Oh yes, fantasy football returns.
Just in case you’re wondering who to grab for your fantasy football teams once the 2010 NFL football season arrives, we’re giving you the lowdown on who to draft, beginning with arguably the most important player of your team, the quarterbacks.
Let’s begin with Dallas Cowboys’ Tomy Romo. Look for Romo to go back over 30 touchdowns this season as he has more talent with Dez Bryant and Kevin Ogletree showing promise. Romo should have a more consistent fantasy season with so much talent around him. Now, we need to see if the offensive line can keep him healthy as they will have a new left tackle this season.
Next we have Matt Schaub of the Houston Texans. The Texans’ defense is going to be shaky in the secondary as they lost top corner back Dunta Robinson in free agency and linebacker Brian Cushing is out the first month because of suspension. As the Texans give up the points on defense, their offense will have to score into the 30s to win football games.
At the center of this output is Schaub, as he has a good group of pass catchers to throw the football too. Look for Schaub to have another strong season as long as he’s not on the sidelines with an injury.
Of course, Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts has to be a valuable fantasy football asset as well. Look for Manning to have another fabulous season as Anthony Gonzalez is returning to give “The Sheriff” another gun in his holster. With so many weapons to throw at, the Colts individual receivers could suffer in numbers because the football gets spread around. While that may not be good for them, it is very good for Manning as he can use all his weapons to find more mismatches in the defense and take advantage.
Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers has become quite a steal…

Following Sam Bradford’s performance on his pro day, many believe that he is next in line if Tom Brady and Peyton Manning retires, to carry the league.
You see, some things are for already for sure with Sam Bradord, and those are his ability to read the field, his quick release, and his ability to throw with accuracy. Some commented that not one ball was uncatchable during the aforementioned pro day, because the only incomplete pass was a drop by the receiver.
Of course, Bradford’s pro day does not account for whether he can do that with a 270 pound defensive end in his face in the coming 2010 NFL football season. Still, Bradford’s pro-day was so impressive that some commented that it was the best by a quarterback in 10 years.
Bradford processes information quickly. He scans the field and is able to work the progression of the play. By working the progression, we mean check out receivers in order to see if they are covered and getting the ball to the open guy. He has the vision to find the next receiver quickly.
He has made good decisions. He has thrown for 4464 yards, with 48 TDs with only 6 interceptions. That gives him a QB rating of 168.3. He is a playmaker and has 5 rushing TDs. He converts an above average number of 3 downs which is critical in the NFL.
He can run but is much more of a pocket passer than most other spread QBs. That will give him an advantage over a Tim Tebow or Chase Daniel. He moves around in the pocket to avoid the rush but still keeps his vision down field. Problem is, he is not nearly as accurate moving as he is when he can set his feet. If he goes to a team like the Lions, he had better work on that because behind the Detroit offensive line he will be running a lot.
He has above average but not great arm strength. Many of his…

And mind you, there are quite a few.
The 2010 NFL football season draws near and that means some NFL teams have began tweaking their rosters here and there to find that combination that they hope will win them the Super Bowl.
First we have the New York Giants. They announced that they signed Jim Sorgi to a one-year deal. Contract terms were not disclosed. He will be backing up Eli Manning after doing the same job for six years working with his brother Peyton.
Sorgi will compete with second-year man Rhett Bomar for the Giants’ backup quarterback job. The 6-foot-5, 196-pound quarterback was the Colts’ sixth-round draft choice in 2004.
He has appeared in 16 NFL games, completing 99 of 156 pass attempts for 929 yards, with six touchdowns and one interception. He played in only one game in 2009, and was placed on injured reserve in December with shoulder tendinitis.
Next, the Minnesota Vikings signed kickoff specialist Rhys Lloyd and re-signed cornerback Benny Sapp. Lloyd handled kickoffs for the Carolina Panthers the past two seasons, leading the NFL with 30 touchbacks in 2008. He had 21 touchbacks last year, tied for fourth-most in the league.
Ryan Longwell remains the regular kicker for…

