. They are just barely leading a football division they should’ve been dominating with both the Dolphins and the Jets breathing down their necks.

Last Sunday though, the New England Patriots may have discovered an even bigger issue they need to address. There’s some sort of dissension going on withing the mighty Patriots contingent and as far as some Panthers are concerned, Randy Moss is in the middle of it.

Despite losing to the New England Patriots last randy_mossSunday, 20-10, two of the Carolina Panthers secondary, specifically Chris Gamble and Chris Harris, felt the need to call out Moss, saying that the Patriots wide receiver wasn’t giving his all for his team last Sunday.

”We knew he was going to shut it down,” Chris Gamble said. ”That’s what we wanted him to do. That’s what we did. He’d just give up a lot. Slow down, he’s not going deep, not trying to run a route. You can tell, his body language.”

”I know everyone who plays against him, they can sense that. Once you get into him in the beginning of the game, he shuts it down a little bit.”

Rumors claim that this was the result of Moss getting sent home…

Did Randy Moss quit on the New England Patriots?

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

Uh oh.

It looks like the New England Patriots are having all sorts of problems this 2009 NFL football season. After suffering back to back losses in the last two weekends, the Patriots finally snapped their losing streak last Sunday. However, despite beating the Carolina Panthers 20-10 to get themselves back in the win column, it seems they still have one huge issue they need to address.

Apparently, Randy Moss had the worst performance of his three-year marriage with the Patriots and according to two Panthers corners, the enigmatic Patriots receiver did it on purpose. Yikes.

randy_mossRandy Moss finished with just one catch for 16 yards, one dropped pass, one lost fumble and a fourth quarter false start penalty for the New England Patriots. Moss was so terrible last Sunday that the home crowd at Foxboro started to boo him. Was it because of the fantastic defense shown by the Panthers or did Moss just stopped playing?

In case you didn’t know, Moss was sent home by head coach Bill Belichick when the receiver was late for a team practice in preparation for this contest against Carolina. The Patriots lost two in a row and were in desperate need of a win then and being late for an agitated Belichick is definitely something you don’t want to do. Moss did, Belichick sent him packing and the receiver’s ego was hurt since.

Against the Carolina Panthers, Randy Moss looked like…

Did Troy Polamalu help the Pittsburgh Steelers cover the -5 spread against the San Diego Chargers last Sunday?

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

If you’re a gambling man, you’re probably asking yourself that a lot lately.

Just so you know, the Steelers and the Chargers were engaged in a weird finish in Week 11 of the 2008-09 NFL football season last Sunday. The 11-10 final score was the first game EVER in the history of the NFL to have a game end like the way it did. And although 11-10 sure was a strange final result in football, that’s not the thing that got sports gamblers concerned.

The Pittsburgh Steelers were coming into this game as -5 favorites to win over the visiting San Diego Chargers. And while the 11-10 final score means Pittsburgh won the game despite failing to cover the -5 spread, it turns out that the Steelers DID COVER if it wasn’t for the referees making yet another huge officiating error right then and there at Heinz Field.

Troy PolamaluOn the final play of Pittsburgh’s 11-10 win over the San Diego Chargers, the league admitted that the officials made a mistake after taking away the touchdown scored by Steelers safety Troy Polamalu when he returned a fumble towards the Chargers’ endzone.

The Chargers, down 11-10 with 11 seconds remaining, had this one last desperation attempt to win the game when they started the play from their own 21-yard line. Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers completed a short pass to LaDainian Tomlinson over the middle before Tomlinson tossed the ball backward to Chris Chambers.

When Chambers tried to make another backward lateral pass to another teammate…

Was the $10,000 NLHE Championship the biggest event held in the ongoing 2008 World Series of Poker?

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

A whopping 6,844 entrants for the 2008 WSOP $10,000 NLHE Championship is just unthinkable.

As we go deeper into the 2008 World Series of Poker tournament, we saw the second largest field in WSOP Main Event history. A total of 6,844 aspiring bracelet winners trooped to the Rio pumping up the total prize money to a staggering $9,119,517.

Doomsday soothsayers beware. Top 666 of the players will get paid and the minimum cash-out will be $21,230. How about that huh?

Day 1D of the 2008 WSOP Championship saw former champions 2008 World Series of PokersPhil Hellmuth, Chris Ferguson, Johnny Chan, Doyle Brunson, Jerry Yang, Carlos Mortensen and Noel Furlong joining the fun.