Peyton Manning, Pierre Garcon, Drew Brees and Reggie Bush, these guys are probably your prime candidates to win Super Bowl MVP this Sunday.
EA Sports and John Madden looked into their crystal ball and did all bettors a favor by letting them know not only the outcome of Super Bowl XLIV, but the simulated video game they ran also pegged the MVP.
I feel sorry for all of those who already bet on someone other than Drew Brees, as it was none other than the New Orleans Saints quarterback who won the award in the simulated Super Bowl in Madden NFL 10.
Online sportsbooks like SPORTSBETTING.com have had the Super Bowl MVP prop betting option up for over a week now. It is always one of the more popular options for the sports betting public. And with the big game between the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints just around the corner, this is probably your last chance to make your pick.
Madden NFL 10’s Super Bowl MVP, Drew Brees, is currently the second most popular option with bettors, sitting right behind, as you might expect, Peyton Manning. Sportsbooks are currently reporting Manning with 34 percent of all the MVP betting action.
When it comes to MVP betting, QBs are usually a decent choice…

It will be a David vs. Goliath-like battle when the ”Final 2” from the AFC battle for the Lamar Hunt Trophy on Sunday.
The Indianapolis Colts, who are ‘’supposed to be in the AFC title game,” will host the New York Jets, who ”weren’t even supposed to make the playoffs.”
And on top of that, we’ll see the tried, tested and true QB Peyton Manning dueling with the rookie signal-caller Mark Sanchez.
Online sportsbooks opened Indy as a 7.5 point favorite (a couple books opened Indy -7 early but it immediately went to 7.5 across the board), and now has moved to -8. The total is set at 40.5.
The betting action has leveled off after the initial spike on the Indianapolis Colts early. If you’re thinking about
betting on the Jets you might as well wait, as this line isn’t going to come down and could continue to rise a little.
Let’s look at some numbers from this matchup.
Indy is 6-2 ATS in their last eight games (remember they didn’t care about the last couple of games on their schedule).
Note that in their most recent eight games vs. teams from the AFC East, the result has been 6 Overs and 2 Unders.
However, bettors who played Peyton Manning and the rest of the Colts haven’t seen much of a payout in Indy’s last 10 games against the Jets, going 3-6-1 ATS. You don’t have to look too far back to their last meeting.
It was a controversial game a few weeks ago that resulted in a road win for the Jets, as they handed Indianapolis its first loss of the regular season (by a final of 29-15) but many of the Colts starters were…

After they took down Tom Brady and the mighty Patriots last weekend, you can no longer question what these guys can do anymore.
The 2010 NFL playoffs continue with a huge AFC divisional playoff game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Indianapolis Colts. The Ravens are fresh from eliminating NFL Comeback Player of the Year Tom Brady and his Patriots, this time they are looking to take out the reigning NFL Most Valuable Player of the Year Peyton Manning and his Indianapolis Colts.
A tall order? I’d definitely say so. I mean, Peyton Manning just won his fourth league MVP trophy, his second in a row. And as long as Manning is leading the offense, the Colts can score with the best in the league. But if there’s a team that can come up with an upset win at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis, it’s the Ravens.
Fresh from their 33-14 win over the New England Patriots, the Baltimore Ravens offense will once again rely on their running game led by their three-headed monster of Ray Rice, Willis McGahee and Le’Ron McClain.
Rice had a huge game last week with 159 yards and two touchdowns on 22 rushing attempts against the Patriots. The Ravens are hoping for the same against the Indianapolis Colts this weekend. Rice…

Well, Tom Coughlin certainly hopes so.
At 7-6, the New York Giants are on the brink of missing the playoffs after such a strong start to the 2009 NFL football season a few months ago.
Yes, it looks like the Dallas Cowboys are not the only team having their fair share of problems this December as we witnessed the New York Giants squander away all the momentum they’ve generated during the early parts of the season.
Once lording over the NFC East, Eli Manning and the rest of the Giants now find themselves sitting third behind the struggling Cowboys. Their remaining three games are huge if they want to clinch that wild card playoff spot. A loss could very well be the killer to their hopes of a run at the Super Bowl.
On Monday Night Football, they have the Washington Redskins in the first of three must-win games for the Giants. After this NFC East rivalry, the Giants have the Carolina Panthers before heading to the Metrodome to face the red hot Minnesota Vikings.
Yup, it doesn’t look too good for the Giants right now. But if there’s that one guy who can help the Giants make that final push for the postseason, it’s Eli Manning. Sure, he can be inconsistent at times but the fact of the matter is, the guy can make plays when it counts the most.
Just ask the Patriots after Eli led the Giants to win…

Betting on the NFL for the last time before Christmas Day couldn’t be any better.
Because Week 15 of the 2009 NFL football season has FOUR games for you on primetime, two of ‘em could very well rewrite history while the other two could very well rewrite the playoff seeding.
Let’s start with the first team looking to rewrite history this season, the Indianapolis Colts. In case you haven’t noticed, they haven’t lost a game for quite some time now and on Thursday night Football, they are looking to continue their undefeated streak against the Jacksonville Jaguars to kick off Week 15.
Yep, the Indianapolis Colts and the Jacksonville Jaguars relive their AFC South rivalry. The Colts have already secured the AFC’s No.1 seed for the playoffs. And while the Jaguars would love to beat their AFC rivals this Thursday night and give themselves that late push for a wild card spot, the Colts are just playing too good to be beat these days.
The last time these two teams met, Indianapolis beat Jacksonville 14-12. The Colts are 12-4 all-time against the Jaguars with Peyton Manning at quarterback. The three-time league MVP, 28 of 38 for 301 yards with a touchdown and an interception in their last meeting with the Jaguars, passed for 4,354 yards with 30 TDs and 11 picks in those 16 games against Jacksonville.
Manning is looking to get back on track following a shaky…

Don’t worry, we got you covered.
Yes, it’s Thanksgiving and since it’s customary for the NFL to bombard you with not one, not two, but THREE games for you to enjoy while you stuff yer mouth with that turkey, we’re gonna tell you which team to bet on as we kick off Week 12 of the 2009 NFL football season.
And in case you’re wondering, the Detroit Lions will once again host a Thanksgiving Day game. Go figure. This year, the 2-8 Lions take on the 6-4 Green Bay Packers and just like the last time the Lions hosted a Thanksgiving Day game, they’re going to get their asses kicked all over Ford Field for the entire world to see.
The Green Bay Packers, who have won their last two games, will have to compensate for the losses of the two Pro Bowl players; cornerback Al Harris and linebacker Aaron Kampman, as both players will miss the rest of the season because of knee injuries.
The Packers will plug in either rookie Brad Jones or Brady Poppinga to replace Kampman at left outside linebacker in their 3-4 scheme. Jones started for Kampman, who…

Bettors Backing NFL Road Favorites
Get ready to watch the men separate themselves from the boys this week in the NFL as the playoff races heat up. It’s the proverbial “go time” for many teams.
Cincinnati at Oakland:
The Bengals are sitting pretty…right now anyway, but they need to keep winning and especially winning games against weak teams.
They head to Oakland this week to face, big surprise, a troubled Raider team. Cincy has been one of this season’s surprises, currently leading the AFC North with records of 7-2 straight up and 6-3 against the spread.
But they’re facing a bit of adversity this week, as the team’s leading rusher, Cedric Benson, is nursing what ESPN is calling a sore
abductor muscle. His pain resulted in the team signing recent Kansas City Chiefs castoff RB Larry Johnson. LJ’s attitude wore thin on the Chiefs and his addition already seems to be wearing on Benson. We’ll see how it shakes out.
There have been changes made to the Raiders’ starting lineup as well as QB JaMarcus Russell has been demoted while QB Bruce Gradkowski will start in Russell’s place.
In its last nine when an underdog of more than 8-points, Oakland is 6-3 ATS.
Going into Sunday’s game in Oakland, online sportsbooks have…