Poker stars Phil Ivey, Jennifer Harman, Annie Duke, Phil Gordon, Allen Cunninghan and Men ”The Master” Nguyen also joined the fray. Celebrity sightings include MLB pitcher David Wells and UFC fighter Chuck ”The Iceman” Liddel.

Casualties were many too. EPT Scandinavian Open winner Tim Vance lost when his opponent gambled with middle pair and hit a runner-runner flush to beat his straight on the flop. Poker pro David Williams was cruelly eliminated when his…

The Huckleberry Hound of the World Series of Poker

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

seth-edward-oneal.jpgOh yeah, no longer will Huckleberry Hound be remembered as a dog from Hanna-Barbera.

After winning FOUR World Series of Poker bracelets, Huck Seed certainly hopes so. Who would have thought that a guy with the name Huckleberry can terrorize the pants off opponents in a poker table?

That is what ”Huckleberry” Huck Seed has done. It doesn’t help that he stands an ominous 6 ft and 7 inches tall. It is probably a relief that the four-time WSOP bracelet winner is actually one of the quietest players in poker, rarely speaking at the table. No surprise there. Someone as poker savvy as Huck can let his skills do the talking.

Born in 1968, in Corvallis, Montana, ”Huckleberry” Huck Seed showed an early interest in mathematics and sports. Seed was a member of the 1987 Montana All-State basketball team and was a star player on Caltech’s basketball team where he was an electrical engineering student. Seed took a leave of absence in 1989 to start playing poker and ended up turning his back on college all together.

As of 2007, Seed’s tournament winnings exceed $3,500,000. He won the 1996 World Series of Poker main event, taking home the $1,000,000 first prize. He also came in 6th place at the 1999 WSOP. At the 2007 Main Event, Seed finished 73rd out of a staggering 6,358 players.

Seed is known to be an avid proposition gambler. Poker lore has it that he once lost $50,000 to Phil Hellmuth after betting that he could stand in the ocean with water up to his shoulders for eighteen hours. Although he lost the bet, he won…

BYU blocks UCLA for 17-16 win at Las Vegas Bowl

Sunday, December 23rd, 2007

seth-edward-oneal.jpgViva Las Vegas! Viva Las Vegas! (Or something like that…)

Yep, those college kids came to Las Vegas while their moms probably were hoping their kids went there to watch the football game between the UCLA Bruins and the BYU Cougars, staying away from all those blackjack tables and slot machines.

Oh yes, the UCLA Bruins played the Brigham Young Cougars in the 2007 Las Vegas Bowl at the Sam Boyd Stadium. Of course, those college kids I mentioned probably gambled at them casinos still. He he…

The Brigham Young Cougars were looking to extend a nine-game winning streak when they went up against the stumbling UCLA Bruins. Considered as one of the nation’s most balanced teams, the Brigham Young Cougars posted 458 yards of total offense per game under new quarterback Max Hall, compared to the 465 it averaged during John Beck’s final campaign.

In the end, all it took was a blocked field goal attempt to extend their dominance over these bowl games in the Sin City. After Brigham Young’s defense allowed UCLA to drive 87 yards in the final two minutes, Eathyn Manumaleuna saved the Cougars with his fingertip.

Manumaleuna got his right hand on…

Monday Night Football with big BUCS and big Gamble

Monday, November 13th, 2006

Yep, it’s Monday once again.

NFL Monday Night Football will see the Tampa Bay Buccaneers visit Chris Gamble and the rest of the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte, North Carolina. Both the Bucs and the Panthers are coming to this NFL Football game on a two-game losing streak and on Monday, both of them will try to win, by all means necessary.

For the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they are at a dismal 2-6 at this point of the season, something Buccaneers defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin has already seen before. Monte Kiffin was on a flight to Charlotte with the rest of the Buccaneers and that said flight was very similar to the one he took for Chicago ten years ago when the Bucs were at an equally dismal 1-7 record.

According to Monte Kiffin, the feeling inside the plane was eerily similar to the one he took ten years back. He’s frustrated. But mind you, he’s not frustrated of the way the Bucs played on the NFL Football field, he’s just sick and tired of seeing one Buccaneer after another get hurt on the field with injuries.

He’s frustrated by the fact his best pass rusher, Simeon Rice, has a shoulder so sore he can’t even practice and will be inactive for Monday. He’s frustrated by the fact his second-best pass rusher, Ellis Wyms, has an ankle so sore he can’t practice or play effectively, either. He’ll also miss Monday’s game. He’s frustrated that one of his two best cornerbacks, Brian Kelly, is out for the…
